methinks someone needs to be reminded which party is the one that publicly supports the murder of babies. You know, every time i start to waver in my support of W, lunatics like these give me more resolve to vote for him. For the added bonus of pissing in their cheerios for four more years. :D Kitso KS 361 times that you can't make this stuff up, its that good |

Wow. That's all I can say. Wow.
This is a sincere question because I honestly don't know the answer, but were there in-your-face Republican protesters at the Dem convention in Boston and they just didn't get the press that these protesters are getting? |
There were protesters saying things just as mean at the Dem Convention, they just didn't get the press. These extremists on both sides make their own sides look bad. I really wish there was some way to do politics without the hostility.
|
Many of these protesters are neither Democrats nor New Yorkers.
I haven't even noticed that the Republican National Convention is going on. I rarely go near Madison Square Garden so maybe that's why. The news said stay away from West 23rd Street to West 42nd Street. I have and will for the rest of the week. |

I think it's safe to say that many of the protesters aren't Democrats or New Yorkers. I think you could also be safe in saying that in Boston many of the protesters weren't Republicans or Bostonians.
Many of the things being protested cross party lines. Here's the deal though -- NBC World Headquarters is a 30 Rockefeller Plaza, Fox on Avenue of the Americas, ABC on 66th (I think), and CBS on 57th. All of those are in Manhattan. Gee, why do you suppose there are more protesters in NY than in Boston? Or, are more people mad at the GOP? |

What kind of people support Kerry?
The father of this little girl just called in to the Glenn Beck show. This is quite sad...
http://www.glennbeck.com/picoftheday/09-17-04-pod.jpg Three-year-old Sophia Parlock cries while seated on the shoulders of her father, Phil Parlock, after having their Bush-Cheney sign torn up by Kerry-Edwards supporters on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, at the Tri-State Airport in Huntington, WV. **moderators feel free to post the pic in the thread...i'm picpostingchallenged ;) |
|
Actually, for the record, taking small children to a place like that where there are dangerous Kerry sympathizers is irresponsible. These kids have no idea who either Bush or Kerry are. The Kerry supporter who allegedly did this is certainly not blameless, but neither are the kids' parents for taking them there.

quoted for hilarious "dangerous kerry supporters" line, bravo kevin, you made the program |
wow, this is a great thread. that poor lil girl, but true, she shouldn't have been there. i thought the same thing when i was at a bush rally in town. the kids just got in the way of the crazy mob. but at our rally there were not kerry supporters anywhere near the rest of the crowd. very deliberately.
i'm loving mrblonde's comment and i totally agree with krazy. those are great a comments. if i knew how to do a signature i would totally put both of them in my sig. shelley j sigma k |

The guy who tore up the sign is an a-hole, but the guy who brought a small child to a situation where he knew there would be tension and possible fighting is a bigger a-hole. |
Did anyone notice the old dude was wearing a paisley tie?
Who the hell still wears paisley? |

Paisley is actually very in right now. (although I'm not saying I like that guy's tie) [/resume arguing] :p |

That little girl is so sad. :( Her dad is a total douffus for taking her to a rally and carrying a sign for the opposition. |

Has politics got that confrontational or competative? If so people need to take a step back and realize what jackasses they are.... |

Here is a link I posted in another thread. He has pulled this kind of thing the last 3 election. Looks like you can't say much about those anti-Kerry types either. |

THE KID CAN'T VOTE. |
sounds like this guy is a total chode. and to bring his kids in on this for a sick publicity stunt? that's low.
i remain a bush supporter, but wish this guy wasn't representing republicans. shelley j sigma k |

it's reasons like this jerk that you shouldn't believe everything that is reported as being true in the media. if this guy hadn't already done this a few other times, people would still think he's legit.
people are so quick to jump on the "evil Kerry supporter" when it should really be the "evil bush supporter" who has the nerve to involve his kid in his nonsense |

At least in church there are stories that can teach children lessons about being a better person. Tell me the last Bush or Kerry rally that encouraged people to be better in what they do. That's not the point of politics. Kids still can't vote. |
