UF Recuitment bid lists
Hey all--for anyone that goes to UF, do you know if they will post the bidlists for the sororities? I have a few friends that I want to see where they went! Thanks!
|
I don't believe that UF Panhellenic has ever posted their bidlists. You might want to check individual chapter websites over the next few weeks because many of the chapters will probably list their new members.
|
Haven't seen a bid list, but am wondering if anyone has #s from Florida?? Results? :)
|
I don't know the full results, but I know Delta Zeta met quota with 56 new members! I'll see if I can find out anything about the other sororities!
|
I know Phi Mu made quota with 59

Wow, that's great. If I recall correctly, Phi Mu has not always shined in FR in past years.
|
Thats awesome for phi mu....quota was 56 and dz got 57.

good job to dz as well! their new house at uf is AWESOME!! |
As BetaRose said, UF posted a bid list last year. I had emailed the Panhellenic president & Recruitment chair asking if they were going to do it, since AUburn (I think?) had theirs online.
Anyway, if you're interested, just drop them a line. |
A number of UF and FSU sororities have bid day photos posted on this site:
http://www.flashesonline.com/Q/Proofs.aspx?GroupID=3499 The ladies look very happy! (It's amazing to me that they even look awake after the amount of work and stress they've all put in, on both sides.) |
Gott love the phi Mu Vera Bradley New Member Bags!:D

Do they take that bag and fill it with goodies? I guess I'm thinking, you buy a $45 bag, add a t-shirt and other paraphernalia, you could be spending $75 per NM, and if you get 60, that's about $4500!! That seems a little much :) Small greek world girl here though.
|
The new place to spend $$ because rush budgets have been capped???
|
Just an update...I don't know how other chapters did, but quota at University of Florida was 56, and D Phi E got quota +3 for 59 new members!!!!!!! Way to go Deephers :)
|
any recent news?
Those of you who are in, or in close contact with, chapters at UF...
Do you know of any chapters who at this time did NOT make quota? Or who initiated less than those who first pledged? I'm hoping to rush during Spring next week, and I'm praying that someone has space for me! :D Thanks a bunch! First go Gators, then go Greek! :) Christina |
christina, have you checked with the panhellenic office? they would know which chapters might have a space.
i do not believe that zta will be holding informal recruitment. |
I have :( But they never answer my questions quite right and I feel like I'm bugging them. I've also tried contacting a few choice sorority Presidents through facebook and the like, just asking if they have an information about their sorority offering bids, with either no reply, or no definite answers.
I'm not quite sure if I'm going to be waiting until the meeting to find out who'll be giving out bids in Spring, but I really wish I could find out prior, just for my own information. Honestly, you girls seem to know more than they do! And are a lot nicer at answering my questions :) |
christi86,
I dont know much about UF but I'd imagine that if they just had bid day both the presidents of the individual sororities and the Panhell office is really swamped with paperwork and other such things to do. Most greek organizations, if not all, have a pinning ceremony or some sort close to bid day plus other events. I would give them a week to settle down before you tried getting more information. |
Well, they haven't had a bid day yet, last one should have been late August with the fall recruitment. I can understand that since Spring recruitment is coming up they would have a decent amount of work to do. I just hope they can get back to me before recruitment starts...
|
Thanks very much :)
|
ooh sorry, I didn't realize how old the previous posts were!! by all means, dont follow my advice at all:eek:

christi, since you have contacted panhellenic and a few sorority presidents, just let it ride. if the opportunity arises, speak to a member of one of the sororities that josh cz mentioned when you see her walking across campus. if you know some girls on your hall in the dorm(or in your apartment complex) speak to them-don't hunt them down like a stalker, but if you see them in passing certainly ask them about informal recruitment.
approach the sorority member with a smile, introduce yourself, and tell her that you heard that some of the houses will be holding informal recruitment events soon, and does she know which houses might be participating?whatever she answers, thank her and then let it go. maybe the sorority presidents are not allowed to communicate with pnms right now, due to panhellenic rules. they wouldn't want to ruin your chances for membership or get their sorority in trouble. you are signed up for recruitment thru the panhellenic office aren't you? you know when the informational meetings will be held. you will find out lots of information at those meetings. i know that it is hard to wait, but you have done everything you can do right now. |
