I heard about this on CNN last week, and while the idea of the cover itself is appalling, what's even more ridiculous is the fact that she thinks she already merits a "GREATEST HITS" album? Sorry, don't think so.

I think she has been single-handedly ruining her own career. <laughs evily>

I'll reserve judgement until after I hear her version.

Look on the bright side, Bobby can use the royalties from this to buy more crack.

Dude, after she's covered the Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction" and Joan Jett's "I Love Rock and Roll" (both horribly), this is about two hundred steps up. This is actually something I can see her doing decently.

But Bobby thinks that "Crack is wack". No, wait, that's his wife. Nevermind!

I don't know who I'm more pissed at, Joan Jeet and the Rolling Stones for letting her do it, or her for butchering it. Probably the A&R guys at the record labels for comming up with the idea.

There are not words to describe the ghastliness of this. I hope Whitney and Bobbi Kris hunt Brit down and kick her ass into next week.

Yeah when I read about her Greatest Hits album in People magazine I was like OMGWTFBBQ?! b/c seriously she does not have enough good songs for such a thing. And she more than likely never will. Her music is fun to sing along to in the shower, but it is by no means stuff that will turn into classics. :rolleyes:

The GH album will have 2 new songs (one being "My Prerogative"), tracks from her past 4 cds, and a separate remix cd.

And this in itself is wrong.

this is why undeserving people have a GH album. the have one or two new songs recorded and they don't know what else to do with them:rolleyes:

her GH album will have: Baby One More Time, Sometimes, Drive Me Crazy, Oops I Did it Again, Stronger, Lucky, Don't Let Me Be The Last to Know, I'm a Slave, Overprotected, Boys, Not a Girl Not Yet a Woman, (maybe I Love Rock n Roll because she did release that as a single in Europe), Me Against the Music, Toxic, Everytime, Outrageous and then the 2 other songs

if that's correct, that's about 17 songs

I never understood why bands did that. But Aerosmith and The Eagles have done it a bunch. So.....whatever I guess.

Well, it's all about marketing. They know that the hardcore fans won't bother to buy a new "greatest hits" album unless it has new material, because they've probably got all of the band's albums. In order to reach out to both casual fans (who will buy the greatest hits for "the greatest hits" portion) AND the hardcore, they need more than just the same old radio singles.

Ok, so I saw the video today and I liked it. The way it was shot and the setups were cool. I could have done without the Kevin cameo. At least he wasn't wearing his usual wifebeater, baseball hat, and jeans outfit. The song itself sounds good. Bobby's version is better, but I like what she did with it.

i saw the video and enjoyed it but then again i'm a britney fan

she announced her set list for her album which will include "My Prerogative" and a new song: "Do Somethin" plus "(I've Just Begun) Having my Fun" (which has been released as a single)

i dont know if it's a southern thing or what but a lot of people (including a ton of my sisters) love Britney Spears.....well probably the music more so than her persona

I guess the song went from someone who loves to beat on women.....to a woman thats just.....beat...

i thought the video was awful because of the Kevin cameo. now i used to be a huge Britney fan, but that all came tumbling down with this last album. to me, it is like she is trying too hard and she is desparately trying to keep everyone's attention. i love Britney pre-2001. i still LOVE the first two albums. the 3rd one gives me mixed feelings. the 4th one, i want to throw in the garbage. heck i think i will.

i think i would like the video better, if it had nothing to do with Kevin. but i think what she is bringing across is just corny. doesnt she know that what she did is the 'kiss of death'? how often does putting your S.O. every really work in a video?

i do not think that this will last. married life will slap her in the face. but it is her prerogoative, so why does my 2 cents matter???
