Rush Results

Any AxiD rush results yet? I heard at Auburn they got around 30 girls not quota but more than last year. Way to go so far!!!

bekibug 08-16-2004 11:31 PM

Quota was 55 again. We matched with around 40 and of those about 32 accepted. We also snap bidded 5, so that brought us back up to about 37. (Don't recall exact figures because I was anxious to hear if my rush crush had matched with us. She did!)

Our new members are completely amazing and exactly what we were looking for. We are building on a tradition of quality new members, and if if means not making quota, that's perfectly fine. Nationals has told us they are behind us 110%.

We have a list of girls who did not recieve bids after preference and have matched them up to sisters to try to get them to come to COR events. We have one planned already for 8/17. Also, our alumnae have been trying to get up with women who dropped out or were cut later in the week. None of them (as of this post) have flat turned us down, and several have expressed interest (some were hesitant to consider because being cut out is pretty tough, and some were unable to snap bid for being out of town, etc.).

I have heard that we were not the only chapter to not make quota. I don't know if Pi Phi didn't match enough to make quota or if they matched but not enough accepted.

It did go well. We had a few girls unable to come, but one girl brought about five of her friends, so it's ok! We're having another event tomorrow night, and my roomate's already gotten a couple of girls to say they'll come, so rock on!

PinkRose1098 08-20-2004 06:54 PM

Yeah Zeta Xi! I'm so proud of my girls because they were working their butts off during recruitment and through out all this COR stuff. Keep me updated Becky (I know Angie will too)

Xi love!

Keep Theta Zeta at ERAU in Prescott in your thoughts this week. They start recruitment tonight and go thru Thursday evening..

The women of the chapter are really excited and I know that they'll do just great!!

Greensboro College

The Greensboro College Colony...yippie... had 12 ladies at the pledging ceremony. We have atleast 2 if not 3 ladies that could not make it but will be joining us soon. We are soo excited to start this colony and become sisters with all of you.

AXiDChels 09-10-2004 02:59 PM

FAU and the Theta Iota Chapter had their Formal Recruitment the first week of September, but due to Hurricane Frances they had to cancel the 3rd night through Bid Day. We are still not allowed on campus due to power outages, but we will be making up the last days of recruitment once we are back on campus and everyone is settled in once again. We are hoping to have a 20-25 member new member class which is awesome for FAU and our Chapter! We just hope that all the potentials will come back excited for the last few days of Recruitment. We are also trying to keep the positive attitudes of the sisters since we will be missing more class and work due to the reschedule of things. Its an inconvience, but in the end I hope it will work out and we will prevail with some awesome new members!

AXiDChels,
Let me know if y'all need any help for the rest of recruitment or bid day. I am not too far and I hear that your campus is still having issues from the hurricane!

UNLV Iota Epsilon FR results

Quota was 23. We took quota+2, as well as a girl that we held over from the spring. So Fall 2003's new member class will be at least 26 strong. We're now at 58 and I believe total is at 65. We COB tomorrow.

Here at the Delta Psi chapter at Texas State University-San Marcos we made quota for the first time in 3 years. We are very excited to know that all our hard work this year paid off.

Iota Zeta at Wingate brought in 7 new members through informal recruitment. I think they are planning on COB'ing a few more.

Epsilon Gamma at WCU brought in 9 new members through informal recruitment, which brings them to total.

Bekibug, what were the final #s after COR?

I don't know just yet. I missed chapter last week because of a huge calculus test I needed to study for, and it's still going on.

I do know that we're planning to really step it up, because Panhellenic voted to raise chapter total on campus since it had been the same since like the late 80's. Obviously, we've been getting a lot more girls to go through, so it was going to have to be done at some point. It just really sucks that it's right now.

EDIT: Total was raised to 170's neighborhood. Was the 140's. But when your average # of girls going through recruitment for the last 3 years is about 1100 and change, ya gotta step it up.

I see. Please keep us updated, and good luck!!!

BTW, what is total, and how far away are ya'll from it? Just curious. If you don't want to post here PM me.

University of New Orleans' recruitment was pushed back because of Ivan and right now they have no clue when they are having it.

GirlyXi 09-25-2004 01:22 PM

Good job

Good job to all you sisters on Rush week and those of you who are planning COR events best of luck.

University of Texas at El Paso

Well the ladies of the Iota Eta chapter are very pleased to announce that we recieved 21 new members and will well still have COB this coming week. This is an amazging number for our chapter since our usual number ranges from 12-15. We recieved the most ladies than the other two national sororities and we still had ladies who declined bids to join ours (but they didnt meet our gpa so they are working on it to join us in the spring) this is amazing because it just proves how Alpha Xi is a wonderful sisterhood to be apart of.

Recruitment Results

Well....we finished recruitment and we did AWESOME! Quota was set at 18 and we got quota +1!! We are up to 42 girls! And total at FAU is 40! We are so excited to have all our new girls and we hope that this semester is going to be a successful one even though Hurricane season is putting a damprer on it! We have our pink rose punch if all else fails; we have these mandatory evacuation notices so something has to be done! hehe...
Anyways, we are SUPER excited and we hope everyone did just as awesome as we did this year! Our MVP Michelle Spencer definitely needs some "props"! Our rooms looked amazing and we were very put together!
Xi Love Always and Forever!! xioxioxio

After a very successful recruitment filled with lots of hard work from our sisters, I am proud to report that Theta Phi chapter at UAB in Birmingham, AL, welcomed 20 new girls into their sisterhood. In the past two weeks, we have COR'ed 3 more girls. Quota was set at 25 this year, so we'll just need to bring in 2 more wonderful girls, and we will have achieved quota. In addition, we are now at chapter total, which hasn't happened over the past couple of years. Hard work does pay off! :D

WCUgirl 10-05-2004 04:52 PM

Thanks!

Good luck! What are the other sororities on campus?

Did I ever tell you my ex-bf went to film school there? He's the one I was lavaliered to. ;)

azdtaxi 10-10-2004 07:35 PM

At UNO the Delta Epsilon Chapter got 7 new members. Quota was 6 .... matched with 5 all accepted and 2 snap bids.

ETA : other sororities on campus are ZTA, DZ, and Sigma Kappa

bekibug 10-10-2004 10:44 PM

We initiated our new members that we got during and since formal recruitment today! Yay for new sisters!

WCUgirl 01-20-2005 01:16 PM

*bumping for Spring recruitment*

Epsilon Gamma at Western Carolina took quota of 15! That puts them at 65 sisters on a campus w/ total of 55! I believe that at the end of last semester they were the only sorority that was at total, and five seniors graduated.

Iota Zeta at Wingate's Bid Day is on Saturday, so I'll post results as soon as I have them.

edited b/c I just realized what I wrote didn't make sense.

EDIT: Wingate's quota was 5, Iota Zeta took 3.

GCrose34 01-31-2005 01:38 AM

Our First Recruitment!

We had 12 girls at our pledging ceremony tonight. Greek Council has decided on COR until Febuary 14th so we are hoping to pick up a few more girls. :)

WCUgirl 01-31-2005 10:09 AM

Yay for our newest chapter! Sounds like ya'll are doing really well.

Let me ask you this - how have ya'll been doing recruitment? Is it w/ the local sororities on campus? Is that who is part of Greek Council?

I should add that the Wingate chapter COBed 13 girls, for a total new member class of 16! :)

GCrose34 01-31-2005 11:34 AM

Greek Council is made up of Theta Xi, Alpha Xi and our 3 local orgs. We had a week of general greek recruitment ran by Greek Council and then a week of open recruitment for the groups to run however they wished. We had an open house night, philanthropy night and then preference and bid day. We had moved Pledging back a week because some of the girls went home not knowing and because of the bad weather... this weekend's wasn't much better.

We are very excited about our new member class it is the bigest new member class in campus history minus the when the two colonies were formed.

Side note for those of you following the Theta Xi boys: As of right now they have 6 new members. Thankfully they only have 3 graduating seniors this year but they still are only in the low 20s. Next year they will be losing a good number of there brothers.

MaggieXi 02-01-2005 05:24 PM

From what I have heard, the Theta Nu chapter at Elon took Quota at 40. Qouta was lower this year because the raise in GPA and the addition of Tri-Delta on the campus!
Yay Theta Nu!

bekibug 02-03-2005 07:34 PM

We don't have formal spring Recruitment, but we're doing COR this semester and have thus far picked up 5!

bekibug 02-16-2005 09:06 PM

Update-
We pledged another 3 girls today, bringing us up to 8 girls for the semester! Yay!

AUAZD2001 02-24-2005 06:51 AM

I'm proud to announce that 3 more girls have been pledged to Zeta Xi Chapter, bringing our total number of New Members for this semester up to 11. We're half way to our goal of 20 for the semester! Woo Who!
