Very Trivial Question!

This is sooo trivial, but seems to be a hot button among my friends. I thought I'd ask y'all about this.

When you eat Skittles, Jelly Beans, Smarties, or any other candy that has different flavors, do you separate and eat each color/flavor separately, or do you mix them up and eat them as they come out of the wrapper? If you do eat them separately, do you eat your favorite flavor first, or save it for last?

Xylochick216 08-15-2004 10:33 PM

I separate and save the best for last :)

qteasied 08-15-2004 10:43 PM

I like to mix it up. :D
That's just me though:cool:

I agree, I do the same thing.

wrigley 08-15-2004 11:53 PM

Mix it up. Variety is the spice of life.

I'm also a separator/save the best for last kind of person only for those candies that have different flavors. To me, Smarties all taste the same tangy flavor.

With Skittles, on the other hand, I eat the rest first, and save the grape and lime flavored ones for last.

KillarneyRose 08-16-2004 01:39 AM

I love Skittles, but toss the purple ones. Skittles are, by the way, the only candy that I'm picky lilke that abou.

smiley21 08-16-2004 07:12 AM

i toss the yellow, green, and orange ones. i know i'm picky

mmcat 08-16-2004 07:14 AM

separate...absolutely. don't like the yellow ones, though.

You can have my purples too. :)

I only eat red and orange Skittles. For my birthday, my boyfriend gave me a big bag of Skittles with all the other colors removed. :D

Kevin 08-16-2004 09:09 AM

separate.

aephi alum 08-16-2004 09:17 AM

I mix 'em up...

Lil' Hannah 08-16-2004 09:26 AM

I used to put all the red Skittles back in the bag and save them for last, but now I eat them however they come out of the bag, saving the red and/or green ones for the last out of the handful.

tinydancer 08-16-2004 10:33 AM

I separate the Skittles and save the yellow and green ones until last. I like Skittles, but they take the hide off my mouth!

Peaches-n-Cream 08-16-2004 12:59 PM

I separate M&Ms by color and eat them one at a time. I save the best, the green ones, for last. My sister makes fun of me for that. Until this thread, I thought that I was the only one who did this.

AOIIalum 08-16-2004 01:36 PM

Peaches, I do the same thing, but I always save the BROWN ones for last. You are not alone.

I tend to separate jelly beans too (because I just don't like the black, white or green ones.)

polarpi 08-16-2004 02:06 PM

Normally I mix them all up, but there are some times that I feel like separating them into colors (especially Skittles, since they each have a distinct flavor, but M&Ms don't :( )

You sound like my sister, lol.

adpialumcsuc 08-16-2004 04:51 PM

I separate them but I am not sure it is because they taste different. I think it is just habit because I do it to M&M's also and they all taste the same.

adpi*violet 08-16-2004 04:52 PM

Skittles: I only eat the red and purple ones.
M&M's: I eat all together, since they're all chocolate.
Jelly Beans: I'm VERY picky about. In fact, I rarely eat them. When I do, it's usually only Jelly Belly brand so that I can compare to the back of the packaging and pick out the flavors that I know I already like.

cuaphi 08-16-2004 04:55 PM

I seperate my Skittles by color and eat them in the order of orange, yellow, green, red then purple.
I used to divide up my M&M's by color and eat them in two's when I was little but I've kind of stopped that now.

I had no idea how common this stuff was.

Yep. And I don't give away the flavors I like..........:D

amgn253 08-16-2004 06:51 PM

I separate my Skittles and eat them in the order of: orange, green, yellow, red, purple (least to most favorite).

What is really sad is the way I eat a Twix bar. I eat the top first (the chocolate and carmel or peanut butter), then eat the chocolate all around the cookie bar, then eat the cookie.

Are any of you like that, or should I be institutionalized? :p

AGDee 08-16-2004 07:16 PM

I eat the red, buff and green skittles last...

I separate my candy bars too. I especially like to do this with Three Musketeers...

You cannot put two m&m's of different colors into your mouth at the same time.. it's not pure. If you are left with some at the end of the bag, then you can eat primary colors with secondary colors if the primary colors make the secondary colors (so you can eat a blue or a yellow with a green, a red or a yellow with an orange, etc. You can eat yellow, red or orange with a brown). You must eat two at a time, one on each side of the mouth... Yes, I am a little OCD with this!

I am soooooooooo hungry.. doing prep for a procedure tomorrow and have been on clear fluids all day. I have to stop reading food threads.

For those of you who don't care about fast food and diets who eat McDonalds' Chicken McNuggets, how do you eat them?

Do you dip the whole thing in the dipping sauce and then bite?

Or are you weird like me and you peel the outside off, eat it, and then dip and bite?

I DO THAT. I always get shit about it. I use to get all 3 sauces and alternate the dipping too but now they charge for sauce so I don't anymore. And whenever I eat a Swiss Cake Roll I eat the chocolate off, then unroll it as I eat the rest.

split them up by color/flavor then save my favorite for last. I even do this with MnMs.. even though there is NO difference :p

PoohsHoneyBee 08-17-2004 10:15 AM

I'm usually driving when I eat those candies. So, I can't exactly seperate them, so whatever comes out first.

They really don't taste any different. Except for Jelly Belly's, you have to watch out if you eat more than one at a time.

As for McDonalds and other places with chips and salsa, I'm a double dipper. :p
If you don't like it, ask for your own dip.
