Any Alumni helping out w/ Recruitment this Fall?

Saturday begins UK's Sorority Recruitment & I'm helping on Sunday (which is the first full day of Recruitment) and Thursday (preference!) Anyone else helping their local chapter w/ recruitment?

MSKKG 08-13-2004 04:09 PM

Oh, yeah! I'll be helping Epsilon Kappa chapter of KKG at the Univ. of S. C. Recruitment parties begin on the 17th. Recruitment is so exciting, and I love being with my sisters (and getting new sisters!).

aopirose 08-13-2004 04:20 PM

I went to one chapter's lock-in last weekend and it was great. We got to see everyone's skit on Sunday. All the chapters did a great job. I still laugh every time the Phi Mus do Pinky's. It's very entertaining. That school's recruitment starts this Sunday. I will be helping another chapter for their actual recruitment but that is not until September.

WhiteDaisy128 08-13-2004 04:21 PM

I'm helping out on Preference night...but it's not until September...

Tom Earp 08-13-2004 05:45 PM

Oh, yes I am!:)

Not bad for one of the old Farts.

Weekend of the 21 st. At the Pitt, Ks.

Trying to get more Local Alums involved to help out.

I am really trying to help get the Active Chapter up to Memebership Status.

Remember, it takes more many times for ALL OF US-Alums and Actives to do things for Growth.

Now is now, never is to late!:)

Good Luck To All!:)

PinkRose1098 08-13-2004 05:59 PM

Um like yeah! I'm not that old but I'm helping out this week with my Auburn girls. They're doing a great job and I am so impressed with the youngest pledge class. They really embody the spirit of Alpha Xi to me. It's so much fun to be old. Plus, I think my little sister (who's president - woo hoo!) would kill me if I wasn't here to help her keep some measure of sanity.

bluefish81 08-13-2004 08:03 PM

Yes, I'm helping out at the chapter I advise, where I'm also an alumna. I'll be up there for all except for 4 parties during the second round. Iowa State's Recruitment starts this Sunday with just under 300 women going through and 13 chapters participating. I'm excited for this year, I think our ladies will do a wonderful job!

Unregistered- 08-13-2004 08:11 PM

For the third year in a row I shall be helping out my Delta Sigma sisters this September for Recruitment.

After all, I'm a champion dishwasher and blender person...they need me!

adpiucf 08-13-2004 08:47 PM

If I am still in DC in mid Sept, I hope to assist our Alpha Pi chapter. I emailed the girls to let them know I'd be happy to help out. :)

hannahgirl 08-14-2004 12:42 AM

I'll be helping my chapter throughout all of recruitment. I'm assisting our Membership Advisor. It's going to be here in no time!

azdtaxi 08-14-2004 01:18 AM

I just went alum (I am still in school but this is my fifth year) and I get the feeling that they really don't want me to help out with recruitment. I am not going to puch myslef upon them ... I have offered ... i would love to help but if they feel they dont need it then I guess I would just be in the way.

navane 08-14-2004 02:13 AM

My chapter (Epsilon Gamma - University of San Diego) doesn't have recruitment until January 25-30, 2005. Of course, I will be volunteering to assist with recruitment at that time. However, our other area chapter (Beta Lambda - San Diego State University) has fall recruitment starting September 11. I am hoping to get in touch with the sisters there to see if I might be ale to lend a hand.

.....Kelly :)

Jill1228 08-14-2004 03:42 AM

I will be helping!

squirrely girl 08-14-2004 08:14 AM

marissa

TexasOphiA 08-15-2004 04:08 PM

I am helping out. I have worked the information tables our chapter has had during orientations. I am also attending their rush events.

ThetaPrincess24 08-15-2004 07:01 PM

I will be helping my Delta Upsilon Thetas at EKU (my chapter as well as the chapter I advise) with recruitment, possibly the second round, but definitely Third round and Preference.

cntryZTA5 08-15-2004 07:22 PM

I'll be helping our Kappa Theta chapter (the one I advise) throughout recruitment. I'll also be helping my chapter, Theta Omega for 1 or 2 days.

Both recruitments don't start until October!

KellyB369 08-15-2004 08:31 PM

I am sure I'll be helping the girls out at at least one party but we haven't gotten the email yet saying exactly when they need us. NC State's recruitment is Sept 11-17.

Tom Earp 08-16-2004 03:47 PM

Have been on the Phone with our Chapter President about this weekend BBQ Recruitment, Invited only.

I will be there, have bought Buns, One Brother Called me from Nevada and is sending a Check to defray Costs. Other Alums will be there to eat of course, LOL!:D

I will also being buying other things with the donation from him.:)

What it does for Alums to be there is to show, it is not just for Undergrades, but for Alums who care. This shows something to New PMs.

While at times, Alums seem to be a Pain in the Ass, It is always Us When push comes to shove.

Help is always welcome from Alums.

Actives just get pissed when it comes back to the good old days!!!!! LOL!:) Alums: I Told You So!

Times do change, but actually, they do stay the same!:D

ISUKappa 08-16-2004 04:05 PM

I did a few things with work week last week and will be helping the chapter I advise tomorrow night (8/17) after work. I can't help any other days, though! :(

Speechpath 08-16-2004 05:21 PM

Yep, helping at UNC and later with the colonization at NC State in Oct.

ADPiAkron 08-21-2004 08:58 PM

I will be at The University of Akron helping out as much as I can-- best of luck Hannahgirl!

aoiikristi 08-21-2004 09:03 PM

I have been helping out the new Epsilon Gamma colony of Alpha Sigma Tau at Armstrong this past week.
I helped at Alpha Lambda chapter of AOII for the last seven years...needed a break after that and somehow still ended up helping out with recruitment somewhere!
Guess I'm just hooked on recruitment!

honeychile 08-21-2004 10:07 PM

I've been told to have some comfy shoes & my lion apron ready for September's Recruitment - even though it means spending my birthday at Pref!!

Tom Earp 08-22-2004 01:08 PM

Drove down for the Afternoon.

Took all of the food for the Guys. Hell, they are college kids!!!!!!!

We had six, but had planned more. Reason some did not show up was and is below!!!!

School Sat. was move in day. Meetings fro Freshman 7:00 and then at 8:30.

Sun Meetings again for them!:(

No formal rush for Fraternities. Soroities just finished Frormal Rush.

Actives are emailing and phoning PNM to keep in touch.

Well, I am beat, 6 hours of driving, heat, mosquitos, getting eaten alive in Motel room.

Shit, oh, excuse me, but damn, getting to old for this!

Yeow, right, love it!

Well, Alums, Good For You of Who Are Helping Your Chapters and Other Chapters!:)

chideltjen 08-22-2004 02:56 PM

My fifth generation lil and another good friend are running the show this year, so I gotta help.

I'm actually on my way over to a Recruitment Car Wash fundraiser so we can have money for shirts, food, and whatnot.

Kallima 09-06-2004 12:52 AM

I went to one of my chapters recruitment practices last week and I think I'm going tomorrow night too.
I also signed on to help out for 3 of the 4 nights of the actual recruitment. It starts on Wednesday night!

GeekyPenguin 09-06-2004 01:33 AM

I'm helping at a cookout for our Gamma Gamma chapter later this month, and will also be driving back to help my chapter with a few events. I love recruitment!

Kevin 09-06-2004 09:04 AM

I went to some rush parties, but had a cold this week so didn't get to help as much as I wanted.

They still did fine. I think they're up to 28 signed at this point. Will get into the low/mid 30's by the end of next week's informal period.

azd4me 09-06-2004 12:24 PM

I will be helping the chapter I am the CA for!

Best of luck to the SDSU Gamma Phi's! I was hoping I'd be able to help with the chapter I'm an advisor for at SDSU this semester, but it turns out that recruitment runs the exact time that I'll be in Michigan for a sister's wedding :( (But I am going to go observe recruitment practice on Wednesday so I can get a *little* taste of recruitment and I'll be ready to help next semester and throughout this one wherever they need me!)

bsp-mich24 09-06-2004 06:51 PM

I will help w/ pref night if needed.:)

DolphinChicaDDD 09-06-2004 07:18 PM

I'm DYING to help someone with Recruitment. I went to all these conferences for recruitment stuff, passed the info on to my chapter, and have no one else to pass it on to now!!!:(

Since there aren't any Tri Delta chapters close to me (or at my new Univ) I'm seriously considering email the Greek Advisor at my grad school to see if the College Panhellenic needs an advisor or at least would like me to do a workshop or something regarding recruitment...I just don't want to step on any toes.

That's how I ended up helping AST as their faculty adviser! I am on faculty at Armstrong, and they are colonizing 2 NPC groups this year, they have not had NPC groups on campus for quite some time. It turned out--they were just dying for help with recruitment, and it has worked out really well. Their Greek Adviser is a Phi Mu (which is not one of the groups colonizing), so she was very positive and encouraging about me helping out.

Give it a shot--you just never know!

pinkyphimu 09-11-2004 01:00 AM

well, i am going to pref night tomorrow night for the chapter i advise. i am so excited because they had the best return rate EVER in the chapter history for the skit night parties....i just hope it continues for pref and bid day! they are an awesome group of women who really worked hard. :)

nauadpi 09-15-2004 01:22 AM

I have been invited by the eta mu chapter of adpi to help out with recruitment, so I will be in Sacramento this weekend. I am very excited by this, since I have moved too far away to help my chapter... I am really looking forward to this weekend now...

Glitter650 09-15-2004 02:05 AM

I"m helping out right now... I am champion drink server and trash collector :)

AGDee 09-15-2004 10:54 PM

I will be helping my initiation chapter with Pref and bid matching! I'm very excited about it too!

Dee

navane 09-17-2004 04:59 AM

Hooray! I was able to make it to the SDSU Gamma Phi Beta house this afternoon/evening to assist with their first round of "Letter Night" parties. The girls are just too cute! They sang a reworded version of the song, "One Way Or Another" by Blondie for the PNMs after they came in to the house. Tomorrow night is the second half of the first round. Since I have to work on my dissertation, I'll probably not be there.

Since I'm an AI, I had no idea what to do and I felt pretty clueless most of the time; but, I'm starting to get the hang of it! :)

.....Kelly :)

AChiOAlumna 09-19-2004 01:20 AM

Sure am!!

I'll be at all 3 days of Recruitment....fortunately, the Chapter Advisor lives 5 minutes away, so all the alums stay at her house for a weekend slumber party!!
