Update on the Future Legacies...

Since there are a few of us online that are pregnant, I thought this might be a great place for us to keep everyone up to date on our progress. :)

I'm having my 12 week check tomorrow. I'll post my update then.

Ladies, how is your morning sickness coming along? Are you done yet?

ASUADPi 08-10-2004 02:41 PM

Sherra how did your appointment go? Are you and your husband hoping to find out the sex of the baby before hand or just wait until the birth?

I hope everything went well at your doctors appointment :)

Tggrsluv2bnce 08-10-2004 05:39 PM

Hey ladies! I haven't been on here in a while, so I had no idea that you were pregnant, Sherra. Congratulations!!!!! I had awful morning sickness and it just really went away this week (week 17). I hope that you're feeling well. Your doctor's appointment will be fun -- you'll get to hear the heartbeat. I'm a dork, but I made my husband record it. I make everyone listen to it and they all pretend that it's the most fascinating thing that they've ever heard. My u/s is on September 10th. I can't wait. I want a girl soooo bad!!!

L&L,
Ashley

ASUADPi 08-10-2004 06:48 PM

Ashley,
How far along are you? Are you and your husband going to find out the sex of the baby on the 10th? I'll be hoping for that little legacy. ;)

Tggrsluv2bnce 08-10-2004 07:43 PM

I am 17 1/2 weeks. I am definitely going to find out the sex on the 10th! I don't have the patience to wait until its born. Besides, I've been looking at nursery bedding, etc., and it's just no fun looking at things not knowing what I'm having. There's nothing gender neutral that I've liked so far.

I did feel the baby move recently. It was weird. It felt like I was being tickled from the inside. Last Sunday in church, the baby was moving like crazy when we were singing. It loves to dance just like me!

Well my appointment went wonderfully. Our baby is very healthy and has no signs of downs or spina bifida. YAY! The sonogram was very thorough so we got a lot of great pictures, including a 3-D that looks awesome. Of course, I never get to keep those. The proud papa always steals them until I get another one. :)

Yes we want to know what it is. We really want our first to be a boy, but I'm perfectly happy with a Legacy of my own. :) I think we only care that the baby is healthy. We have another sono every 2 weeks because we are high risk. So hopefully we will see genitalia again in the upcoming month that is very distinguishable. Otherwise in 4-6 weeks we have another major sono that should tell us. :)

Tggrsluv2bnce 08-11-2004 07:50 AM

Yay Sherra! I'm so happy that everything went so well for you!!

ASUADPi 08-11-2004 08:57 AM

Sherra,
I'm so glad everything went well.

I will definately be keeping you and your baby in my thoughts with you being high risk. If you don't mind me asking, how come your pregnancy is considered high risk?

As soon as you know the sex, you will definately have to let us know. :)

skerbow 08-11-2004 10:36 AM

I had two blod clots in my lungs last september from the birth control I was on. They developed in only 3 months to a size that shocked even the radiologist. I got very lucky that my dr went with his instinct and sent me for testing. After several months, I no longer had blood clots. But because pregnancy has the same hormones, only in larger amounts, we are high risk. I do injections of blood thinners twice a day, have my blood tested every week to 2 weeks, see the dr. every 2 weeks and will be induced 2 weeks early to ensure that I dont' go into labor while I'mon the thinners. That could increase my chances of bleeding out.

Besides that, Everything is great!

honeychile 08-11-2004 10:50 AM

Isn't it wonderful, how many gains have been made in helping healthy babies being born! Our Lord is SOOOO good!!

Tigger & Sherra, you're both on my prayer list - I have this call to pray for pregnant women. Let's hear it for easy & safe pregnancies, deliveries, and babies!!

Tggrsluv2bnce 08-11-2004 02:48 PM

Thanks, Honey!!

I know what you mean! I was holding our friends' new baby at the convention last weekend, and mr. honeychile (& everyone else!) was saying how glowing I looked! Yikes!

With ya there sister (LOL)

Christy408 08-12-2004 09:33 PM

Just wanted to share that my little legacy (she's 3) sings Little ADPi since I've used it frequently while singing to her.

Now all I have to do is raise her, get her to a school w/ a chapter & make sure they sing it to her on pref night so she'll cry & pledge the chapter because it brings back all her wonderful memories of childhood...yea, that's how it will work....I'll let you know in 15 years how it turns out. hee hee..

Tggrsluv2bnce 08-12-2004 10:55 PM

I sing that to my little legacy in my stomach! Yes, I am a dork!!!

ADPiAkron 08-12-2004 11:05 PM

I just watched True Life: I'm Adopted on MTV. God bless the mother's that can give their babies up for adoption so the baby can live a better life. I could never do that!

WLFEO 08-12-2004 11:05 PM

I recommend getting the ADPi CD to play for your legacies! My daughter loves it!

This is so exciting hearing all this baby news! I will join in the prayers for everyone to deliver safely.

Keep us posted, sisters! No detail is too small - maybe some would be too gross, but none would be too small! hee hee

I have to agree that those who are expecting need to keep us up to date... The ironic part of this thread coming up is that I thought (only a month after being married) that I might be pregnant... I too have the baby fever, but right now is not the most handy time... I am not, but I didn't find that out until after I read this thread... So weird...

Co-sign!

If it's not my time to be expecting my own legacy (and it's *definitely* not), then I can most assuredly look forward to sisters who are expecting their own! :)

Me too, me too! I need to wait until November or December to try anything though.
So if my DH and I should, by the grace of God, be blessed with success, how far along will everyone else be then?
I probably wouldn't make any announcements until Januaryish.

I am due on January 17th, so if you start trying in November or December, you could find out around the same time I have my baby!! I wish tomorrow was January 17th .... :)

skerbow 08-13-2004 10:16 AM

I'm due Feb. 18th, but we will have the baby around the 5th. :)

I was adopted @ 3 weeks old. My birth mother was 16 when she had me. I cannot imagine how hard it was for her to do that, but I am thankful she made the sacrafice so I could have a better life. :)

skerbow 08-13-2004 05:11 PM

Amanda, it makes my heart smile to hear such a mature outlook on your adoption. :) I wish all adopted children could understand and accept the same feelings.

Thanks!!!! It was a blessing that she put me up for adoption. I'm glad she was mature enough at 16 years old to realize that she was not financially, emotionally, or physically ready to handle a child. I may not be where I am today if she had not realized that. Unforunately, I have not found birth mother or birth father. I have started the process, but it is a very tideous process.

My grandmother, who died before I was born (but I'm said to look just like her), was born on January 18th!

Amanda, I have no real experience in adoption genealogy, but I would certainly be happy to help you with what I do know. There are often posts on genealogical message boards that concern adoption. And I happen to know a very few counties whose adoption records are much too out in the open... ;)

honeychile 08-19-2004 10:43 PM

Ashley, how are you feeling? Did everything go well today? I know it will be two weeks before you get the results (which is just wrong!), but please remember that we're all here, praying for y'all.

Edited because I got my names confused!!

Tggrsluv2bnce 08-19-2004 10:50 PM

I found out today during the ultrasound that my future legacy is .... a boy!! I am still a little shocked because I just knew that it was girl! I don't really care either way though as long as it's a healthy baby.

The amnio wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and my doctor said that she didn't see anything that alarmed her on the ultrasound. So ... we just have to wait about three weeks to get the results.

Thanks again for all of your prayers!

L&L,
Ashley

ASUADPi 08-19-2004 11:08 PM

CONGRATULATIONS

You are having a little boy, that is awesome. :)

(love one of his many "aunties")

That is good to hear! We are all praying for you and the baby!

ADPi-Jen 08-20-2004 05:20 PM

35 weeks 3days...AND COUNTING

I can't wait to not be pregnant anymore. The dr told me today, that after 4 more days (36weeks) if I went into labor they wouldn't stop it.

I'm so tired of being pregnant, and I'm not that big and I've had a relatively "easy" pregnancy (if there is such a thing).

Good luck to the rest of you.

skerbow 08-28-2004 05:49 PM

Ashley,

We should be getting close to knowing the results of your amnio. When do you find out? How are you and your hubby doing? You have been in my prayers through all of this.

UPDATE ON BABY OGDEN: Still no word as to gender. We went and registared after our appointment last tuesday and, man do those babies need a lot of stuff! Any one wanting to come to a baby shower in the Dallas or Houston area, just pm me your information. The more sisters, the better. :D

Tggrsluv2bnce 09-08-2004 12:00 PM

Hey Sherra!! Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers. I am still waiting on my amnio results. This is the third week, and I think I am going to go completey insane waiting. We have an ultrasound appointment on Friday, so I hope that the results will be in by then. I have a real sense of peace about the whole situation though, thanks to all of the prayers. I just know that regardless of the results, everything is going to be just fine.

So, how is your pregnancy going? When will you find out the sex of Baby Ogden??? I hope that everything is going well for you. I'm getting kicked a lot by my little boy. It's awesome!

I will let y'all know if I get my results on Friday. Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers!!

L&L,
Ashley

skerbow 09-08-2004 09:33 PM

Please post on Friday, don't leave us hanging over the weekend. :)

As for my little Baby Ogden, the child is frustrating me already and it isn't even out of my womb yet. :D I'm just kidding. But, we have been trying for a month now to find out the sex with no luck. We thought we might be lucky this past tuesday, but nope, the baby wouldn't turn the right way. We have our big sono (the 18-20) on Tuesday. This one does all the anatomy and measurments. So we should know for sure this next Tuesday. It is really driving me crazy. Other than that, if the doc could get my blood levels and injections coordinated, I'd be a happy camper. Until that happens, I'm just frustrated. But I'm not sick. :D

I thought we had a few more Future Legacy Posters...where did everyone go? And as we gain more, please keep us posted as well. ;)

Tggrsluv2bnce 09-10-2004 05:40 PM

I got my amnio results and he is perfectly healthy!!!!!!!!! Praise God!!!!!!!!! Thank you all so much for your prayers, they definitely worked!!

We had our extensive ultrasound today and he was wired. He was moving so much that she could barely take the measurements. It was really cute though because at one point, he was standing on his little head!

Sherra - I'm sorry that you're frustrated! I'll say a prayer that Baby Ogden cooperates on Tuesday. At our first u/s, our baby wouldn't cooperate either. The u/s tech banged on my stomach and he finally moved and she was able to see what he was.

Thanks again for all of your thoughts and prayers. This has been the best day ever!!

L&L,
Ashley
