My two favorite college football teams: Oklahoma (BOOMER SOONER!) ... and whoever's beating Texas! At least the Aggies give us a run for the money, and we respect 'em for it! :) |

And, we actually did beat ya'll 2 years ago, but I'm sure you don't need to be reminded of that. hehehe ;) |

Lindz,
speaking of meeting up on sixth street - I'm definately going to be in A-town Sept 17-20th for ACL. Anyone else? |
Awesome! I'll definately be going to ACL. We should try to get all the Texas GCers together! :)
|
I live in Plano....going back to Nacogdoches soon for school!

I'm down for partying on 6th street anytime.
Of course, I didnt really wanna post in here. This thread lost about 60 IQ points with the discussion of A&M and the University of the Middle of Freaking Nowhere. I'm actually pulling for A&M football this year. The thanksgiving weekend game just sucks knowing this far out UT's gonna win. PLEASE field a descent team so it will be interesting. The most challenging thing going on at Royal Stadium will be how to sneak in a bigger flask. Oklahoma is Weak Reason #312 - Your beer sucks. My heart would quit working from all the potassium being washed out of my system for all the beer I'd have to drink before I got a damn buzz. |
6th street is such a blast! Holler at me if ya'll are ever down here (or up here for those of you down south). :)
And yes, this year's game will most likely be very depressing, as it has been every year since I was a freshman. :( BUT, one day we will win again! I will keep saying what I said about A&M football last year- these are REBUILDING years! They'll be great again, just give them time. ;) hehehe The only downside I've found to Austin so far are all the damn longhorns but hey, I knew that coming in. :p |
I go to school in Kingsville, but originally from Mercedes. I miss the valley sometimes.

I gotta agree with ya... Oklahoma 3.2 pisswater sucks mightily! Every OU-Texas weekend the convenience and liquor stores up I-35 make a killing selling full-strength beer to Okies. (Besides if you really hafta have OK+ (Oklahoma's designation for any beer over 3.2%) ya gotta buy it at a liquor store. Unchilled. (Bleah.) And ya better get there before 9 p.m. 'cause that's when they close. |

I grew up in Dallas (dry county) and when I first moved to College Station, it was SO exciting to see beer in the grocery stores!!! :) |

Took me forever and a day to hunt down a list of Texas counties that had any alcoholic beverage control information. The TABC website is absolutely useless. A site which has a map of the wet-dry areas and a listing of the wet/dry precincts is available at http://www.texassafetynetwork.org/to...ry/default.htm . P.S. Wylie (where I live) is dry, but does allow restaurants to sell liquor via private club (Unicard). |

Yeah, but with a new coach it gives us a new excuse to say it. ;) So wait, are you an Aggie fan or what? Cause I'm a little confused. :p |

I remember always having to go downtown with my grandparents to go to the liquor store so my grandmother could get her boxed wine. hehehe :D |

So at this point, this Longhorn is an AVID Aggie fan. Gotta love the university that gave us our Breck Girl governor. And one time I actually swore we'd never see a gov that used more hairspray than Ann Richards. Did he learn that in the corps? |

I too hope the game is interesting this year, esp since it will be the first I have experienced as a new "Austin Aggie". So glad to hear that you're an aggie fan. That makes you cool in my book. (And I'm sure you were SO concerned with that. LOL :p ) |
