Silver--I will be praying for you!

And--thanks for starting this thread.

One of the many reasons I LOVE LOVE LOVE being an AOII--you all are truly God's gift to me in more ways than you will ever know!

OleMissGlitter 08-03-2004 09:52 AM

One of the members of Xi has a very ill sister that has been placed on life support. She has very little brain activity and things are not looking good. While all the women of Xi are praying for our sister's sister, I'm sure she would love to know she is getting support from the rest of her sisters in the nation. My thoughts and prayers to those grieving, making important decisions, or just going through a rough patch in life. Situations like these just magnify the importance of sisterhood.

Alpha love,
Natalie

zinf77 08-11-2004 12:46 AM

I will keep her in my prayers.

AOTTAdvisor 08-11-2004 02:06 PM

What a great idea--all of you are my gifts from god and I thank him for you whenever I can...
My prayers and thoughts are with everyone who needs them and my love is with you all forever...

AOIIsilver 08-18-2004 07:44 AM

On the way back from Pi Kapp Centennial, Mr. Silver had an ER visit last night, and he has a BIG day ahead at work and I have to drive him there because of his injuries. Please pray for us.
Silver

OleMissGlitter 08-18-2004 09:07 AM

Please pray for a Nu Beta member. She is in ICU in B'ham, AL. She was in a motorcycle accident last Friday. Her condition is not looking very good, as her brain is swelling still. Please keep her and her family and her three younger sister in your prayers.

AOIIalum 08-18-2004 12:15 PM

Silver, I hope Mr. S feels better today. I'm thinking of you both!

Glitter, thanks for letting us know about this terrible accident. Here's hoping that the swelling goes down soon.

AOIIsilver 08-18-2004 05:38 PM

Thanks so much for the prayers. Mr. Silver has been in and out the doctors all day, and sure enough, he broke his ankle.

I am SO sorry to hear about the Nu Beta. Please keep us informed of her progress....

Silver

SnowLady 08-19-2004 01:30 PM

Is MrSliver OK? Tasha how did your decision making process go?

My thoughts are with the Xi sister and her family at this time for their tragic loss!

Now I need some. My daughter had what we thought was a dislocated finger. Apparently it's called a tringer finger (even though it's her thumb!) and we have 2 month surgery window to have it fixed before she risks permanent damage. The surgery in the grand scheme of things is not anything big - but my little girl under local anesthesia. The Dr did promise me a full general anesthesia so that i could get through it. ;) I'll let you know as soon as it's scheduled to let you know when it is.

OleMissGlitter 08-19-2004 02:50 PM

PM for a site that tells about our AOII sister's updates... I don't want to post it on here for fear of weirdos posting strange stuff on the site...

PiPhiJulie 08-19-2004 04:47 PM

Prayer request

I wanted to tell you that I have been praying for the Nu Beta chapter and will continue to do so. I would love to hear how she is doing.

nhpgator 08-19-2004 08:16 PM

sorry for not updating sooner...

everything worked out wonderful... my pastor and i prayed together that God would open one door so wide i couldn't help but fall through and close one soo tight that no air could even sneak through and of course God provided...

I have taken a job teaching at a local private school... big pay cut... but i am loving it.....

i am also coaching varsity volleyball. It is great... nothing i EVER thought I would do... but so far it is amazing (ok so it has only been one week but so far so good.) thanks for your prayers.... I told the school when i accepted the job that I had sisters all of the country praying for me.... they looked at me kinda strange.. so i explained... i am sooooo truly lukcy to have you all

tasha

ps all of your prayer requests are on my heart as well.....

AOIIsilver 08-19-2004 08:44 PM

wonderful...wonderful....I am so glad that you have a happy job. :D

Let's keep praying for our sisters in need. Prayer works! :)

Oh no! I'm glad to hear it's apparently easily fixed, even though anesthesia is always scary. Let me know if I can do *anything*.

I have been so busy that I haven't been on here in a few days, and it looks like a lot has happened.
I did hear about the Nu Beta sister who was in a motorcycle accident, I received an email from HQ about it.
Snowlady--I am so sorry about your daughter. I remember how frustrated you were with that when I was up there. At least now you know what it is. Hang in there, I know having your child go through surgery is heart-wrenching, I've been there too!
I will be praying for you!

Roses,
K

NeonPi 08-20-2004 11:25 AM

Lots of prayers from up north here for everyone - Heidi - I know how precious your little one is - knowing that she is a trooper like her mommy, she'll be out in the sandbox in no time ;) Stay strong!

Please continue to keep Meridith in your prayers...here is an article in today's Daily Mississippian....

AOIIalum 08-30-2004 11:58 PM

The mother of one of my dearest friends went into the hospital for an outpatient procedure last Wednesday. Unfortunately, there were some serious complications which landed her into the ICU by Saturday. I just learned that she suffered even more complications this afternoon/evening. Because of the latest complications, her doctors intubated her and placed her into a coma.

For those of you who pray, please remember Tracy's mom in your prayers. If you're like me and not necessarily the prayer type, I'll ask you to please send some positive healing thoughts and good wishes her way. Thank you all for reading this.

Roses,
Christin

Any updates on baby panda fingers, jobs, Nu Betas, or sick friends?
Roses,
Silver

SnowLady 09-06-2004 10:09 PM

Well, BabyPanda ;) has hand surgery on October 4th.

But I understand that AOIIAlum might need some healing prayers for a car accident this weekend. Speedy Recovery! Hope everyone is OK! (were you alone or with the fam?)

AOIIalum 09-07-2004 09:05 PM

Lots of luck on the 4th, and let me know if you need *anything*.

Update on friend's sick mother--she's improving and hopes to be moved into a private room in the next day or so. No real answers still, but getting out of ICU is progress!

New news on a fellow XE Corporation officer--her grandmother is gravely ill and isn't expected to survive the week, her father was hospitalized suddenly last night/this morning, and on top of these her grandfather has also taken ill. Needless to say she's gone to be with her family in this difficult time. Please keep her and her loved ones in your thoughts.

New news on me--yep, was rear ended on Saturday afternoon in heavy traffic. I'm still a bit sore but don't seem to be seriously hurt. Luckily I was alone, I'd begged K to go out with me and he's so little for his age, who knows if he'd been hurt or not. The van has what is hopefully minor damage that can be easily taken care of by the other guys' insurance. Of course, it's put a crimp into my plans to get the new House Director trained and the chapter house ready to open on Sunday, but that's life in the big city :) Thanks for all of your love and PMs!!!

Roses,
Christin

AOIIsilver 10-10-2004 09:17 PM

How is the baby panda thumb?

How are the friends and relations for whom positive thoughts or prayers have been given?
:)
Roses,
Silver

SnowLady 10-11-2004 11:48 AM

Little Baby Panda's thumb is great! The surgery lasted less than 30 minutes and by the time she'd had lunch that day she was back to normal! We go tomorrow for follow up.

Updates from the rest please, too!

Beryana 10-16-2004 07:57 AM

Could everyone keep my brother in your prayers? He's getting deployed November 29th-ish. We're all getting together for a big Thanksgiving and holding off on Christmas until he gets back. . . .

Thanks!

Sorry to crash, but I'm sure you were praying for Mr. Silver. Please tell him that I got three votes in on time, and I wish him the best of luck!!

ps - needless to say, your inbox is full again! ;)

SnowLady 12-30-2004 09:12 AM

Ladies, AOIIKristi needs your prayers today.

She's on her way to the hospital with her new little baby that has tested high for PKU. They are hoping that it was a false positive and they will do more tests on her today (Thursday). Please give this little legacy your thoughs and prayers as she goes through testing and awaits the outcome.

AOIIalum 12-30-2004 09:57 AM

Please let us know how Elizabeth is doing. My thoughts and best wishes are with all of them right now.

NeonPi 12-30-2004 04:38 PM

Fingers crossed and prayers agoing for Kristi and Elizabeth and family!

aoiikristi 01-04-2005 01:26 PM

Thanks so much for the prayers!
As it turns out, Elizabeth does have PKU (phenylketonuria). What that mean for us is that she will be on a special diet for her entire life.
It will be an adjustment for all of us, but we've already received such an incredible amount of support that I'm sure she will be fine. Emory is THE leading research facility in the country for this, and that is where we will be taking her. Not to mention, I've received so many phone calls and emails in the last few days, many from AOII's.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers, and thank you to all of you--it reminds me of how truly blessed I am to have AOII in my life!

OleMissGlitter 01-05-2005 10:36 AM

She will be in my prayers. :)
