Truly Sickening
???
|
I'm really sorry to hear about this. :(
It's terrible that there are some people who do things like this. Hopefully the police will be able to catch the perpetrator(s). |
WHAT?!?!!?!??!
Surely you all must have called the police, right??? The "Karma is a _____" comment leads me to believe that it was retaliation for something your chapter did. Certainly someone in your chapter must have some idea of who would vandalize your house and cars given that this is some sort of payback. In Greek systems, rumours of discontent travel pretty quick, or, it could be someone who didn't get a bid or something (but it's the middle of summer!) Anyway, this is truly awful for you and I am very sorry that you all have to endure this. :( Take photos for your records and make sure you file those police reports. The Sigma kappa house moved after I graduated, where is it now? Sending my positive thoughts, .....Kelly :) |
Sorry to hear that happened to your chapter. That is really terrible!
|
Did they use spraypaint or something eraseable?

OR the Sigma Kappa house was just on a main throughfare that made it easy to get away, OR someone has a thing against sorority girls, OR some girl THINKS it MAYBE was a Sigma Kappa who "stole" her boyfriend. Kelly, you and I never agree. :) But we DO agree that it's a maddening thing someone would do that........ I'm so sorry to hear it. Wish I was there with my girls to lend a hand and clean up.... |
That is terrible. I feel bad for you and your sisters.
|
That is horrible. I hope whoever did that gets what's coming to them.

But the vandal is right. Karma is a bitch, and this will come back to that person. |
They decided to have some fun? Let me quote Susan Sarandon in Thelma and Louise:
"You have a f*cked up idea of fun!" I hope they catch the bastards! |

Jiminy crickets.....I try to be concise for once and I still get the commentary. I didn't think I was going to have to list the 1,000 reasons why someone may have done it. :p I wasn't trying to imply that the chapter must have done something to deserve this. :( I'm just thinking that it seems retailiatory (deserved or not) as opposed to some random kids on a main thoroughfare looking to tag a house. Plus, not everyone is going to know the phrase "Sigma Krappa". Quote:
CASIGKAP, I don't care who did it! It was a low thing to do! If you all don't even know why it was done, then the vandals' efforts went to waste. I am truly sorry and hope that all of the property can be restored as soon as possible. .....Kelly :) |
Ouch...
My big bro and I passed by your house today Casi...
We didn't see anything - but then again, I can never remember which one your house is, because it's not marked by letters... Sorry to hear that though... |

Obviously, it's someone who's been in our greek system for some time... GO BEACH!!! |
Not to get off the subject, but they use "sigma krappa" at my school too. kind of funny though it makes me want to start a thread where you list unofficial nicknames for your org :)
no disrespect of course :) |

I just want to offer my support to you girls that you find these twisted jerks and they get what they deserve! |
Yeah i figured that someone had to have that idea before, so I looked it up.
|
im sorry that happened to ure house, but there must be some really jealous people out there to actually do that to u guys.
like they say, jealousy is a sickness..get well soon.. when u guys find outwho it is that did it, send them a get well card |
You and the rest of the sisters are in my thoughts, that's just simply awful. :(
And this is not the time to be throwing around crass nicknames for our chapter, or anyone else's for that matter. But thanks for playing. |
There's never a good reason to do something like this and I am sure eventually *hopefully* the person(s) will be caught. I remember when I was a new member, a few sisters had their tires slashed in front of our house. It turned out to be an ex of one of the sister's who was mad she started dating someone new and he retaliated against her and her closest friends in the sorority. I hope you girls find out who did it and make sure they are made an example of.
|
Well...
Again, sorry to be so blunt, but being in our Greek system myself... I definitely do not think it's jealousy...
Someone must have plain and simple pissed someone off... |

Thanks for your opinion. I'm sure the girls will keep it in mind. But honestly, it doesn't matter the reason. Only the people who committed this crime can say for sure. And I hope that some of the other Greek organizations on campus reach out to these girls so maybe you'll become a closer Greek population. Make something good happen out of this awful experience. |
We had a similar type of action made against us as well recently. Our house and the Alpha Gamma Rho house both had signs and other stuff stolen one night. The Pikes & Sig Eps are known to pull these kind of pranks on our campus. Also, the Kappa Sigmas or someone that claims to be one is also posting immature, negative comments on our chapter's internet forum.
It's pointless, it makes the entire Greek system look bad. I have encouraged fellow brothers to not retaliate because it does no good. We are supposed to be leaders on campus, right? I guess some still enjoy acting like children. I am pushing the campus to allow myself to establish a special security/escort service that will also keep an eye out for this kind of activity. An old friend from WKU did this back in his day and actually saved a woman's life from a serial killer/rapist. |
What this person or these people did is absolutely disturbing! It is also very inexcusable!
I hope the police catch the culprit(s) and bring him/her/them to justice. |
I'm so sorry this happened to you and your sisters. :( Hopefully whoever did this will be brought to justice.
|
Sorry to hear about that.
|
We have come to the conclusion that it was specifically aimed at one person in particular but the culprit decided to vandalize everything. We think we know who it might be but have no proof.
I do believe that whomever did this does have a grudge against a particular person & not the chapter as a whole. This does not make it right but everyone is entitled to their opinion about us on campus. Thanks to all of you who have offered your support. |
I can totally relate to your story. Last year during fall formal recruitment, a group of people went all over our campus writing "EAT sucks". Our campus is miles long and wide and they did not seem to miss any spots. They even went to our off-campus house and wrote it on the sidewalk there. It was done during one of our phases and all the sisters spent the night going from one end of campus to another pouring water to try and erase the words. Unfortunately we missed a few, but it was amazing to see how supportive the other Greeks were. We got flowers and cards from most house. Even though we never found the people who did it, we had support from Panhel, IFC and all the other sororities. A meeting was held to discuss the issue and a general response was created for any PNM that may have seen the words or questioned the incident. One positive thing that came from the negative was that our sisterhood was never stronger. We all came together and it showed that everyone loved the house and didn't care what other people wrote with chalk. At least our sisterhood can't be erased with water!

How come this isn't listed in a police blotter for your school?
-Rudey |
If the house isn't on the campus it wouldn't be on the police blotter.
|
r u talking to me?

Long Beach doesn't allow a Greek Row and the houses are not on campus. We are close to school (2 miles tops) but are school is not Greek-friendly. The only time the newspaper at school prints stuff about Greeks is when it's bad or when it's strictly informational i.e. RUSH dates.
Also, none of the houses are next to each other. We're all separated throughout the city. |

Long Beach State Greeks...
Casi, I have been involved in the student government (ASI) since freshman year, and am VERY VERY involved on our campus...
1) The school is GREEK TOLERANT... Your statement about it not being greek friendly is not ridiculous, but it is a bit overblown... President Maxson is one of the BIGGEST supporters of Greek Life on campus... He ALWAYS makes it a point to remind everyone that he is a Greek himself, and that "if all you do is go to class, you're not getting a full education"... That's his signature greek life and student extracurricular activity promotion line... * I have seen and heard of schools that are VERY VERY anti-greek, and the differences between their schools and ours are great... These schools I speak of don't even allow greek housing, refuse to accept new greek organizations, and do everything in their power to destroy the greek system... That is NOT the case at Long Beach State... There is a difference... 2) We have TRIED to fight for a greek row, but in our current situation with other priorities, and the LACK OF OPEN LAND in Long Beach (we are an old coastal community, so there's no more room to establish a greek row unless we get lucky and buy some land from someone), it's just not an option at this time... President Maxson has wanted one, and past A.S.I. presidential candidates have expressed their intentions to try for a greek row, but the situation does not allow... We still need more on-campus housing, more parking, etc... That comes first... That doesn't mean our campus is not greek friendly - it just means we don't have the capability to establish one at the moment due to other priorities... 3) Reiterating one of my points above, we have no more LAND... SDSU recently established a greek row because they are in a VERY DRY and open valley area... We are on the coast, where everything is smashed up against the ocean... There's no open land to build on in an old established city like Long Beach... Unless we BUY land from someone... 4) We may not be popular with the satirists that write in the Long Beach Grunion (which makes a mockery out of EVERYTHING on campus anyway - because it's a strictly satirical publication), but that doesn't matter... There are always going to be anti-greeks, but that doesn't mean the campus is anti-greek... The Daily 49er writes very neutral articles on greek life... And people in general find the greek system intriguing, whether or not they admit it... 5) We are in fact spread out throughout, and that makes it more difficult for our school to deal with the city... If we were all together, things would be easier, but we're all in different neighborhoods where the neighbors BITCH all the time about our social functions... In result, they complain to the city and the school, and that makes things complicated... A big reason why the big fraternities on campus (including mine) have had social probation is because of problems with neighbors... |
Yeah...
Trust me, if there were any people who had the reason to be discontent with greek affairs, it would be people in the "big fraternities" (not just in size, but in reputation)... Which, if you ask any one in our 3 houses, they would agree ... By those three houses I mean TKE, SAE, and SIG EP...
We've all suffered through sanctions from the school... And we all have our rantings about IFC issues... And no, we're not content... But a lot of that has to do with the fact that there are POLITICS involved, and bitchy neighbors which FORCE the school and our respective councils to act, unless a loop hole is found... We can only point to the fact that we're separated and we all have to deal with neighbors... That's the biggest issue in my opinion... Once again, TRUST ME, if you had any idea about the IFC, you'd know that MY HOUSE and SAE have the MOST to bitch about!!! I'm talking sanctions up the yin yang!!! But i'm not going to be negative and claim that it's the school that's doing it on purpose - it's a little more complicated than that... Anything else I would have to say would be politically sensitive and would not be appropriate for a public forum... |
Call the local Theta Chi chapter. You are our little sisters and we will beat up whoever did this!!! Step on the rattle snake, you will get venom.
|
I'd hate to say this...
I'd hate to come across the wrong way, but the Theti Chi chapter on our campus is less than 20 guys I believe...

You've really come across the wrong way. All of your posts come across in a negative manner & it sounds like you think that this Sigma Kappa chapter deserved this treatment. Its really sad that the Greek life on your campus is so childish & sour. |
