Michael Moore vs Bill O'Reilly

Who saw it on the O'reilly factor last night?

I personally thougth Bill made an ass out of Moore, but that's jsut my opinion..........maybe that's why no one has posted about it yet in here as it's own thread :)

I think they both don't understand each other and believe each other to be the nut job. There were points of the interview both were speechless after something the other said. That was a rare moment for both.

Personally I think they both looked foolish after they acted some of the times.

I know Moore has been resisting him forever. Is there a transcript or anything from the show? I can just see the 2 shouting at each other. This was probably hilarious.

I know the video is on foxnews.com

Apparently Moore was only "resisting" O'reilly because O'reilly hadn't actually watched Moore's film....

well he did walk out of the NY premiere of Farenheit 9/11 from what I understand.

Anyway, they both looked foolish if you ask me. They both cornered eachother on different points but they both looked like asses and I think they pretty much did that on their own. I think for the most part it was very civil though and they did shake hands at the end.

I thought it was the most "nothing" interview I've ever seen. There was no substance to it, nothing was revealed, nothing was even properly debated. They just kind of fumbled around their own opinions and didnt actually have too much back and forth. People are making such a big deal only because we're now EXPECTED to make a big deal over Michael Moore even though he just looked like a stubborn idiot, nothing too special. The interview with Ben Affleck last night was 10x better and even that one made me cringe a little.

Checked out the video on foxnews.

Wasn't a bad interview. It highlights the fact that folks just see things differently right now.

O'Reilly actually did go back a second time and see the rest of the film as he stated on his show(tv and radio show).

I'm getting sick of seeing him doing all these press conferences, etc. If he was any more obvious about wanting to get into politics, I don't know what I would do.

At least he doesn't live full time in Boston, I don't have to deal with it all year.

DeltaSigStan 07-29-2004 03:21 PM

I would like to see those two get in the ring. I think O'Reilly's size will allow him to run around the ring until Moore, after running ten feet, collapses from exhaustion.

DeltAlum 07-29-2004 04:14 PM

I'd like to see the interview when I have time.

I did see a sound bite -- can't remember where -- where O'Reilly confirms that he really did see Moore on the street, stopped his car, jumped out and asked him to come do the interview. O'Reilly gave Moore a fair amount of credit to agreeing to do it on the spur of the moment.

But, boy, you talk about an odd-couple.

bethany1982 07-29-2004 10:13 PM

I think Moore is an ass, but Bill O can cross that line too. The interaction was pretty good. I didn't think that either one got the upper hand.

Possibly why Moore finally agreed to do the interview?

Love_Spell_6 07-30-2004 12:57 PM

I think the interview looked like two kids squabbling LOL.. but I think at the end O'Reilly really summed it up well...that people can look at the two points and agree with whomever they want. The biggest problem I had with Michael Moore was that he kept asking him would he sacrifice his own children. It angers me when folks talk about people in the military as if they are sacrificial lambs forced to be there! They signed up! They don't complain when they're getting the perks and discounts LOL! If you don't want to go to war...DONT JOIN THE MILITARY!

Ok my tangent is over..but everytime Moore said that it irked me!

krazy 08-02-2004 06:04 PM

True, according to most media outlets, our military is made up of a bunch of children... What is this about? I felt the interview/debate was tasteful, and both sides were respectful. I also thought it was a timely debate, especially at the convention. It was good to see a healthy debate in the middle of all the cheerleading that is so prevalent at these Political Conventions. I am glad that, during the convention, fox brought so many differing opinions on air to debate the topics being discussed. IMO, it proved much more informative than simply running the speeches as if they were news. I hope the do the same during the RNC.
