any cute RHO CHI reveals?
 

i was wondering how your rho chis on your campus reveal themselves. like do they just go in groups and say what chapter theyre in or do they have a little chant they say? im asking cuz at my school before the rho chis even reveal themselves the names of their recruitment counselors are on a big sheet of paper and the potentials guess what chapter theyre in. then rho chis go individually and say what sorority. some even switch letters to fool them and then switch back. funny huh?

well on my campus its a lil more brutal!!! hahah.

the rho chis wear a sweater or a jacket and then they take em off and run towards their sorority wearing the matching bid day shirt.....but as they are running the whole sorority runs towards that one person and tackle her! The frat guys always get a kick out of it...its fun...nobody really gets injured!!!

The year I rushed the Rho Chi's @ UK did a cheer during which each Rho Chi was revealed. The cheer was really funny & what is even funnier is the Rho Chi's were wearing T-Shirts of other GLO's. So if you didn't listen in the cheer you probably thought they were in the wrong GLO!

We have bowls and the new New Members are given 4 two colored sheets of paper: 2 red ones for Alpha Phi, 2 blue ones for Gamma Phi Beta. Then they stick them in a bowl that the Recruitment Counselors are standing in front of to guess which sorority. Then the Recruitment Counselors take off the jacket or whatever they're wearing and have their sorority's bid day shirt underneath.

It was funny because when my big sister did it, she had a bowl full of red with one random blue one tossed in. The new girls are usually right, because it's pretty easy to see who fits in with who when there's only 2 sororities.

Our Rho Gamma's stand in front while the woman who is in charge of recruitment, starts to tell us of how eager they all are to get back into thier real letters. Thier letters are all upside down and lining the back wall. She finally "frees" them and tells them to all go and get thier letters. So of course to confuse us they all put the wrong letters on. Then she tells us that they're not wearing the right letters and they switch again... into the wrong letters. The third time they're finally all wearing their real letters. THEN we can open our bids.

Are the girls getting hurt?

We didn't do anything that cute. It's sort of boring. The Rho Chi's came to give us our bids individually wearing their letters. We guessed what house they belong to and if we guess correct, they give us some candy...nothing exciting. I wish we did something like I hear at other campuses like the run to your new house, etc...

I was easily able to guess one of my RC's because the sister that was giving me a house tour at my RC's house acted like my RC. I asked my RC about that and she said that the sister who gave me the tour was one of her good friends. It was really cool.

i was a pi chi this past year. we had the girls after every round guess what sorority we were in. then on bid day we met with our girls early. we had on like 5 shirts with the final one with our real letters on it.

when my co-pi chi and i got to the 4th shirt we were like ok that's it. . .they were all so surprised! then we got about half way over to where we were supposed to give out the bids and we revealed our true letters. ha ha ha. . .the looks on their faces were priceless!

i dont know how they did it before, since this past year was the first recruitment with a new greek advisors, but at the end of bid day around 7pm we had a panhellenic wide candle light service, and all the Rho Gammas gave these big long winded speeches and revealed themselves, then ran to their groups.

Just wanted to let you know that there is a Latin sorority called Latinas Promoviendo Comunidad/Lambda Pi Chi Sorority, Inc. and their official nickname is Pi Chi.

I know they don't have any chapters in Colorado, but I just wanted to let you know so that there wouldn't be any confusion between your recruitment counselors and members of this sorority.

UCF's is fun. After all the PNM's have opened their bid cards in (the groups are set up in on building in different classrooms), they are led into a large gym, where they sit in the bleachers according to sorority, under signs the recruitment counselors have made. The new members usually start their own cheer-off where they sing their sorority song loudly, hoping to drown the others out. (During the week, the counselors have taught the PNM's one song for each sorority).

Panhellenic Exec comes out and makes some speeches, thank you's, etc., and the Pan Exec does their reveal. Next, the Recruitment Counselors are announced, with the understanding it is time for their reveal. They come running in, in a loud, unorganized mob (there are between 30 and 40 of them!) wearing the wrong letters, run a quick lap near the new members and run back out, put the right shirt on, come back in and are introduced by sorority and name.

The entire group takes the Panhellenic oath, and then the new members are dismissed by sorority with their newly reaffiliated counselors to run down to Greek Park and be greeted by their chapters for Bid Day activities.

My group did a sort of "Rho Chi Scavenger Hunt" thing on Pref Day after the parties were over and we'd signed our pref cards. Our Rho Chi left us clues at a few different dorms on the Hill and we had to follow them to find the dorm that her sorority was located in. It was fun things that were clues about different sororities, so for example one was "Go to where the owls hoot and wishes come true to find the last clue," so we headed over to the Chi O dorm to find it. We had guessed her affiliation earlier that week, and only one of us got it. She was a DDD and the only one of us that figured it out pledged there.

after all the bids are distributed on bid day, the rho chi's line up (all still wearing their recruitment tee shirts). Then they go down the line and do a cheer from their house and take off their recruitment shirts to reveal shirts with their letters! Very cute :) We also do that thing where we try to guess what houses our rho chi's are in!

All sororities and fraternities gather behind our main building on campus. The greek advisor will come out and announce each new member's name and the sorority she will be in. The Rho Chis then line up and reveal themselves after the new members yell their guesses. A big surprise this past semester was when our greek advisor was wearing his LXA letters underneath his shirt and revealed himself. Not too many people knew he was greek.

Last summer I was a Gamma Chi (Greek Counselor) at the University of North Alabama. My "buddy" and I exchanged jerzees to do our reveal, but later changed our minds. The whole Recruitment team decided to put our respective sorority's Bid day tee on under the recruitment week tee, and reveal that way. After being tackled by my roommate, who I had not been able to talk to in a month (we couldn't talk to, or see our sisters after a certain date due to silence restrictions), and a whole buch of other sisters who were crying as much as I was, I was back. It felt so good that day!!!!
But the friends I made during my summer from other sororities are wonderful. That summer was full of memories and fun. We even all went on a teamwork building ropes course trip, and later came up with nicknames for everyone. We had shirts made with the Gamma Chi letters on the front, and our nickname on the back (like our own jersey, since we couldn't wear our letters all summer either!), and to this day, no one knows the meaning behind my nickname. That was part of the rules of last summer----what happens with the Gamma Chi's, stays with the Gamma Chi's. A wonderful experience!!!

i was a rho chi last year and what we did was after we walked the girls into the theatre and all the new girls sat with their houses we all ran up on stage in zipped up hoodies. one of us would come up to the front of the stage and everyone would scream out where they thought they were from and then they revealed their jerseys which was pretty cool. i remember when i did it so many of my rushee girls cried bc they thought i was a member of another org and i wasnt so hehe

When I went through they did a silly fashion show where they wore these horrible costumes...and then peeled off pieces and pieces from the costume to reveal their letters.

My senior year the Rho Chi's then, now Rho Gam's, had a candle lighting ceremony. Only the Rho Gam's, new members, and the Rho Gams big or little sister were there. They passed the candle and then the big or little of the Rho Gam came up and blew the candle out over their shoulder. Then obivously they got their respective chapters bid day shirt and then when the new members ran out to their new chapters the Rho Gams ran out with them!

We hold revealing in the courtyard in Greek Park where we have a little stage set up. All of the sororities cluster around the front of the stage, it's really crowded and hot in the FL sun! All of the Pi Chis are announced with their partners, in order of group number. Two of them go up on stage and the rest of the Pi Chis are in a line behind them singing a song. The Pi Chis are wearing the Recruitment shirts over their letters. The last line of the song cues them to take off the top shirt, and reveal their letters, then they go back and stand in line. After all the Pi Chis reveal, Exec goes, and then once everyone is revealed, the Pi Chis and Exec clump together by sorority and run to their chapters!
Sororities make signs for their Pi Chis and Exec, but they usually say stuff like "I want my big back," "I want my little sis back," "I want my roommate back," so they don't reveal the Pi Chis before they're supposed to!

At my university, all the bid day stuff starts at the soccer field... So the almost new members (they haven't opened their bids yet) are in the stands and the sororities are down in the field... Then the recruitment counselors come and stand in a line in the middle... They are wearing a good 5 to 6 layers... Each layer is a different sororities shirt... Then the music starts... They have way too much fun slowly taking off each shirt... Whenever a sorority sees there letters they start to cheer... Then they finally get down to the last shirt at the bottom and it is there chapter's bid day shirt... Also, all week the pms have been guessing what chapters the recruitment counselors are from...

at my school (San Diego State University) when the rushees come to pick up there bids their Rho Chis are wearing lettered sweatshirts which makes the girls in her rush group think she belongs to a certain house...then to all the rushees surprise all the Rho Chis go up on stage...they ALL sing rush songs from the houses on campus and when a Rho Chis own sorority song is sung she takes of her "fake" sorority sweatshirt revealing her own sorority's bid day shirt...she then joins the girls from her house and her new pledges!!! It is really exciting and fun since all the girls from all the houses are cheering on the Rho Chis that belong to their particular house.

This is super sweet!

At Chico State on bid day, the rushees get into their rush groups and all the Chi Rho's stand is a line facing them wearing their "Chi Rho" shirts (you can tell they have something on underneath them). They all start singing one of the houses songs and the girls who belong to that house, take off their shirt and reveal their letters (that are underneath on their jearsey's). It's actually really cute and fun.

At my university, the Rho Gammas all stand in a line and sing a song that incorporates all of the houses, when the song gets to their house, the RG steps forward and takes off their recruitment shirt to reveal their chapter's bid day shirts.

At my school, after all the girls get their bids and are welcomed to their chapter they go to one of our auditoriums. Our Rho Gammas, recruitment counselors, are hiding off stage. Our Greek Advisor than says that they're reading to go back to their chapter. And all four NPC sororities start to do their chants louder than everyone else. The lights get turned off and a large piece of butcher paper comes out with someone hidden behind it. When the lights go on, it has the mascot and letters of one of the sororities. So then that sorority starts screaming and chanting louder. Usually there's a few girls who aren't from that chapter that pretend at first to get everyone more anxious and then finally the first rho gamma breaks through the paper and their chapter is already runnning towards them and mauls them. This happens for all 13 Rho Gammas and our people on our PHC board. Sometimes its 2 girls at a time from the same chapter and sometimes its just one. It's crazy and fun. And I always think someone is going to get hurt just cause its chaotic. But no one has and I love it.
