Halle Berry is everywhere! Check her out on the covers of Jet, Ebony and Harpers Bazaar magazines. Halle’s new movie Catwoman opens in theatres on Friday the 23rd. The movie also stars Sharon Stone and Benjamin Bratt. Halle is on a roll--- a hot new movie and a hot new romance with actor Michael Ealy. The 30 year old graduate from the University of Maryland is best known for his role as “Pretty Ricky” in the Barbershop movies. This is the first time he has dated an actress, and the fact that Halle is older does not bother him at all, because he likes older woman. Halle is 37. Halle and Michael will be starring in the new Oprah Winfrey television movie Their Eyes are Watching God. Last week Halle’s soon to be ex-husband singer Eric Benet sat down with ABC’s Primetime Thursday to talk about being married to Halle. Eric says he is not a sex addict. Yes, he cheated, but he did not have intercourse with the other women. Eric stated he made a stupid painful mistake. He says it was hard being “Mr. Halle Berry.” Eric is speaking up because he wants to clear his name. He is working on a new album that is due out in January. Eric says he and Halle were having problems in the bedroom and at one point during the interview he started to cry. Eric says he is going to move on with his life with his daughter and that he doesn’t want any money from Halle.


Actress Nia Long has a new love and he’s a new singer on the music scene. Nia is dating singer Ricky Fante he sings the song, “It Ain’t Easy.” He’s a cutie and I hear Nia is very happy. I wonder what happened to her son’s father. At one point they were engaged to be married, but now that relationship is over. (TONYB, is Ricky Fante your STAGE NAME or your INCOGNEGRO ALIAS:p)


Grace Williams the ex-wife of talk show host Montel Williams is talking about her former marriage to the talker. Grace was married to Montel for several years and they had two children. Grace caught Montel cheating and she ended the marriage. Grace says she has been quiet for too long. She is living a new life now with her 26 year old record producer husband and their 4 month old child. The 40 year old ex Mrs. Williams now owns a record label and she has been out promoting it. Grace claims Montel doesn’t date real women because he would rather be with young girls who are impressed with him. When asked about his battle with multiple sclerosis, she laughed and said her ex was a hypochondriac who still finds time to go the gym, mountain climb and chase women in nightclubs. Grace says Montel is on TV everyday telling people how to cope with their lives and his own family is a mess.


A publicist for gospel singer Yolanda Adams has released a statement regarding the marital status of Yolanda and former football player Tim Crawford. After 7 years of marriage, the couple is divorcing citing, “irreconcilable differences.” They have a young daughter. If this wasn’t bad enough she has had to deal with vicious gossip being spread about her by her former mother-in-law. Friends of Yolanda say Mrs. Crawford should have a talk with her cheating son because he’s the reason the marriage ended.


Now speaking of divorce, hold those divorce papers for Vanessa Williams and Rick Fox. Sources say Vanessa may be giving Rick another chance despite the fact there are published photos of him kissing another woman. Can this marriage be saved? The two have been leading separate lives throughout the marriage.


Congrats to Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb and his wife Roxie. The couple, who has been married for a year, is expecting their first child this fall.


The age barrier has been raised on American Idol. The age limit for contestants used to be 25 now it has been raised to 28.


Vivica A. Fox is gearing up for her role as a bridesmaid for the wedding of Star Jones and investment banker Al Reynolds. Vivica is currently starring on the Lifetime Show 1-800-MISSING. The big wedding is happening this fall. Star is also gearing up. She has been losing weight and so far she has lost over 75 pounds.


Tennis sensation Serena Williams has been dating director Bret Ratner for a while. He’s best known for the Rush Hour movies and he was recently caught snuggling with supermodel Naomi Campbell. Will Serena have to keep a closer eye on her man?


Will Smith is really Mr. July. His movie I Robot took in over $52 million at the box office. This was his best box office opening ever. Will has two new projects coming out in the next year, including an animated feature with Angelie Jolie and Jack Black, plus the romantic comedy The First Last Kiss with Eva Mendes.

Chris Rock will be teaming up with Adam Sandler for a remake of the movie The Longest Yard. The 1974, prison football movie starred Burt Reynolds.


In addition to designing a new line of maternity clothes, Holly Robinson-Peete and her husband football player Rodney Peete are gearing up for baby number four due early next year.


Frankie Beverly sends his thanks to everyone who has been praying for the recovery of his percussionist McKinley Williams. McKinley suffered a heart attack on stage at the Essence Music Festival. McKinley and Frankie have been friends for 45 years and he has been with Maze since the beginning. He says they expect McKinley to rejoin the group next year right now he is in stable condition. A new Frankie Beverly and Maze LP, Anticipation, is coming out early next year.

No, he was engaged to Rebecca Gayheart. He really got on my bad side after she was found guilty of vehicular homicide and he made comments that I felt were insensitive.

I am sorry. I love Serena's athleticism but in photos she looks absolutely CRAZY!!! Her clothes always appear to be too small (this one's not that bad) and her hair always looks bad (a shade or eight too light for her complexion). Dang Re-Re.

Actor Anthony Anderson, in Memphis making the film "Hustle and Flow," has been charged with aggravated rape by the Shelby County Sheriff's department.

According to a Sheriff's spokesperson, Tuesday evening just after 5:30 p.m., a Memphis woman, who is a scene "extra" in the film, reported that two men sexually assaulted her.

According to the affidavit of complaint, Wayne Witherspoon, 42, of Los Angeles, California, lured her into a production trailer. She told investigators that once inside he forcibly removed her clothes and exposed himself.

Anderson, 33, was allegedly already in the trailer. She claims he joined in the assault. The woman said both men allegedly assaulted her with their hands and took pictures of her while she was nude.

A witness told investigators he heard the woman screaming and went to the trailer. He managed to unlock the door. When he did, the woman reportedly ran from the trailer without her clothes.

Shelby County Sheriff’s Detectives late this afternoon charged Anderson, an actor in the film, and Witherspoon, a member of the production team, with aggravated rape.

A spokesman for Anthony Anderson issued the following statement: "Anthony Anderson absolutely denies the heinous charges that have been made against him. Anthony is a happily married family man who has never been accused of—no less involved in—anything remotely like this, and we are confident that when all the facts come out, he will be completely exonerated."

Anderson, a 33-year-old married father of two, is one of Hollywood's busiest actors, having appeared in this year's "Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London," as well as "Kangaroo Jack" (2003), "Scary Movie 3" (2003) and "Barbershop" (2002).

Witherspoon is an occasional actor, producer and assistant director.

Both men are being held at the Shelby County Jail on $20,000 bond.

Ironically, the incident happened during filming of a scene in the Shelby County Correctional Center.

This week it’s all about who’s lying and who’s telling the truth!


It was all a lie! The marriage between singer Brandy and producer Robert Smith was just a publicity stunt to protect her image. Smith revealed all to Wendy Williams on her national radio show. Smith came forward with the truth because he was tired of Brandy telling her divorce stories to sell albums. He says Brandy got pregnant while they were dating and her mother didn’t want her seen as an unwed mother, so they made up the story about being married. They lied to everyone and a lot of media outlets including MTV, People, Vibe, Sister to Sister magazines and a slew of TV shows. Brandy has released a statement saying she is shocked and hurt by Robert’s actions. She says they shared a spiritual union. Why would Brandy and her mom go through with this stunt? She was everywhere talking about her divorce and giving marital advice. Did it ever dawn on her that the truth would come out? Will the media outlets ever trust her again? Will this publicity stunt hurt her career? I think it will. She knew she wasn’t married but she continued to talk about the divorce during her publicity tour for her latest album. She let her fans down and a lot of people who have supported her throughout her career. Can her career survive this or will she just go on with her life with her rich boyfriend basketball player Quentin Richardson. Smith has moved on with his life. He is expecting a child with his girlfriend, a film producer.


Did singer Eric Benet tell a big lie? A couple of weeks ago Eric sat down with the show Primetime and he talked about being married to Halle Berry. Eric admitted to cheating but he says he never had intercourse with the other women. Well according to Julia Riley, a Milwaukee singer Eric is a big fat liar. She says they would do it four times a night. She says Eric turned to her because Halle was too tired and too moody to make love. All she wanted to do was concentrate on her career. Now speaking of Halle her new movie Catwoman did not do well at the box office. It only took in $17 million at the box office and it cost over $90 million to make. The movie opened to terrible reviews. A lot of people are wondering is she wasting her talent on mediocre films or is she suffering the “Oscar curse.” A lot of actors who have won an Academy Awards went on to have less than spectacular follow ups. Halle has several projects on the horizon including the Oprah Winfrey produced movie, Their Eyes are Watching God, another X-Men spin off and the remake of Foxy Brown.


Olympic runner Marion Jones has seen better days. In 2000 she was the darling of the Olympic games winning three gold medals in Sydney. This year as she heads to Athens for the summer games, she is under a cloud of suspicion for possible steroid use. She is currently under investigation but no charges have been filed. According to Marion’s ex-husband, CJ Hunter, she did use steroids. He says he would inject them in her. CJ’s career was ruined when it was discovered he used steroids. Spokespeople for Marion claim CJ is a liar and he has an ax to grind because Marion left him. Marion did not perform well in the Olympic trials and her son’s father runner Tim Montgomery will not be participating in the Olympics because of his steroid use. If Marion is found guilty she may lose all of her Olympic medals.


Joe Jackson the patriarch of the Jackson family recently celebrated his 75th birthday. Over the weekend he had a party and not one member of the Jackson clan showed up. There was no Michael, no Janet, no Jermaine, no Randy, no Tito or Latoya. Mom Katherine was a no show as well. Turning 75, is nothing to sneeze at. I wonder why the family didn’t come to his party.


At the movies this week it’s the new Denzel Washington movie The Manchurian Candidate. Johnathan Demme directs this remake of the 1962 classic that starred Frank Sinatra. Denzel steps into the Sinatra role. Also starring in the movie are Meryl Streep, Liev Shrieber, Jon Voight, Jeffrey Wright, and Kimberly Elise. Earlier this week I had a chance to talk to Kimberly and she says she loved working with Denzel. This was not the first time that they did a movie together. In the movie John Q she played his wife. In The Manchurian Candidate she plays a stranger who befriends him. Kimberly is best known for her roles in the movie Set It Off and Beloved. This October she will be starring in the T.D. Jakes movie Woman Thou Art Loosed.



Congrats to singer Erykah Badu. Earlier this month she gave birth to her second child a girl names Puma. The dad is the rapper The D.O.C. Years ago he was injured in a car crash that destroyed his vocal chords. He is currently producing other artists. Erykahs first child, a boy named Seven, was fathered by Andre 3000 of the group Outkast.

Top management changes at Motown Records is holding up the release of the new Stevie Wonder album. Stevie’s long awaited album, A Time 2 Love, was supposed to be released this week, but the top boss at Motown Kedar Massenburg was pushed out and the new bosses are just settling in. Sylvia Rhone, who was in charge at Elektra, is the new Motown boss. There’s no word on when Stevie’s project will be released.


The producing and songwriting duo of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff were recently honored with a new award. Donald Trump and BMI bestowed the award on the duo for their song “For the Love of Money.” The song recorded by the O’Jays is the theme song for Trumps hit show, The Apprentice.


Singer Michael Henderson is making a comeback. Henderson is best known for the songs “Be My Girl,” “Wide Receiver,” “At the Concert,” “In the Nighttime” and my all time fave, “Take Me I’m Yours” with Rena Scott. Henderson has spent the past few years living in Las Vegas producing rappers and home schooling his children. He is currently working with the Miles Davis Band and they are releasing a new album next month.


Boyz II Men will be releasing their Throwback album on August 24th. The album features covers of classic songs including “For the Love of You,” “Sara Smile” and “What You Won’t Do for Love.” Michael McCary is no longer with the group. He wanted to spend time with his family and deal with his ongoing back problems. Mike suffered from scoliosis. The group is now a trio with Shawn Stockman, Wanya Morris and Nate Morris.


The hot new book Gotham Diaries by Tonya Lewis Lee and Crystal McCrary Anthony may be made into a television series with Spike Lee directing. Spike is married to Tonya.


Shar Jackson is a mommy again! Shar gave birth to a baby boy last week. Shar’s baby daddy is Kevin Federline. He’s the guy who’s marrying pop sensation Britney Spears this fall. This is the second child for Shar and Federline. They have a two year old daughter named Kori. Federline left Shar earlier this year when he met Britney.


Michael Jackson made headlines last week when reports surfaced that he was expecting quads with a mystery woman in Florida. Jackson says this is not true. The mystery woman is a former Prince groupie who is expecting quads. In other Michael news he is battling his former ex-wife Debbie Rowe. She wants to see her kids Paris and Prince Michael. She signed away her rights for the children, but now she is having a change of heart. She has not seen them since last November and Michael won’t return her calls. Michael’s child molestation trial starts in September.


Usher is headed to the big screen. He is in talks to do a movie produced by MTV films. In the meantime he’ll be appearing in the Ray Charles biographical movie Ray starring Jamie Foxx. Usher will be playing Jackie Wilson.


The Sopranos won’t be returning to HBO until the year 2006. The series will resume then to air its final 13 episodes.


Now that she’s an American Idol Fantasia Barrino’s dad is getting into the music business. Joe Barrino, a truck driver for the past 15 years, is starting up a record label with Fantasia’s cousins KC and Jo-Jo of Jodeci fame. Joe’s title is the CEO/Producer and Arranger. The first release will be a gospel recording.


First he battled robots now he’s taking on sharks. Will Smith will be providing the animated voice for the new movie Shark Tale. Will is voicing the character “Oscar.” Robert De Niro, Angelina Jolie and Jack Black will also be lending their voices. The soundtrack is going to feature 70’s classics by today’s top recording stars. Mary J. Blige will remake the Cheryl Lynn classic “Got to be Real” and Missy Elliott and Christina Auguilerra will be teaming up to do a remake of the Rose Royce classic “Car Wash.”

Serena is cool but in that picture she looks like a dude standing next to Danny Devito's son.

The rap mogul's wife, Kimora Lee Simmons, was arrested in Saddle River, New Jersey, Sunday night and charged with marijuana possession and reckless driving, the New York Daily News reports.
