New FX Show - Rescue Me
 

Did anyone else catch the premiere of Dennis Leary's new show, Rescue Me?
I really thought it was good. I will be tuning in next week.

huge bump, but I love this show and wanted to see if any other GCers were watching it!

i love this show! i have the last two week's episodes on tape that i need to watch. i've always been a huge fan of dennis leary plus he's involved a lot in the boston community.

bumping this again...

Does anyone have any clue if this is gonna come back on in the summer? I've REALLY missed my "Rescue Me"! The fiance and myself were very addicted last summer... and these reruns just aren't cutting it for me anymore!

I believe the new season starts August 3rd. i cannot wait!

He really does do a lot of great stuff in the community. I knew about the hockey tournament, but he's involved in more than I thought.

He does a lot through the Leary Firefighters Foundation which he started after the tragic fire in the warehouse in Worcestor killed six fireman, one of which was a family member. I know he's raised a lot of money through that from the hockey tournament as well as other events.

He seems like a really solid stand-up guy. I've talked to a couple of people who have dealt with him, and they said that he's about one of the nicest people you'll meet.

I love Rescue Me, Dennis Leary is great. My fave character is Sean, he's hot!

I've been a Denis Leary fan since my college bf took me to his stand up gig at Nick's Comedy Stop my junior year. We were in the front row. Got ashes flicked on us and everything. :D

hahah no hook up here.. well, unless TWoP is a hookup! and according to a poster there the new season of nip/tuck starts in th emiddle of september. i've never watched that show. is it any good?

If the title tells what this show is about, I'm in. Someone please tell me when and where to find it. I am a huge fan and supporter of Dennis Leary and his foundation for the firefighters.

I can't wait to add this to my TiVo'd season pass.

Ditto! Thanks for the tip from TWOP, mu_agd. They're showing an encore of the second season on Sundays at 10. I would highly recommend it. I had like half of the people at my old job watching it. Sometimes I would tape it on Tuesday nights and we would watch it at lunch time on Wednesdays in the conference room.

i'll add it to the dvr right now so that way hopefully i can try to figure out what is going on.

So I was completely wrong in this because I just saw a commercial that said it was starting June 21st.

Yay, I can't wait for this show to come back! I loved it last seaosn.

I thought the first episode was worth the wait. It pretty much lived up to my expectations as far as all of the characters are concerned. I thought it was actually pretty funny that Probie got dumped by his girlfriend and she was like no, the sex was just OK. I was disappointed that Tommy didn't see any dead people. I also thought it was weird that they showed so much footage at Ground Zero. It's almost like last season they shot it entirely on sound stages in L.A., and for this season they're like "Let's go to NYC and get some shots there." Maybe they have a bigger budget because it was successful enough to get renewed?

Interested to see what happens between Franco and the chick firefighter. Garrity makes me laugh so hard, but I'm waiting for him to come out of the closet. They always put him in these gay situations (like the calendar, he gets hit on by gay guys, now the internet thing). The ending of this episode got me scared, but I knew Tommy would be fine because Dennis Leary is the star of the show. All in all, looks like a good season is coming up!

I just wish Nip/Tuck would come out sometime before SEPTEMBER, but I really enjoyed seeing the promo for it during the commercials of Rescue Me.

I missed the season opener (I have to catch the rerun this weekend) but I just wanted to mention that they made the plans to use the Ground Zero and Staten Island early in the first season. My cousin is married to a SI firefighter and she told me last year that they would be filming there and that a lot of her husband's co-workers had signed on to be extras.

Last night's episode was good! Anyone else see it?

Ah, it was quite good... but then again, I haven't seen an episode I didn't like yet!

I'm wondering what's going to happen with Laura. She was really hard to read in last night's episode.

And, I was VERY glad that whole liquor store thing was a dream... I got real worried for Tommy!!!

Crud, I missed tonight's eppy. :(

I liked how they replayed the episode the night before the new episode and 1 hour before the episode. Now they do the reruns on the weekend and I always forget! :mad:

That's why I'm a TiVo advocate.

Too much tragedy on this one...
 

OK. I'm thinking either Keelah is going to die, or they're going to take her away from her dad.

Sheila's Dr. can be sued (even though I'm glad Tommy found out).

Tommy is a complete nutjob. Why does he keep seeing Jesus? The Dr.'s office scene reminded me of Fight Club.

I hope they don't kill Keelah. She's so adorable and Franco needs that softer side.

I'm pulling it up on TiVo now, but I'm :eek: at the title alone.
