Burrito bueno
To go along with DeltaSigStan's sandwich shop thread, what about great burrito places? I know of 2 in Charleston, SC... SoCal Burritos (before you Southern Californians knock it, the owner is a recent transplant from San Diego...) and Yo Burrito. Both Great.

I know its trite, but I dig Chipotle. One of those things can feed me for about 3 days.

California Tortilla has a bunch of locations around DC. I had it for lunch today!

Anna's Taqueria in Boston (Brookline) is great. Quick food that's excellent. Even rated highly by Zagat, especially for what amounts to a fast food place.
El Pelon Taqueria is very good too; not as good as Anna's though. |

MY GOD! My burrito has 1079 calories at Chipotle. I still think they are tastey.
Cactus Cantina is good too, its on Wisconsin. |
My husband could eat a Pancheros burrito twice a day, every day if I let him. (I prefer their quesadillas). LaBambas has awesome burritos but you have to be good and drunk to really experience them.
|
I love Chipotle and it definately feeds you for days.
|
I'm a fan of Qdoba and La Bambas! I think both are regional chains but they are so good!
|
Luchita's in Shaker Square makes the best one.
|
Freebirds in College Station! Yum.
|
I love Qdoba too! The Chicken Mole is sooo sooo good. I also like Moe's SW Grill and a little place in Montgomery called El Rey Burrito Lounge. They have lots of organic and unusual ingredients and a really funky/indie atmosphere.
|
Burrito Buggy in Athens Ohio :) *yum*
Bad thing is it's only there during the OU school year.. :( |
Freebirds Burrito in College Station is by far the best.
They've also put franchises in Dallas, Austin and Houston. I think the founder has a burrito place somewhere in Cali, but the Freebirds ones are the best. Kitso KS 361 |
cosign on Freebirds... here in Houston I eat there at least once a week :) (and Amy's ice cream for dessert!)
Mission Burritos are also mighty tasty |

kikis has a terrific picadillo burrito.
three sisters has a good breakfast burrito |
Reading this makes me crave a burrito...too bad Anna's is so far away from work.
|
Fiesta Mexicana (on Lincoln Ave.)
Taco Bell isn't that bad |

This might sound weird but I miss the cafeteria breakfast burritos at my old job. The girls there made a vegetarian homemade New Mexico green chile sauce that was to die for. Spicy enough to make your nose run, packed with flavor, drowning the burrito.... so good. I've tried to learn how to make it but I can't get the flavor right.
|
Oh, forgot about Boca Grande...I believe it's owned by the same people who own Anna's, and it take credit cards. Good stuff, not quite as good as Anna's but close.

Then again, there is always Plaza Azteca down at college in VA. |
Definitely Qdoba, I've loved it ever since it was Z-Teca!

I'd definitely recommend Casa Romero - it's a sit-down, very romantic restaurant with GREAT food. It's one of my two or three favorite places to eat in Boston. It's over in the Copley Square area and has a website (although the exact site escapes me). Sol Azteca is another restaurant with solid food, although it's not as good as Casa Romero. It's on Beacon Street near Boston U. For fast Mexican food, it's Anna's, El Pelon and Boca Grande in that order. |
