What kind of sleeping bag did you have as a child?
So my parents are moving to a new house and thus my sisters and I have had to go through stuff from our childhoods that our parents no longer wish to store (lucky for me most of it was not mine).
In the storage room of my parents' basement I came across my old sleeping bag- a camoflage bag they bought me back in 1991 as a Bday present during the Gulf War when I was fascinated by all that was happening. My sisters' old sleeping bags wer there as well- Snoopy and Garfield. Anyone else have a story about their childhood sleeping bag or had an interesting bag? |
Haha,
My sister had the pink Snoopy one and i had the red Garfield one. We found them when we were packing up the house after my parents' divorce this summer. I should get it out of storage and take it to the frat hosue with me this fall. Kitso KS 361 |
We didnt have sleeping bags, we had 'snug-sacks'.
I have a green one I use now when any of us go camping. I have had it about 10 years and its in suprisingly good shape. |
i had an Alvin and the Chipmunks sleeping bag:)
I had a Rainbow Brite and a New Kids on the Block sleeping bag!
I had the ever-popular New Kids on the Block sleeping bag, then graduated up to a black one with a day-glo splatter paint pattern on it. I was so cool. ;)
I had a real man's sleeping bag -- transformers.
Optimus Prime was on my sleeping bag. |
Ninja Turtles! Me and my best friend Bryan had them. I had Leonardo and he had Donatello...
Barbie
I had a Get-Along-Gang sleeping bag when I was really little, and then I got my super-cool Rainbow Brite one when I was about 4. I was the wo-MAN.
rather boring...it was blue.
Of course I had New Kids on the Block!!!
I had Rainbow Brite and Strawberry Shortcake. Get-Along-Gang souinds so familiar but I can't place them LOL.
Mine was a boring burgundy. That's what I get for letting my dad pick out my sleeping bag for me.
I remember when I went to camp the summer after 6th grade ('95), and some poor camper still had her New Kids on the Block sleeping bag. She got teased mercilessly about it, because by that point NKOTB were so passe and uncool. :p |
We didn't have sleeping bags. When I went to camp, I had to sleep in a tent so I borrowed plain blue sleeping bags from a family friend. Now my sister has the same type of blue sleeping bags.
I never had a sleeping bag of my own.
If I need to bring a sleeping bag anywhere it was one of my dad's camping bag. Real sleeping bags. They were ugly colours, but damn, where they ever comfortable and warm. In fact they are soooooooooooo good, we still have them and use them and they are almost 30 years old. |
I had a lavender sleeping bag lined with lavender unicorns. It matched the lavender bows on my wallpaper. I replaced that with a Turquoise LL Bean sleeping bag though when I started going to backpacking camp. The lavender unicorns were too heavy to take along on a five day backpacking trip. :(
I think I had a My Little Pony one. I remember it being pastel pink on the inside as well.
But when I grew out of that, it switched between a blue and green one. (My family had four bags total, so it didn't really matter who got what.) |
I had a super cool Lifesaver sleeping bag  It looked like a giant pack of Lifesavers with the silverly trim and red interior. It was badazz :D
I had a My Little Pony one, and recieved as a gift a New Kids OTB...which I think my friends used when they spent the night...it's been while...
I had a Strawberry Shortcake one to use at peoples houses but if we went camping I had a boring blue down one.
I still have a Minnie Mouse one with hearts, I make my friends use it when they stay over. When I go camping I take my dad's Army one or one of the ones my parents used when they backpacked in Europe.
I had a big green Snoopy sleeping bag, with Snoopy eating popcorn on it. In my later years I borrowed my dad's mummy bag (a big thick black and grey one) when I needed a sleeping bag.
It was Raggedy Ann lined with bright yellow and it was warm and cozy and wonderful :)
I had a "Herself the Elf" sleeping bag. Probably from one of those PBS shows my lefty parents had me watch. I think my niece still uses it.
Man I had a ton of them but never went camping LMAO. We owned a RV but we had beds ha ha.
I had a rainbow bright one I think A popple one A new kids on the block one I think those are all, I cant remember any other ones. Maybe random ones that were like plain or something. I dont own any now so who knows. |
I had a She-Ra sleeping bag. My sister had one with the Wuzzles.
When we joined the Girl Scouts, though, we upgraded to serious sleeping bags, which weren't near as much fun :( |
I had a Smurf sleeping bag and my older sister had a Jolly Green Giant one.

Although I feel you on the serious sleeping bags for girl scouts. :( |
Care Bears :D
I actually ended up using it as a quilt on my new bed a few years ago before I had the chance to go out and buy one that fit... |

I also had a pink Popples one, I had a Rainbow Brite one at one point also. :) |
i'm happy to see there are others who are just as proud of their NKOTB sleeping bags as i am!
If i recall i had a pink panther sleeping bag and as that one got ruin and torned up i had a cool unicorn and clouds sleeping bag
I still have my My Little Pony sleeping bag running around here somewhere, complete with a pastel liner. :p
I had a reversible one. One side was solid pink and the other had flower and lattice print. I also used it for a blanket since it was soft and warm. I had a pair of pijamas and a nightgown matching the printed side.
I had 2. One was Rainbow Brite ans the other was New Kids on the Block! :)
Hell yeah NKOTB!!

Brothers had Star Wars |
Was I the only kid to have the PeeWee Herman sleeping bag?

Snoopy. mine was red. I used it every year for summer camp from age 8 until I was about 13. I got a plain orange one after that. My snoopy had so many tears in it we had to toss it out but I loved that thing so.
