I had five minutes free so I went and looked at the member list.
Woo that was a long link :D. His user profile now says banned. So he must've been banned by the site administrator (and posts deleted). He wasn't here long this time. He's been banned in the past at least three times or so. Anyway now ya know.

imthechamp was his old user name. The fella was banned from GC awhile ago. He came back, didn't chang his tune at all and was given a swift kick out the door.

A sensitive admin does it. O well.

There was no need to delete his posts, lol. Remember the good ol' days when banning was good enough? You could still read all of the naughty posts.

Well, with the way some people behave on here, it's seems a bit arbitrary at times.

However, I would suppose that high volume posting of crude and obnoxious content is generally a good way to get banned. I believe that offenders usually get a warning or two before getting the boot. In this case, as ktsnake pointed out, champ01 has had multiple user names such as "imthechamp", "imthachamp", "champ" and "champ01" and, as is such, has already been previously banned multiple times.

There are a couple of people on GC who were obnoxious folks who had gotten banned multiple times, but who eventually went on to re-register with a toned down approach and were allowed to stay.

.....Kelly :)

Tom Earp 07-05-2004 03:44 PM

omega2, this individual has been banned many times under different user names.

imperial1, it was not just a few posts, but a multitude over a period of time. Mods cannot Ban anyone, that is up to the Administrateo and He only.

But when the line is crossed so many times then, it becomes a problematic situation.

When one calls people vile names and degrates them continually then there is a proble. When a person lies continualy, there is a problem.

It is not of a spur of the moment decission.

Remember, you dont have The Right to be on here, You are a guest and if the rules continualy get broken, then well, figure it out.

navan, you are totally correct! I know of a few and figure they may be some in the same.

There has been discussion about them and who knows what is held for them in the future?;)

Tom Earp 07-05-2004 03:54 PM

Felt this should be a seperate follow up!

There were several years ago posters who were called the Vs.

They posted all kinds of allegations and PMed and emailed GC Chattters and even threatened them with all kinds of bodily harm.

These people were finally taken into court after being sued and found guilty.

This is what some of the posts seem and can lead to!

I have had someone threaten me with bodily harm, call me names along with many other GCers who did or did not agree with him.

Depended on his deminted mood swing at the time!

Did I recommend they be banned, well take a shot!

I never do this lightly.:( , as do not other Mods.

Actually, that's a harder question to answer than you might think.

It's true that only the Administrator can actually ban someone.

That may happen due to one of several reasons, but generally they are violations of the TOS that you agreed to when you signed onto GC.

Clearly, John doesn't have the time to read every post on the board, so I think it generally comes down to his getting a PM or E-mail from members, or through the Moderator's forum.

In the latter, it probably shouldn't come as any surprize that the issue of banning someone is often the cause of heated debate.

In the end, though, it is the administrator (John) who makes the final decision.

You had your moments.

But seriously. I don't know if it's the whole being engaged thing or what, it seems you've changed a lot (for the better) in a very short period of time.

Rudey 07-12-2004 04:59 PM

They should bring Champ back and make him a moderator.

Tom Earp 07-12-2004 06:39 PM

Ah Rudey, just when I thought you were starting to make some foorm if sense?

I dont mind Champ,Chimp, Chump or what ever This person wants to go by.

But, when it gets so demeaning and outlandish, and vulgar, then it is time to review the Poster!

Maybe, there are some that will get the idea?

DO YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I MEAN!:D

Just to let you know that I too can speak Loud!:D

I too can also spake with clarity, not being a Pretty Boy of EGO!

Wierd, all my friends say the same....."You used to be off the chain, but you've changed." I don't understand where they're coming from. I'm still me. They make me feel like I'm just an average Joe now, or something like that. But yea, I think (as do my friends) it all stems from my woman. They start phucking with me all the time by saying things like "Next thing you know you'll be buying lawn equiptment and spending your weekends doing yard work while she's going shopping on your money." Comments like that hit me pretty hard and constantly make me rethink it all and make sure I know what I'm getting in to.

If she's a good woman (and I believe she is because she's had a wonderful effect on you) that won't happen. Marriage and commitment is what the two parties make of it and if they both make an effort to keep it exciting they will.

However, if she starts coming home with a carful of shopping bags after you've been cleaning the gutters all damn day, let me know and I will kick her ass. ;) Women who do isht like that make me ashamed to be a woman. I don't think that's in your future though.

Based solely on your posts, I can honestly say that I have noticed a change in you. Your posts have more depth and are more thoughtful. It's a good thing and a big improvement. :) You seem to be in a good and happy place so enjoy it.

cashmoney 07-14-2004 12:29 PM

Well, to be honest, I wouldnt mind it if during the summer I did isht all day and she went shopping during it all. The reason being, during football season my ass is going to be on the leather couches watching multiple football games at the same time on the 64"Sony LCD from late august to mid-january. And I better not hear a word about it. :p

If they're your friends, they'll see that you're happy and they'll be happy for you. If not, then f--- 'em, that's not how real friends act.

cashmoney 07-14-2004 04:08 PM

They're just looking out for my best interest. I don't know one man that has been married that hasnt been divorced at least once. Even my dad was married once before he was married to my mother...didnt have any kids and it only lasted two years, but still it was a marriage. My friends dont want to see me go through shit because I had a blind eye going in to it. Just about all of them are older than me.....the closets being a yr older than me. They range from their mid/late 20s to their mid 30s and have therefore been through more situations like this than I have. This is all uncharted territory for me and any advice is well thought about on my end. But they're glad I'm happy considering all the bullshit I've been going through in different areas of my life and people within my family. Only a couple of people know about it (here), but I was going through a really tuff time awhile back with a family member and medical issues.

33girl, how long have you been tagged by your man?

How are things going with that? PM me if you prefer.

33girl 07-14-2004 04:24 PM

Almost 8 years. Holy crap, I still don't believe that. The only thing I have done that long is go to school, and not even the same school. :)

We both have friends who have done the personality tithe much to our dismay and disgust, so we're determined NOT to do it. Sure, we have some issues and everything isn't perfect, but I don't think any of our friends have had to look at us and say "you're not YOU anymore."

I think they are just looking out for you but this is the only acceptable guy way to say it. Actually, if they hack around and tease you, that's probably better than if they just clam up when you bring up her name. I ended up doing that with one of my friends because I knew anything I said about her man would be coming through clenched teeth...at any rate, silence bad.

Well, I'm dealing with it the best way I know how. Does it bother me? Yes. Do I loose sleep at night? Not anymore. Can I do anything about it? No. I spend as much time as I can with that person. Its made us extremly close, moreso than ever before. It has made me grow up in many areas of my life....including doing things that harm the health of my body. I'll go in a little more detail in a PM later.

Well congrats on the 8 yrs. Any kids? My woman wants kids within 2 yrs. I can't even imagine what it'd be like with a little cashmoney crawling through the house causing all kinds of comotions...getting in to everything. I mean damn, she had me watch that movie "My baby's daddy" not too long ago ( its soooo funny). My parents, on the other hand, can't wait till their first grandchild comes out. Both of them said they're going to spoil the dog shit out of him/her.

But yea, I think them saying what they say to me is the only way they know how to come at me about the whole situation.

LOL, that's one of the issues. Although he has a niece he loves to death who is the first kid among his siblings...thank God she wasn't an obnoxious hell-child or that might have tipped the balance & he'd been off to the "male specialist."
