sororitygirl2 07-04-2004 04:01 AM

Totally adorable that you liked this movie - I most def. want to see it.

I hope you took a date!!! :)

PlymouthDZ 07-04-2004 03:50 PM

I just finished the book and I have a date with my future step-aunt to go see the movie!

I'm excited that you gave it such rave reviews!!! :)

tinydancer 07-04-2004 03:54 PM

I'd been wondering if it was worth seeing. Thanks for the review.

ILLINIgirl 07-04-2004 04:23 PM

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm glad to hear that it's good because I just finished reading the book and it was AMAZING! Now I'm reading THE WEDDING (which is the sequal) and it is also amazing--read it! :D

Jill1228 07-05-2004 01:57 PM

I want to see it too! I will also read the book now that I have heard good reviews

PureGoldF2K1 07-06-2004 01:48 AM

There were more tears during this movie than during Titanic. LOUD tears! There was not one girl in the theater who was not sniffing and dripping with tears. (except for my friend who I went with...she's so cynical she was just laughing at all of us poor sobbing girls!!)

It was a great movie, I love Rachel McAdams now, she was also in Mean Girls which I LOVED!!! (and not just because one of the characters was named Karen Smith which also happens to be my name...)

steelepike 07-06-2004 02:55 AM

Bobby you seem to really care about this point to get people to see this movie, almost as if you had a vested interest in the film doing well. Are you getting some kind of financial gain from this movie?

But all joking aside....

It was a good movie, I went with my girlfriend and her sister and i enjoyed it. The sister kept making jokes that i must be gay or something. I even teared up just a bit and it was had such a sweet ending. Really a good movie.

_Opi_ 07-06-2004 11:20 AM

Oh, that explains why people were walking out of this theatre bawling. I was thinking it can't be spiderman........

I want to see this movie now.

krazy 07-06-2004 12:21 PM

Not to sound like a snob, but the movie is like 8 times better than the book. While his stories are good, the writing isn't very impressive. But I agree that the film is a good one.

KillarneyRose 07-06-2004 12:49 PM

Ok, now I have to see this movie! It'll probably be a matinee while my girls are at daycamp because I don't think I'll be able to drag Mr. KR to go see it :(

I've heard such rave reviews for Rachel McAdams; I'm looking forward to seeing her in a part so different than her role in Mean Girls.

BobbyTheDon 07-06-2004 10:05 PM

the is the greatest goddamn movie of the year.

and SteelePike...yes I have an interest in this movie. My name is Nicholas Sparks...and Krazy, I take offense to you saying the movie was better than my novel

jk

I saw this movie, AGAIN...with my sister. I didn't cry like a bitch this time.

The first time I watched it with my greek lil sis, who happens to be our dream girl. she went and told nearly everyone in my chapter that I cried. Now they all make fun of me.

whatever. they would cry like a faucet too if your LOVE OF YOUR LIFE WENT OFF TO BE ENGAGED TO SOMEONE ELSE!!!!

UKDaisy 07-06-2004 11:10 PM

I think I may have a crush on Bobby the Don now!

This is one of my favorite books - I can not wait to see the movie.

cutiepatootie 07-07-2004 12:44 AM

now i am really do want to see it

bobby i knew you were lying about your real name.

and yes i would be niagara falls if that happened to me.

Hey I understand exactly what you are talking about.

CSUSigEp 07-07-2004 01:10 AM

Wow I hope the movie is better than the trailer because the trailer totally screams cliche.

It looks like Romeo and Juliet the first half and then Pearl Harbor the second half...

PureGoldF2K1 07-07-2004 01:44 AM

Yes, we ALL have crushes on Bobbythedon now...

cutiepatootie 07-07-2004 04:21 PM

bobbythedon is the man! he rocks! :D

Cluey 07-07-2004 04:27 PM

I have no investment in this movie and I make no money off of my endorsement. All that aside, I loved this movie and everyone should go to see it :)

KellyB369 07-08-2004 11:16 AM

I'm wondering if it would be better to drag the BF to see it with me or just go with the girls?

steelepike 07-08-2004 01:30 PM

i would qoute all the girls crushing on bobby but it would inflate his ego too much

norcalchick 07-08-2004 10:14 PM

it was good! i read this thread before i watched it and was like, ok when am i suppsoed to cry. at the end, i was BAWLING! i mean puffy, red eyes, sobs, stuffed nose. i was like "i want that!" :)

KellyB369 07-12-2004 11:56 AM

So I convinced the BF to go with me last night to see this movie. I thought it was great and of course cried a ton. He said he didn't cry but he thought it was a good movie. When we were walking out we were all laughing and joking because you could hear that so many people had been crying. I definitely recommend this one!

ILLINIgirl 07-12-2004 12:56 PM

I went and saw it last night with my mom. We definitlely got teary eyed and loved the movie (it was soo romantic)! While a majority of the theatre was females, the male population was definitley represented...mostly boyfriends/husbands is what it seemed like. GO SEE IT NOW IF YOU HAVEN'T YET! :D

FiReKraCkEr 07-12-2004 02:43 PM

Talk about "bring your tissues!!"

As everyone was walking out of the theater, all the woman were crying...even the GUYS! All you could hear is sniffles.

I loved the movie, but it was sorta on the corny side. But, I did dry. A LOT.

My favorite part was when they were breaking up and the girl was like "I hate you! I never want to see you again! Wait, were not really breaking up right!!?? It was hilarious

ILLINIgirl 07-12-2004 05:03 PM

haha, I loved that too. And also how they'd be in a fight or she'd be hitting him and then 10 seconds later they were making out...ah, so in love! It was great :D

ZTAngel 02-28-2005 11:22 AM

I finally saw this movie last night. I've wanted to see it since it came out last summer but never got around to it. I rented it for my boyfriend and me last night.

I was SOBBING. I might get a little misty eyed during movies but I was crying my eyes out during this movie. The only other movie that I actually sobbed during was Titanic. I loved this movie!

TheEpitome1920 02-28-2005 12:29 PM

I saw this movie yesterday and I was BAWLING at the end. Indeed a great story. The dude who played young Noah was pretty hot.:D

WVU alpha phi 02-28-2005 04:04 PM

BEST. MOVIE. EVER. When it came out, I went to Walmart right at midnight and bought it, and ran into 5 of my sisters doing the same thing. Even boys really like it, that's the best part.

This thread makes me want to go watch it now.

AGDee 02-28-2005 05:48 PM

I tried to rent it this weekend. I grabbed a DVD from behind one of the Notebook covers, checked out, got home and had I <heart> Huckabee's, which was an odd but entertaining film, but not The Notebook that I'd hoped to see!

RioLambdaAlum 03-03-2005 12:12 AM

I watched this last week when my friend April and I were having a chick flick night. OMG that was sweet and cute movie! That shows ya they held their marriage vows of in sickness and in health!

trojangal 03-03-2005 02:05 AM

Mr. Trojangal and I watched this last night..err...I fell asleep and he watched it all. I caught up with the movie tonight, and it was incredible. I haven't enjoyed a movie like that in a long time.

Rudey 03-03-2005 12:53 PM

Why do people consider movies that just get them to cry to be the best movies ever??

This was not that great of a movie. There was nothing special about it.

After saying all that, all the males on a United flight a month ago (including myself) were forced to watch this out of boredom and we all cried :*(

-Rudey

SSS1365 03-03-2005 01:13 PM

This movie made me cry. I cried when the kids came to visit and when she forgot who Noah was again after remembering for a few minutes. But I agree with Rudey, I don't think it's a really great movie. Good, but not great. I rented it and watched it by myself when Mr. SSS was at work, but somehow I really don't think he'd enjoy it. It's surprising to see that so many men liked it, because I definitely do not think that Mr. SSS would!

Lady Pi Phi 03-20-2005 12:03 AM

I just finished watching this movie. I thought it was fantastic. I cried...hell i'm still crying.

What a fantastic movie. I'm surprised it wasn't nominated for anything. Or was it? was it nominated for any Golden Globes?

Anyway, if you haven't seen it yet, do so!

sageofages 07-04-2005 11:49 PM

*bump*

I know I know I am slow...

Mr Sageofages and I just finished watching this move. OMIGOSH...after what we just went through the last six weeks, I CRIED my eyes out with this movie. Mr Sageofages even got a little misty eyed. He was hugging me and whispered in my ear "we have that you know" :) *sniff sniff*

What a wonderful movie....

UKTriDelt 07-05-2005 08:24 AM

Am I alone here or did ANYone else hate this movie? It was completely predictable, corny, and at the end I was laughing, not crying.. Liked the lead actress, just did not like the movie one bit. Nicolas Sparks' books don't do it for me either

AnonAlumna 07-05-2005 09:17 AM

Mr. Anon and I stubbled on this movie last night on Showtime. It was already about 45 minutes into it, but we were instantly hooked. We both called our mothers, sobbing, telling them they had to see it! It was a great story, that really got you involved!

That's the reason I don't like most romance movies.. I want to see Wedding Crashers because there's a song in it by one of my favorite bands
