I don't understand why the thread on White Chicks was deleted. I will keep reposting this in the future if it is deleted. It is my opinion that someone like Breathesgelatin should not be a moderator if she keeps abusing her power. Perhaps she would like to explain herself privately to me via a PM so she doesn't get embarassed further.

Now how do you all feel about this movie?

This thread is about White Chicks and the responses it has received. White Chicks is a movie falling under the entertainment category.

My opinion on White Chicks:

I don't like this type of movie. I don't think it's complimentary or forward-looking for those of any race or religion. It's demeaning on so many levels. At the same time, I do not think it's any kind of racist conspiracy. I think that ideally there would not be a market for this movie, but since there is, we can expect movies like this to be made. It's not like there is some cultural dictator sitting around saying "We shall make this type of movie to indoctrinate people in the theories of X, Y, and Z." People think these movies will do well on the market, so they make them. I will not see this movie and I will not see any movie similar to it, and that's my CHOICE. I'm not forced to accept or view this crass entertainment, so therefore, it's some kind of far-reaching conspiracy.

Nothing violated any rule. There was no fighting. You did remove the thread though. I expect an apology because people already see that you've made a mistake. Thanks :)

Nobody said it was a whole community Honeykiss; I did use the word "certain". Let's all be civil here. What I did hope to show however was that this dirt was out there and nobody was saying anything about it - hence the people that did post that said certain person was wrong found out about the opinion from this Entertainment forum and weren't regulars to the Alpha Phi Alpha forum.

I sent you a PM regarding all this, but I'll address this one more time in the thread and then back to business.

Basically, I can do whatever I want in my forum but I try to stay reasonable. I think I made the right call, but I do see your side as well. You are correct in that there wasn't really "fighting" going on yet. Anyway I wrote more about this in the PM and I hope that you'll read that and we can move on. :)

We can move on. In the future if I don't violate any rules, you erase my post because you can, then I will repost because I can. Nobody will have violated any rules; nobody will be in trouble, but a lot of time will be wasted. We did move on :)

Personally, I don't understand why the entire thread was deleted when anti-Semitic posts are left untouched. I think that yesterday's thread about these posts should have been left since the posts that inspired it remain. I know that these are different forums with different moderators. I just don't like seeing valid threads deleted and bigoted posts remain.

No more talks about this thread being deleted. I believe I've made myself clear.

Should anyone feel upset about a comment in another forum, I do welcome you to post here and in that forum as well.

While not all mods are consistant, I think that different rules are appropriate for differnet forums. Since this is an "Entertainment" forum, I don't see how discussions of race and bigotry really have much place here. From all I have seen, mods do their best to keep their own forums up as well as possible.

OK. Let's talk about what kind of lenses were used in the film.

It's like I said in some other forum about this... All I hear you saying is sex, black male pre-op wannabe white woman transsexuals and some movie that is completely irrelevant to anything, or anyone with a thought process...

Besides, I am still waiting for the commentary by the little robots on Mystery Science Theater 3000 on this movie...

Or maybe Beavis and Butthead have better descriptions...

Better yet,

Jay and Silent Bob's serious prosyletizing and analysis of the SFX "greatness" of this movie making in the city of Hollywood, California...

How the HAYLE did this movie get "greenlighted"???

It just goes to show you what kind of crack some producer was smoking when he approved this screenplay with these actors to play these parts...

And when was this movie made? 2000, 2001--'cuz I know it was made before the Iraq war...

It is like Samuel L. Jackson said in the "Black Hollywood" documentary, the "greenlighters"--movie studio execs--are only interested in how much money a movie can generate based on how much censorship or ratings they can get away with or extend or bend the envelop... Like "how many 'tits' will be in this movie"? 1 "tit", 2 "tits", how many? We get $100 per 'tit' dependent on age, race and plumpness of the 'tit'--That is ALL the studio execs are thinking...

So a dumbassed movie that I will wind up only seeing if I am extremely drunk, very high on marijuana or find myself comatosed in some old age hospital unable to change the channel, that is definitely NOT worth my breath to begin explaining the logic of why the Wayans brothers would downsize their Hollywood CV's like that--unless they were able to suck some extremely good dcik to do it...

And I skeerioussly doubt they did any chick to get this movie made...

Hon, perhaps you have me figured out all wrong. I don't care if anyone dresses up as anyone as long as the intent isn't to offend someone. I've yet to actually see someone complain about this movie and I am all about cheap laughs. What I do take offense to is that phashriner guy's comments.

I guess that thread was locked because shriner defaced women. The stuff about Jews, white women, and Asians was OK.

It's interesting though how certain emotions of hate and ignorance were aroused within certain members of the black race when this movie came out. I really do hope most people see it for humor rather than hate.

MTV: Are you worried about criticism of the stereotyping that provides a lot of the humor in "White Chicks"?

Marlon: We kind of break the mold and run away from the stereotype. You've got to have certain prototypes in terms of your character, certain archetypes with every character, and that's just the movie structure. But this one, it's just a situation comedy about two black guys that have to become two white girls, so it's just like a "Mrs. Doubtfire." He was a father that loved his kids. He wanted to be around them, so he created this Mrs. Doubtfire character so he could baby-sit the children. There's a reason. It's just a high-concept comedy in which it just so happens that race is one of the wells we go to for comedy, but there is race, gender and class, so you stay ahead of the audience and you have a very rich world, and I think the audience really enjoys the fact that it's a broad film and it plays across the board — men, women, Oprah loved it, so

There are "things" you will NEVER understand about me sweetheart... I cannot begin to comment on what phrat said and why he said it.

But one thing is true and I have yet an answer: How the HAYLE did this movie get "greenlighted"? Oh, I know why it did. But what I am wondering is "why"?

Coming from me, it that much "greens" in the world to make some dumb chit like I am seeing--no madda how funny it sounded...

A fart sounds funny if it's made right... That don't mean I'ma gonna pay somebody to hear it...

And chit does stink due to the E. coli and Bacillus coming out our colons and sphincters...

I love that Marlon called it a "high concept comedy." Does that mean he was high when he thought of it?
