I admire alot of your nicknames especially those that are locals. they are SO creative. please post what is your nickname or the most creative ones you have heard of??? I know you cant say why or how you picked it but it is so amazing how unique they are!!

I always thought nicknames were given to a person and not picked by the person getting the name.

I've had many nicknames in my tenure with the chapter. Nowadays, I'm simply "K.T." (my initials).

In the past, was called taint because somehow the word taint just seems hilarious when you're driving through Arkansas at 4AM (road tripping).

I have a couple of nicknames:
Noisy--that came about b/c at figure skating competitions and hockey games I have a big mouth and a skater's dad called me noisy. It stuck

Q--one of my sisters, Paige, started calling me Q last year, she picks a letter and calls someone that, mine was b/c she said she was too lazy to say Suzie Q.

Then I have many many embarassing ones that only family members call me (Magoo, Purple Burple, Susu<--from my nephews). Hey, I'm not ashamed. I respond to all of them!:D

My nickname in the sorority is "Trouble Bubble". It was given to me by my big (a tradition) because I was the absolute hellion during pledging! I was always getting into trouble (mostly on purpose..) and getting my pledge class in trouble, lol! Ahh...fun times..I miss pledging!

Now, my pledge sisters nick's were: Doc Johnson (she just graduated w/a nursing degree and always seemed to have a first aid kit handy) and Smokey Magee (she was the lone smoker). I got to name my little last semester....she ended up being "Magoo", 'cause she's a little crackhead. She was always messing up the activity or losing something or just being plain ditzy.....but I love her! :D

My boyfriend's nick is "Silent Bob". If you know that Kevin Smith character, he's an exact copy....attitude and looks. :p

Our big sisters give us nicknames when we give them their paddles. Mine's Jasmine (as in the Aladdin character) because I'm Persian and my big thought I was really exotic-looking when we first met, and that was the first "name" she thought of for me :)

Deuce....for reasons that only a few people know. However people still call me it, no matter how long it's been since I've seen them. I got the nickname freshman year.

This wasn't an official chapter nickname...just something a couple of buddies gave me after a night of going out.

Most of my sisters have nicknames (not official chapter ones) because of something they've done or for powderpuff jerseys.

Powderpuff is big at my school (even with only 4 sororities) and our shirts proudly state our nicknames and numbers on the back.

I play center on offense and defensive line (normally in the center of that as well). My nickname was given after my first game due to my "abilities".

I am known as "KILLA" and am #8! :D

we have chapter nicknames that the sisters make up while you're a new member. the rule is they have to be nice and cute and its a plus if they have a double meaning. mine (if my screen name didn't give it away) is Sierra for 3 reasons. The main reason is I was an environmental studies major when I joined so they named me after the Sierra club. Secondly its a Spanish word and I am part Spanish and finally someone claims its a shade of red, the color of my hair at the time.

This girl I know and her big were given matching names...tweedle dee and tweedle dum...

we have not picked up on the nicknaming yet for our group

What's up all? Mine is Absolute, not explaining the reason, but for short I used to be called ABC.

Clash : because I was wearing a shirt and Tie that didn't coordinate very well. :D

Some of the older sisters used to call me Grace because I tend to injure myself doing things (ex. flipping over a trashcan and spraying spray paint in my face at an SAE competition or breaking my wrist playing intramural flag foot ball against Phi Mu).

Most of the sisters call me by my last name since there are 6 Sarah's in our chapter. Makes things a little confusing especially since I live with one of them, our last names sound similar, and we even look slightly alike.

My chapter tends to give out a lot of nicknames, I think it really speaks for how much we actually are like brothers. Here is a short list of the ones i have recieved (note: being the chapter screw up gets you a lot of nicknames).

for one kid in my fraternity we actually counted all the nicknames we had given him since he pledged and he was well over the 35 mark.

Well I have two nicknames, one line-name and another name the Membership Candidates(Pledges.. arggh) call me during their candidacy. My line name is Madd Dogg, because I'm a calm person, but some times people find my button and push it, and then they are introduced to a rather willingly angry 6 foot , 260 pound male, that is quick on his feet. Not to many have met this creature, but the few who have don't make the mistake twice. The other nick name, is BigSexySir, we where coming up with names for the Active, and MC's during the year before last's program, and I couldn't come up with one, so being that our chapter and a majority of our district are Wrestling Fanatics, I was given this name, can't remember who Big Sexy is, I've been out of the Wrestling loop due to only having rabbit ears on my TV.

my big sis named me ludacris bc while i was pledging, i would go out and hook up with a bunch of guys and brag about it and it just so happens that they were all in different area codes and another reason is bc i had an anger problem and i would act a fool and alot of people say im rediculous and crazy hehe

oh and i named my lil sis shocker bc she looks so innocent but she speaks differently if that makes sense. shes just something else and the things that come out of her mouth are a complete shock to everyone. plus i have a dirty mind so shocker was an added plus lol

i almost 4got during pledging my pledge sisters would call me abwhore..which went along the lines of the hoes in different area codes and i was an alpha beta

my nickname that most of the girls call me is dizzle. my real name is sunshine and i go by sunny for short. one of the girls started calling me the sun dizzle and eventually it caught on and got shortened to dizzle.

My nickname is Sissa...real name is Melissa...when I was born my cousin could not say Melissa so she said Sissa...one day I was with my mom and a friend and my mom called me Sissa and my friend cracked up and told everybody it and it has stuck since then...I am NEVER called Melissa...it's funny too because when people say bye it "See you guys later, bye Sissa" "Catch you all later...see ya Sissa" I am never called Melissa...if I am called Melissa I immediately think I did something wrong :D Sissa has pretty much become my identity now lol

'Peanut' is my nickname. i acquired it in 7th grade by my athletic coach. she named me that b/c i was so little and short. (also b/c there were 3 amanda's.) 'peanut' stuck with me all throughout high school; all of my teachers and coaches called me 'peanut.' my sorority sisters refused to call me that b/c it was my 'high school' nickname. my family and friends from where i grew up still call me 'peanut'.

the 'ttu' at the end of my name is for Texas Tech University

when i was a "new member" i aquired the nickname PHANTOM... the reasons are kept only between my sisters and i... haha, sorry!

My nickname is Lt. Cooter. Our pledge mom named us. All I can say is that I misprounced a name during one of our new member activities that had everyone lauging. Oh, and I can be a bit bossy hence the Lt.

I didn't have a pledge name, but my 5th generation lil sis calls me "great stuff." It's a lot easier than calling me her great great great great great grand big.

My lil sis' nickname was "bud." I'm not sure why. I can guess. She didn't drink until she turned after she turned 21 and was very much against it. So we named her after a beer... or at least that is what I think. I guess it can be interpreted in other ways too. ;)

That's hilarious...I think that almost every campus has a tits...we called a guy tits because of his man boobs.

Whoo hoo! I'm not the only MAGOO! I think you have to be a crackhead crazy to be called that.... :D

Other than a nickname I mentioned previously in this thread, I was also known by a few as "Creole".

I think it was just because one brother had a dream where I was talking like a Creole and about to cook up som possum.

Mine is Rocky. Cuz I sound like Rocky Balboa and somewhat resemble him...Ive had a shitload of people call me that. I didnt name myself cuz thats lame. Even My KA jersey says Rocky on the back when I play soccer.

During pledging the guys called me Webster on account that I am 6'4 and am the tallest guy in the chapter to date. How tall was the real webster???

Froot Loops: Im pretty much goofy and silly, so somehow I got froot loops

Valley Girl: because every other word I use is like, like....like really :)

One of my sisters:

Capn' Ash: because when she was little she'd order the kids in her neighborhood to do work outs and like put on little skits. She's the type of chick who's like a up and at 'em.

Tipsy: It takes only a a little for her to be wasted, lol

Spiff: cuz she's so like hooty tooty, she's very neat and orderly

My nicknames include:M-Lo,Mouse,Skiddy-Skiddy(long story) and my latest one is Squirrel(because i make a face of a squirrel when i get the giggles)I laugh way too much sometimes and can't stop so my face looks that way.Neway, other names that my sisters have are:

Princess,Cowboy, Schultzie,Nat,Anabob,Krrn,Waddles....there are others i cannot think of right now.But for me i usually call girls by their last name(we have too many girls with the same first name) i don't know what it is about the Nicole, Ashley and Melissa's.:p

I've had a lot of nicknames since I've been in college.
First it was my last name, Fishback, then I made a comment about my future husband (it changes monthly) being Keith Urban (a country singer) and they started calling me Fishback-Urban, which was shortened to Fish-Urb and now it's just Fish, which is weird, cuz that's what all my dad's friends call him. I think it's being transitioned right now, due to this month's future husband, an Australian swimmer named Ian Thorpe, but I guess we'll see about that.

My nickname was Princess. Becuz I act like a princess. And I love princesses. And I was a princess. It fits.
