Favorite NBA Team/Draft Predictions 2004
I just saw on the elevator channel that the Charlotte Bobcats look to pick 14 this week in the draft. I drive past the stadium in progress everyday, hope it is fully finished by the time the season begins. I see the stairs going up the cheap seats. :D
Anywho, we have never really talked about who is your favorite NBA team. A lot of folks on here love the Lakers.:p Then there are folks on here who are ANYONE but the Lakers. The last time I had a favorite team it was the Bulls when it was Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Kobe Bryant. It will be great to have a new current, up to date team to cheer on once again. And no I was never really a CAVS fan. Who do you all see getting traded? I believe I read that Karl Malone is now a free agent. |
I love the Orlando Magic. I know they suck but I started liking the team when it was Shaq, Penny, D. Scott, Nick Anderson, and Horace Grant. I heard that they might trade T-Mac to the Rockets though :( .

Yeah the ol school Orlando Magic and the Charlotte Hornets when Larry Johnson were cool with me too. My old roommate was IN LOVE with her some Larry Johnson. |
Larry Johnson used to have me ROFL when he was Grand Ma Ma

I'm always a Sixers fan, but my team for real for real use to be the NY Knicks. This was during Patrick Ewing playing days, and when Pat Riley was the coach. I was still a fan with Van Gundy s there as well. Once Patrick was traded, I really didn't have a favorite team. I'm in that same place right now. I still cheer for the Sixers to do well, but I don't have a do or die team anymore, and I really miss that.

Ok I'm laughing at the Petey Pablo reference but hey that's cool for Nelly. Hopefully it doesn't backfire on the Bobcats but any publicity is good publicity right?
|
I heard about Nelly this morning and his buying a % of the Bobcats. This is going to be really interesting.

Yeah those dancers might be the Apple Bottom girls. This weekend I will try to take a picture of the new stadium in progress so you all can see it. I drive past it everyday. |
Okayyy I'm waaaaaay out of the loop. *Still thinks the team in Charlotte is the Hornets*

Congrats for Nelly. If Jay can own part of the Nets, then Nelly can own part of the 'Cats.

Nope which makes it more bewildering to me. That is why I wonder why Bob skipped over Petey Pablo or Anthony Hamilton (born in Charlotte). |
My guess is that Nelly has both the money and the popularity to help the Bobcats. Think of how many people really know who PP or AH are vs. Nelly. It's all about the dollar.

Bob is counting on Nelly selling those seats...and knowing the people in Charlotte...they're gonna go hoping to see Nelly at a game...Bob Johnson is doing big things here in Charlotte...Hopefully he'll do something about this crazy traffic:mad:

I work downtown and I can only imagine what it will be like once the new stadium opens. Oh and then I have to drive past Cricket Arena just to get home, oh joy. |
