Adult Knocks Down 4 yr Old to steal foul ball: What a jerkoff

I don't know if any of you saw this on the news, but just watching how arrogant and dispicable that guy was acting was just revolting. All that for a damn foul ball.

Ah well, the whole country is calling that guy a moron anyway, so I hope someone in the Arlington area gives him a nice ass kicking.

I'm sorry for saying this with my letters on, but this guy is a first class JACKASS! What kind of YOUTH PASTOR knocks over a 4 year old kid to get a foul ball. Man, that guy is going to regret that for a long time...talk about karma, the karma semi-truck is going to hit that guy hard. What a piece of sh**. I'm glad that the kid got some cool stuff out of it though...what is wrong with people!

Peaches-n-Cream 06-16-2004 03:45 PM

I saw that on the news last night. There was a woman sitting next to him who looked like she wanted the floor to open up and swallow her for being next to such a creep. I guess that is his wife.

I am glad that Nick received all those souvenirs. He was practically trampled by that guy.

DeltaSigStan 06-16-2004 03:46 PM

This guy was EGGING the crowd on to boo him......

I always felt it an OBLIGATION to hand a foul ball over if a little kid is even within 10 feet of me.....

I wonder if this is going to turn into a "This is exactly what's wrong with America" discussion....

And who will jump to this guys defense (starang)......jk

ZTAngel 06-16-2004 03:50 PM

What a jackass. If I was the mother, I would've done a lot more to that guy than swat him with a cardboard fan and call him names. The police probably would've had to escort me out of there after I was done with him.

smiley21 06-16-2004 03:59 PM

i saw this on 'inside edition' yesterday. when the boy's mother got mad at the guy. this guy had the nerve to yell at the mother!!
and the fact that it was all on tape for all the country to see. he is the real american idiot.

vanda 06-16-2004 04:04 PM

I saw the mom & kid on Good Morning America today. She said the guy and his girlfriend left in the middle of the third but went in separate directions. Charlie Gibson did come to his defense yesterday saying the kid was young, he'll have many more tries at a foul ball while the guy who snatched it saw it as his last chance of getting one.

RACooper 06-16-2004 04:21 PM

All I can say is wow... just wow....

I do hope that there is karma becuase this guy deserves to get a ten ton pile of sh*t dropped on him.

CatStarESP4 06-16-2004 04:26 PM

I read that the Rangers and Cardinals gave Nick two bats and four baseballs. At least there are still decent and uber decent people out there!

That man is a total classless jerk and a piece of $h!t. The sad irony is that he was a youth pastor. I would like to know if he quit that position on his own or he was forced out of it. Still, it makes you wonder about human nature.

Ummm he was only 28, if the man was 98 MAYBE it's your last chance but it's not like the Rangers were relocating sometime soon.

aephi alum 06-16-2004 05:08 PM

Nice.

Kevin 06-16-2004 05:46 PM

If I were an Al Qaeda publicity man, I would edit video of this guy into anti-American propaganda. He makes me want to bomb something.

whatever:rolleyes: I'd like to see Charles Gibson in that same situation and see how he feels if he caught a fly ball in front of a small child. I bet you he'll get the same heat as that youth pastor.

Unregistered- 06-16-2004 05:56 PM

Tacky and no class. I'd hate to have been the lady next to him.

I hope that the boy knows that the world is filled with a lot of nice and decent people, and I hope that he never has to encounter an asshole like Mr. Youth Pastor ever again. :)

smiley21 06-16-2004 06:15 PM

thank you charles gibson for giving me a new reason why i cannot stand to watch 'good morning america'

AGDLynn 06-16-2004 07:06 PM

I admit I didn't see it but yesterday on The View (I think), they showed more of the broadcast and that the little boy wasn't even reaching for it???

Munchkin03 06-16-2004 07:33 PM

Stupid fatass.

I was watching Inside Edition and I really started laughing when the little boy's mom was hitting him with the program. Stupid fatass deserved it.

I can't stand fatass men. Especially ones who wear Tevas like he did.

I dunno.. if I was 60 pounds and some 28 year old man was charging at me to get something in my area, my instinct would be to get away, not to compete with the man that is 3-4 times my size.

dakareng 06-16-2004 08:30 PM

If the guy had caught the ball while standing AT HIS OWN SEAT then I say he could keep it (if he wants to be a selfish jerk), with the pretext that the kid would have plenty of other chances to catch a foul ball. (not that I would have kept it... if a foul ball comes my way, I get out of the way so kids can get it) What truly irks me is that he fell over the row of seats bowling over a small child. And then holds up the ball as if he expects people to congratulate him?!? I'd have swatted him with more than a piece of cardboard!! hmmm... think mom could call one of those ambulance-chasing attorneys and claim 'pain and suffering'?

According to the local news, both the Cardinals and Rangers gave him autographed bats and balls and the Rangers gave free tickets to another game.

tinydancer 06-16-2004 10:50 PM

That asshole's behavior made me embarrassed to live in the area. I'd like to drop-kick him through the goal posts of life!

(yes, I realize I'm mixing metaphors here)

winnieb 06-16-2004 11:46 PM

This guy was an ass to that poor little boy. I promise you, if that had been my kid that man could only hope I would have been as nice as that mother.

I have the nightly news on and they just had a follow up on this story. The man is writing a letter of apology to the boy, giving him the ball, and giving him tickets to future Rangers games. I guess the public humilation got to the man.

DeltaSigStan 06-17-2004 11:14 AM

That doesn't buy him any sympathy in my book.

it is hard to see any sincerity behind that man's apologies.

it doesnt matter if that boy was going for the ball or not. that man had no right to do what he did. completely obnoxious

Ohhh I completely agree. I was not trying to imply the guy made right on the situation. He was wrong--- and still is, regardless of what he does now. It is like an aplogy after being told you need to apologize--worthless!!!!

The guy is still an ass in my book.

dakareng 06-17-2004 10:39 PM

It reeks of insincerity especially since the newspaper quoted the senior paster at his church saying "he really likes kid" === uh, huh... you want to KEEP your job? You apologize... (he shouldn't have to be told to apologize for knocking a child into the seat...

AlphaSigOU 06-17-2004 10:51 PM

I still think they need to make an example out of him... one thwack of a baseball bat at a time.

Take 'em out back and shoot 'em? Nahhh... too humane.

Rudey 06-18-2004 12:47 AM

So they showed this on craig kilborn and craig thinks the real question should be why is this guy's ass wet?

-Rudey
--I agree.

DeltaSigStan 06-18-2004 11:24 AM

HAHAHAHAHAHA
