favorite drunk food!

What's everyone's favorite drunk food?

Mine is pokey sticks...they are made by a pizza place on my campus (and on a hand full of other campuses): its pizza bread which i think they butter and then add tons of shredded pizza cheese (kinda like cheesy bread from Papa John's, but 10 times better)...dip em in ranch dressing or marinara and you've met your calorie intake for the day!....hence my freshman weight

2nd favorites: Jimmy John's sandwitches, chocolate candy, or peanut butter

sigtau305 06-14-2004 06:39 PM

Either Paninni's Overstuff Sandwich ( Tuna or Bacon /Ham and Cheese) or Gyro.

KSigkid 06-14-2004 06:43 PM

Haven't had it in a while, but...I used to buy a box of those Weaver chicken tenders (frozen), warm them up with buffalo sauce, and have them with bleu cheese dressing. Those were the best...

And a big reason why gained all the weight that I did sophomore year.

chideltjen 06-14-2004 06:43 PM

hmmm... nacho cheese doritos or the guacomole ones. Pretty much any salty snack with an insane amount of calories. :) Although we generally make a Jack in the Box run after bar hopping.

efcheerBB 06-14-2004 06:56 PM

The last time I was drunk, I had such a craving for White Castle cheeseburgers. They were pretty good as a drunk food. Normally I don't have cravings when drunk. This was a rarity.

Sister Havana 06-14-2004 06:59 PM

There's a reason Taco Bell is right by all sorts of bars in Bloomington...and is open til 4am. :D

valkyrie 06-14-2004 07:03 PM

In Boulder, the best place to hit up for late night drunk food is Pita Pit. In Chicago, though, nothing beats the cheddar fries from the Wiener Circle, with pickles on the side -or- a cheese sub and garlic butter fries from Submarine Tender in Forest Park.

ADPiAkron 06-14-2004 07:49 PM

My friends and I used to have the weirdest craving for peanut butter on Saltine crackers after being out at the bars!! We would come home and almost eat a jar of pb and a box of crackers--plus tons of water!! It was the hangover cure-all at the time! (Or at least we thought so! )

bluefish81 06-14-2004 08:23 PM

Gyros, preferably chicken when I'm in Ames, from the Gyro man. When I'm out in Des Moines, we head to a pizza by the slice place.

SSS1365 06-14-2004 08:46 PM

Pizza, which is funny because I'm not usually a big pizza person.

kddani 06-14-2004 08:53 PM

As any good pittsburgher would say: O Fries with Cheese :)

Also for some reason I really crave carbs, usually make toast when i get home!

mu_agd 06-14-2004 08:58 PM

adqtpimel will understand this

BAGEL & DELI (and you gotta get the chips past the bouncers!)

and bruno's pizza from the guy selling it in the middle of the sidewalk.

Unregistered- 06-14-2004 09:00 PM

As gross as it sounds. A bowl of beanless chili and rice from Zippy's, our 24 hour restaurant here.

If Zippy's isn't available, a #5 Sourdough Jack no tomato from Jack in the Crack or Cinnamon Twists from Taco Smell will do.

Kevin 06-14-2004 09:21 PM

Taco Bell.

33girl 06-14-2004 09:36 PM

A primanti's samich with hot sauce of course...

or else the bad pizza from the Strip.

AlphaGamDiva 06-14-2004 09:39 PM

the .98 pizzas you get at kroger....i stock up b/4 i go out.....

i'm also a big fan of KRYSTAL'S (never white castle -barf- ) or the waffle house.

Waffle House! The memories keep on flooding back! Best drunk food ever, and the people who work there always have ways to make me laugh.

But, my favorite drunk food has to be cheese fries. Or anything involving cheese and potatoes. Such a good mix. :)

Xylochick216 06-14-2004 10:10 PM

I always crave fatty fried food. Usually if I can have fries, I'm good. Or pita chips from our on-campus bar. They always hit the spot.

CatStarESP4 06-15-2004 01:34 AM

It all depends upon what I am drinking at the moment:

Chips or chili with beer

Desserts with wine or Grand Marnier

Pike1483 06-15-2004 02:36 AM

IHOP!!!!!

I'm gonna have to go with IHOP! It's the drunk-food of choice at my school; probably because it's one of 3 restaraunts in town that's open all night. I've been to IHOP tipsy many a times, and the waiters/waitresses there are always funny and deal with sooo much crap from all the students. When I'm particularly tipsy, I like to order the "Funny Face," the chocolate chip pancakes with a happy face made of whipped cream on them, and I always think it's the funniest thing in the world. Some good breakfast food and carb-packed pancakes is always a good tip to preventing a hangover. Good times.

lifesaver 06-15-2004 04:25 AM

Taco Cabana

Breakfast Taco Combo #2

1 Potato and Egg Taco
1 Bean and Cheese Taco
Coke to Drink
To Go.

No matter how drunk I get I know my address and how to order at TC's.

DGqueen17 06-15-2004 05:57 AM

Hot dogs from the hot dog man mmmm

OK, do the Waffle Houses near you have that little song about the Waffle House in their jukeboxes? It's like "I'm grillin' up for you tonight" or something like that. I know the one in Roanoke, VA does. My ex-boyfriend grew up there and he used to always sing it and one night I finally went down there to the Waffle House and I fell out of my chair because it was so funny.

Anyway, these days I like to put some shredded cheese in a tortilla and warm it up, sort of a low-budget quesadilla.

KSigkid 06-15-2004 09:07 AM

Couple of additions:

The Sausage Guy over by Fenway Park; great after having a few too many beers at the game or at the Beer Works.

Also, a great pizza-by-the-slice place around Fanieul Hall; can't remember the name though

Definitely Pokey Sticks! :)

CarolinaCutie 06-15-2004 10:44 AM

GOSH I miss Pokey Sticks.

And all the Waffle House songs are great :)

ZTAngel 06-15-2004 11:00 AM

mmmmm...Midnight Pizza

It's a 24-hour pizza place in downtown Orlando. It's located right by the clubs so that between 2am-3am all the drunkards can go there and get some food. The pizza is so greasy and cheesy...I'm salivating just thinking of it. It always makes me feel better after I've drank too much.

winneythepooh7 06-15-2004 11:03 AM

When I was in undergrad, there was this place called "JB's". They made little burgers and little chicks, kinda like White Castle. They also had wings and mozzarella sticks and all that other healthy food. There was also a pizza place everyone went to. Now the only place really open late in my neighborhood is Dunkin Donuts. I usually get some kind of sandwich but I really don't drink a whole lot anymore. I am getting old and don't go out to get "trashed".

I thought this was food you eat AFTER you're drunk, not while you're drinking. The only thing I eat when I drink is the fruit. ;)

Anyway, absolute favorite drunk food is a chicken gyro from greasy Steve's, but I will always settle for subs. :)

Lady Pi Phi 06-15-2004 12:13 PM

The best food when you're drunk is; Street Meat, Sun Sun's Chinese Food, Subway, Pizza, or Pita Pit.

mmmmmmmmmmmm...............gyro...............

And if you're really hungry and don't want to wait through the line at the gyro man or Jimmy John's, $1 sammiches from Kum-n-Go are also an acceptable alternative. :D

yes, we really have a convenience store/gas station named Kum-n-Go.

chideltjen 06-15-2004 01:28 PM

Forgot these late night drunk runs...

PineCove hot dogs. It's actually called HornDogs but it's a hot dog stand right outside of a bar called Pine Cove. Good junk food.

A few friends used to go to a late night mexican restaurant after drinking. I forget what it was called. But they had burritos and "Chipotle-esque" meals at 2 am.

moe.ron 06-15-2004 01:35 PM

When I was in Buffalo, the Steaks and Eggs from Pano's. Or 2 for 1 Pizza with blue cheese. Also, Mighty Taco. Mighty Taco is too far of a walk from the bars.

lonestaradpi 06-15-2004 01:46 PM

Taco Cabana: breakfast taco combo with a been and cheese and a potato, egg with cheese. Or a bean and cheese with rice. A coke to drink.

Whataburger: Potato and egg with cheese taquito with a coke.

Dionysus 06-15-2004 01:49 PM

Ugh...what is it that makes people want to eat mexican or white castle/Krystle after drinking? *pulls out the AIR FRESHENER*

I've been around people who prefers that combo. Those three don't mix! lol

sueali 06-15-2004 03:06 PM

Here in Vegas you can get 75 -99 cent breakfast at many of the casinos (more the local casinos) I know that's what many of us eat after a night out.

I love those songs!

I forgot to add Biscuitville... it's a morning-after thing, but we always drag ourselves after a good night :) best hangover cure EVER

Most of their stores are in Iowa but they have them from Arkansas to Montana.

Kum & Go website

The coolest thing, they were founded in my dinky little hometown. Their headquarters are no longer there, but the first store still is!
