Have you ever met a bro/sister from another chapter that was just awful?
|
GCers, exercise caution if you decide to reply to this thread.
You really don't know who's reading your posts. That's all I have to say. |
WOW OTW, really sounds Like a DA to me!
Yes, take OTW advice! We said you said, they said thread? |
deleted my post, sorry, didn't realize it could get so controversial
|
I haven't but I am sure its possible. People being people and all.
|
Unfortunately yes... and more than one
|
OOH! This sounds like the kind of thread that requires us to rack out our food & booze & pull out our lawn chairs.
|
ive met a few people from other chapters and they seemed awesome
|
Yep.
Sorry, you won't get any more than that out of me. |
Isn't SHIM the only group that has brother/sisters? :p
|
Two sisters from my chapter have told me stories that didnt' leave me (or them when it happened) with that warm fuzzy "that's why you join a national organization" feeling.
|
:) I love all of my Delta Zeta sisters :)

So, no margaritas, chips & queso for this thread? |
I would answer this question by saying that I've met many women from many different chapters. They are all so different. The one thing that I have noticed universally about my sisters is their undying love for my beloved Alpha Phi. To that end, it has been easy to love every sister I have ever met. :)
|
I'll pitch in my 2 cents too. :)
I have honestly NEVER known an SAI sister I did not love. There's something about the bond we all share--what we all know--just that common "understanding" I guess, that makes it so special to me to meet other sisters. When I became a sister (like all Greeks), I made a promise of friendship to all members. NOT all Epsilon Gamma sisters; ALL SAIs, everywhere. That's not a vow I take lightly. Afterall, our founders started our org because they felt a need for a group that would promote "friendly and unselfish relations among women in the music profession." I just feel that thinking badly of another sister would be going against the entire reason we came into existance. :) |
Like Sairose, I haven't met a sister yet who was "awful." There were a few that I probably wouldn't associate with outside of sisterhood events because we didn't have a lot in common other than our bonds of sisterhood... but that happens in any GLO.
*shrug* Sisters of TBS are so rare that I'm just excited to meet others! ~ Mel. |

We TBS sisters are around I promise...... :)

Nope
I've actually never met a sister from another chapter that I didn't like and who wasn't a total sweetheart to me. Now...the girls in my own chapter.....that's a different story!
Also-I've only ever met a few girls from different sororities that I didn't like. Most of the girls I've met that are in different groups have been sweeties too. I think you are less likely to meet a rude or mean person from a different school or chapter b/c we all know to be nice to people we meet! We are more likely to dislike someone from our own campus or a near by school b/c we are together all the time and of course there is going to be some sort of conflict or whatever. I mean, no ones' perfect!:) |
Nope, I've never met a Pi Phi that I didn't like.
|
I have honestly met sisters I do not like, but there is this thing called respect. I know that I must respect these sisters no matter what. That is the thing, you may meet sisters (or brothers) that you don't like and don't get along with b/c you know some personalities just don't mesh, but you must respect each other.
That's the way I see it. :) |

The problem, though, is that the vast majority of Boston University students don't have cars because parking is non-existent. So we don't have the luxury of getting out of the city that often to even meet other chapters. During my four active years, the only time we ever saw other members was the UMass-BU football game my sophomore year. ~ mel. |

I did go to BU-- I graduated in 1997. I'm one of the active local alumni, though (and currently working on a new webpage for Eta Gamma). ~ Mel. |
