What is your type?

I always hear people say "she's not my type" or "he's not my type." What is your type, generally? I tend to date girls who are loud mouthed and bitchy, but that is a whole different thread.

OtterXO 06-08-2004 12:19 PM

Usually my type is: intelligent, confident, nice, funny, social guys. I avoid arrogant/cocky guys who think the sun rises and sets in their ass; also avoid guys with self-confidence issues (it's a fine balance with me!).

As for physical: I prefer tall, athletic, usually brown hair (not typically into blondes for some reason).

CUGreekgirl 06-08-2004 01:54 PM

The type I seem to usually end up with are the super rich guys (i.e. their parents are loaded) but they aren't doing anything with their lives.

I don't really have one "type" I go for. I've dated everything from redneck boys to fraternity guys and just about everything in between.

The one thing they all have in common is being taller than 6ft 1. I'm only 5 ft, but I always end up dating the tall guys!

winneythepooh7 06-08-2004 01:59 PM

every guy i've ever dated is completely different from the next so i don't have any specific type. i am waiting for my rudey and my russ though in my next relationship.

swissmiss04 06-08-2004 02:18 PM

Physically: Taller than me (between 5'9" and 6'4"); relatively in shape but not muscle bound; not terribly picky about hair and eye color, although I'm partial to brown hair and blue eyes (call me Electra all you want); nice smile; meaningful eyes; and good with his hands

Personality: ambitious; outgoing, but a hint of shyness; intellectually curious; appreciative of artistic endeavors; creative; good, if twisted, sense of humor; adventurous

valkyrie 06-08-2004 02:25 PM

I go for guys who are very laid back and chill. They're usually fun and quirky, always poor, and maybe a little artsy or creative in some way.

Corsulian 06-08-2004 03:49 PM

Physical (usually): short, petite, brunette, big brown eyes

Otherwise: non-crazy, intelligent, laid-back, non-bitch

Kevin 06-08-2004 05:21 PM

Physically, must be shorter than me (I'm 5'7") and not overweight.

Must be able to carry on a conversation.

Must be of comparable intelligence.

ADPiSAI 06-08-2004 05:23 PM

what I want:
dark haired musician types, usually with some kind of tattoo or piercing, not overweight, but with a little more meat on their bones.

what I always seem to get:
really tall, skinny, clean-cut, light haired guys. And the "I Love Nerds" tshirt that my friend found for me seems to sum it up... Oh well.

sororitygirl2 06-11-2004 08:06 PM

My type tends to be intelligent, attractive, witty. I like guys that dream big and have the motivation to go after things. I like them confident, but with a cute sort of shyness once in awhile.

Physically, it's all over the board because I don't base things completely on looks. But typically, darker hair, height (tall!) and a good body don't hurt their chances. Oh, and usually clean cut - whether it be in an All-American golfin' businessman sort of way, a casual Abercrombie flip-flop wearin' (with maybe a little scruffiness) sort of way, or a metrosexual techno-party Armani sort of way.

ADqtPiMel 06-11-2004 08:54 PM

Every guy that I've ever dated has been in a band, mostly because I tend to pick up guys at concerts. I veer away from huge muscle-y guys and guys who think they're really hot stuff.

Physically, I prefer tall, skinny guys with dark coloring who wear expensive jeans and t-shirts of bands no one has ever heard of.

The Ideal Woman :Smart, Sense of Humor, Open-Minded and enjoys having fun.

This is hilarious hearing y'all talk about musician types... I played in a band for about a year before they broke up and I got tired of the scene -- played fiddle.

I can say that chicks never go after fiddle players -- prefer singers, lead guitarists run a close second. I wasn't even on the radar :D

That was back in my long-haired days though.

If I looked like my bro Boyd Tinsley (fiddle - DMB), maybe I'd have had a better shot?

I guess when chicks fantasize about dating rock stars, they don't really picture a guy playing the fiddle -- unless they're into country and a country fiddle player I was not.

Rio_Kohitsuji 06-13-2004 09:23 AM

Physically: tall (5'7-5'9), dark curly hair, dark eyes, thicker build, & a nice butt :D

Personality: musician-artsy type, a lil bit of cockiness, sarcastic, great w/his family & mine, good w/kiddies, ambitious, sweet & caring

--I finally got this type after a lot of mistakes!

How tall are you? I think 5'7" to 5'9" is on the shorter side for guys... I tend to prefer 6' or taller, but have dated as short as 5'9" - that was a stretch for me, as I was taller than him in some of my heels.

I know--when I saw 5'7", I was like, "the men in my family are about 5'8", and we're all considered small people!"(I'm 5'5" by the way). The boy is 6'3" and that's juuuust fine for me.

With that, I find myself going for tall guys (ie, taller than 5'10") with brown or black hair. I like artsy boys, not athletic. Chunkay boys please do not apply. He's gotta be laid-back and chill, and not about the traditional domestic roles.

Never did country.

Doesn't sound too complex though. After I was able to make a fiddle work when we had a rapper on stage with us (we were a jam band in the tradition of DMB/Phish), I figure I could do just about anything ;)

Those were some fun days though. Beats the hell out of playing in church.

Actually, they do like me......thats where all the hate comes in. I find it repulsive when a girl looks at me the same way she looks at a salad bar. And you can always tell by that twitchy little look they have in their eyes.

i highly doubt that every single overweight girl looks at you like that. i know i wouldn't.

Dionysus 06-16-2004 08:23 PM

I thought about this....

I've already mentioned "what is my type"....however there's only 2 guys I've had true feelings for and only 3 guys I've dated (none became serious :(). NONE of those five guys were my "type". Strong feelings don't discriminate and I don't think I will end up with my type. I don't know if that is good or bad.

Me too.

Physically-- 6'0 or taller, muscular-but not too. Tend to gravitate towards dark hair/dark eyes, but Mr Amycat is blond/blue and I have forgotten why I dated so many brunettes. lol
