fast food places
What is the best/worst fast food place? Your fave fast food? What do you hate/love about fast food places?
I went to Wendy's today and they upsized my order without me saying I wanted it. I ordered a #7 chicken sandwich meal and the drive thru guy goes "OK I am gonna biggy size that for you". I hate that stuff. I love McDonald's salads and sundaes yummy. |
I used to work at RadioShack -- "assuming the sale" has long been a closing technique in the commissioned selling universe. As "biggie" sizing a meal is almost pure profit for Wendy's, it is not really surprising to me that they are doing this.

I can proudly say I haven't eaten fast food since I began college....August 26th, 1998. :D It's just too greasy and loaded with stuff I don't want to put into my body.

I don't have a favorite, but my least favorite is McDonald's. I worked at one when I was high school, and the stories I could tell you could make you not want to eat there either. So I won't tell them ;)
|
Subway because I can eat reasonably healthy vegetarian food and it's cheap as all hell.
|
Carl's Jr (thank God they have one in Texas!) - cause their burgers are excellent!
Booger King - cause I can have it my way and not wait forever and a day for it. SuckDonalds? Only when I absolutely have to. |

I'm a fan of Chick Fil A and KFC. For some odd reason the only day I ever strongly crave Chick Fil A is on Sundays (they're closed Sundays). |

I'm not a fan of Chick Fil-A. At all.
My favorite fast food restaurant is In-N-Out (in Cali and I think Nevada). Their fries are made on-site (they don't come in a bag!), their beef is local, and their milkshakes are just ice cream and milk--none of that powdered isht. I might need to take a Cali run sometime this summer just to get my In-N-Out on! |
OK, the original Nathan's, in Coney Island, is a mecca for fast food. The hot dogs are among the best, and their french fries are amazing. They also have fried seafood, which is a perfect fast food for the ocean, and much more.
Chick-fil-A has amazing chicken sandwiches. I'm convinced that they use crack cocaine as an ingredient to keep people coming back. They're that addictive. They also have great waffle fries. Roll-n-Roaster is a Brooklyn based purveyor of roast beef sandwiches. After 33 years, they finally opened their second location in Manhattan. Sassy's Sliders is a one location fast food restaurant, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, that serves small square hamburgers called sliders. You're probably thinking "White Castle." This difference is Sassy's sliders are really, really good. Much better that White Castle. |
fast food is so gross. several months ago, i ate a crossant from Burger King. by the time i got to the end of the sandwich, i notice a strong cleanser taste. i wanted to puke. turner me completely off to fast food. the only thing that i will eat is hotcakes and sausage biscuit from McDonalds. other than that, forget it.
i CANNOT STAND when the kitchen in the restaurant is open and you can see the workers make the food with no gloves. when it is open, at least they cannot hide anything. but still put on some gloves! |
Ah The Real Deal for Fast food and no damn chains!:)
Paddys Burger Shack for Pork Tendor Loins and Fried Schrooms, Kansas City Ks. 1106, best Cheeese Burgers with fried onions with ALL of the fixings and Curly Fries, Pittsburg, Ks. If eat it all, I will pay for it!:D Best Fast Food Booger King, worst, Hardees. Well it depends on what you get! Burgers, B K, Fries, MickeyD, Best Breakfast Burrito Mickey Ds, worst, Sonic, best Croisant with Ham and cheese, Hardees. Damn I is gettin HUNGRY! |
I love Long John Silvers for the chicken. Soooo good. And I also love Subway and Wendy's.
I can't stand Chick-Fil-A. We have one on campus, and it's the nastiest food I've ever had. I know real Chick-Fil-As are good, but seeing the gross food from ours makes me want to puke. I'm also mad at McDonald's (especially the one right near me) because they got rid of my favorite sauce for my McNuggets, and I can't eat them without McDonald's honey :( |
I'm not sure what counts as fast food and I pretty much never eat from anywhere that has a drive through. I love Baja Fresh lately though. Really lives up to the name.
|
Best Fast Food: Chick-fil-A, Arby's, Sonic, Jack in the Box, Taco Cabana
Worst: Taco Hell Best breakfast fast food: Whataburger (awesome taquitos) and Taco Cabana |

they just opened one here. i want to try it out but it is always so crowded |
There are Whataburgers everywhere out here. I haven't actually tried one out, yet. I think it's the commercials with the A1 Thick and Hearty Sauce burger that have me weirded out.
Sorry for the hijack :) |
Mmmmm...Whataburger is also really good, except they load their sandwiches with lots of cheap watery lettuce and sometimes too much mustard. But if you tell them to go easy on the lettuce and mustard, it's damned tasty.
|
My favorites are Sonic and Chick-Fil-A.
|
Sonic, fazollis, and blimpie
|
Mmmmm...I forgot Fazoli's. I looove their garlic bread.
|
Oooh, I love Fazoli's! I went there all the time when I was in Bloomington. I wish there was one closer to me here.
Around here it's got to be Portillo's, Brown's Chicken, and Popeye's. I like Hardees but it isn't in this area anymore. Burger King and Wendy's are pretty good, and I really like McDonald's Chicken McNuggets, though I'm not fond of their fries at all. As for the "healthier" chains, I like Quiznos and Boston Market a lot. By the way, Subway, at least the ones in downtown Chicago, is having a customer appreciation promotion: any footlong sub for $3.99. :) I like them better now that I can get cheeses other than American on my sandwich. I used to love Arthur Treacher's Chicken 'n Chips (I am not a fish person) but I don't think it exists anymore. An A1 Thick 'N Hearty Sauce Burger sounds wonderful. I love putting A1 on my burgers...too bad we don't have Whataburger around here! |
I don't eat a lot of fast food because I hate grease, but Subway is OK. There's one near where I work, so I go there for lunch sometimes.
Tell me this...why does anybody eat at Taco Bell? Everyone I know who eats there gets sick afterwards, but they love it. |

I LOVE McDonald's Breakfast. Eggs, Sausage & Hash Browns. I know it's sooo bad but I really love it. When I was a little we would leave for car trips in the weee hours of the morning and stop for breakfast and I loved it! Chick Fil A's lemonade is very yummmy. Subway makes me think of the beach because we always stop there on our way to grab lunch. |

I love Subway because there's so many different kinds of sandwiches to choose from and many of them are healthy!
I don't eat at McDs too much anymore, but #1 Extra Value Meals (the Big Macs) are my favorite. I love McDs french fries! I'll go to Taco Bell only if the 24 hr drive thru line at Jack in the Box is too long. But my favorite...hands down. Where else? LOL. KFC, and I'm not kidding! |
I would think twice before eating from a place called "In-and-Out", lol. I don't think we have any of those around here.
Good: Del Taco, Taco Bell (nachos only!), White Castle, Fazoli's, S'barros, Chick-fila (i love their nuggets and waffle fries), Sonic, Popeye's. Bad: Wendy's, Arby's, Panda Express, any subway place (especially after what happened to my mom). |
I am not a fan of fast food. However, I like Subway and Schlotzky's.
When I lived in New York, I would usually go to Burritoville. They use brown rice and I had a choice of tortilla. Sometimes, I would also go to Cosi |
In & Out Burger is so yummy! When I go out west, I make it a point to go there.
I like Taco Bell every once in awhile. Can someone tell me where there's a Sonic around here? I've seen the commercials a lot on TV but have never seen one in NY. (and they air them in NY?!?) What kinds of food do they serve? |
I only eat the chicken nuggets and salads from Mickey D's maybe a cheese burger every now and then.
LOVE subway, fazoils, chillis, taco bell (certain items), backyard burger, cajun grill, carribean sunshine bakery (orlando), wendys and popeyes. |
I don't discriminate. I probably like all fast food places. And as far as my health goes. Eating fast food every now and then isn't going to kill me. I don't eat it all the time or anything...but I love it. That's awesome to those who don't eat it. I don't have the time or the discipline.
As far as a favorite---it's hard to say... When i do eat fast food I usually want something different every time. lately it's been Sonic. |

Well I'd like to tell you that we do.....but after working there for many years, I'm sorry to say that we don't. However, we more or less like to call it a cult following.... As far as my faves....definately CFA and Subway. I like BK, Wendys, and Arbys but I can't call them faves. I very much don't like McDs. EWWW! |
"Good" fast food: Baja Fresh, Taco Cabana, Wendy's, Subway (love the low-carb wraps!), Boston Market (though I'm not sure that qualifies as fast food). Sadly we don't have Baja Fresh or TC up here.
"Bad" fast food: Mickey D's, Taco Bell ("make a run for the toilet") A great story from a friend of mine: When she was in high school, she and a few of her friends worked at Burger King part-time for some extra $. One of them got fired. So he went across the street to Mickey D's and got hired there. He still ate at the BK, though... hmm... makes ya wonder... |

i worked at Chick Fil A too. After you have seen the sandwiches be made, it aint nothing special anymore. there is a lot of flour and breading mix that goes into the sandwich, but no crack. i ate so many waffle fries while working there, i could have joined a support group |
Just got a job working downtown and have quickly found that we have TONS of fast-food-like places for lunch. The ones that are worth a crap are not chains (or at least, they are not that I'm aware or are very small).
For sandwiches, I go to Neptune's. Sometime next week I'm going to try and stop in at this Brazilian restaurant that has some great salads, sandwiches, etc. I get lots of sushi... It's all pretty good stuff. Occasionally, I'll make a trip to Arby's. I guess that's the only real fast food place I've been lately. As for traditional fast food, the only time I have to get some real greasy crap is after (or during) a night of consuming large amounts of beer. Taco Bell just hits the spot for some reason on those nights. |
