Delta Beta (UL - Lafayette) - I am pleased to say that they picked up 13 wonderful women! Quota was 24 and they have a series of fabulous CORs set up. I am confident that they will COR to Quota again this year!

I forgot include that they got two legacies!

Gamma Delta (U of South Alabama) - I am very proud of this chapter too. They received Quota plus one for 23 fantastic new members!

anyone know how Lambda Sigma at UGA did?

OleMissGlitter 08-21-2004 11:35 AM

I am pretty sure Lamda Sigma did well!

The B Girl 08-23-2004 07:41 AM

Has anyone heard the results for Omicron (UT - K) or UGA?

aopirose 08-23-2004 11:25 AM

UGA has 62 baby pandas!

OleMissGlitter 08-23-2004 11:54 AM

Yes I am so happy for UGA! They got 62 baby pandas! I just got word! GO LAMBDA SIGMA CHAPTER OF AOII! :)

aoiikristi 08-23-2004 02:40 PM

Does anyone know if they have a bid list posted?
One of my former students was an AOII legacy to Lambda Sigma and I'm curious to find out if she pledged there.

I haven't seen one but why don't you contact Sis. She is the chapter advisor. My fingers are crossed for her.

Edited because I read this again and it made no sense without "crossed".

The B Girl 08-23-2004 09:29 PM

Yea for UGA!! Was 62 quota? I heard that half the chapters there didn't take quota. Is that true?

aoiikristi 08-24-2004 09:10 AM

That's what I heard too. I think it has to do with the use of release figures and making the larger houses cut more women early on--the idea being that it will either make quota less or women will have to consider some of the smaller/mid-sized houses and it will have the effect of evening things out a bit.

From what I've heard, NPC is piloting a system similar to this, but UGA is using their own version of it.

edited to add:
The alternative to this new system on many campuses is that you end up with quite a few women who are not matched anywhere, and you are faced with either having to do quota additions for the larger chapters (not good because it makes the large chapters even larger and keeps the smaller ones from making quota), or you just have a lot of really unhappy women on bid day who have done everything they thought they needed to do and still end up short-changed.

IMO--this is better!

aopirose 08-24-2004 11:32 AM

aoiikristi is absolutley correct.

To answer your questions B, yes, quota was 62 and yes, half of the chapters didn't make quota. Please keep in mind that most of the chapters who didn't match quota only missed by 1 or 2. (Others did miss by more but you get the picture.) Those chapters then snapped to quota but snaps are not going to be included on the initial stats release. All everyone sees (and talks about) initially is the report that 9 of 18 didn't MATCH quota but by the end of the day, the majority of chapters will have it. Make sense?

The B Girl 08-24-2004 09:36 PM

Thanks Aopirose, for the clarification and the update!!

AOIIsilver 08-25-2004 09:10 AM
