Ditto.

I will buy a new box of wine to celebrate . . .

ZTAngel 06-04-2004 04:53 PM

This is a great day. I've heard horrible things about them from people who have met them. They're a bunch of pompous jerks and don't have any right to be. They made their whole career out of trying to (unsuccessfully) sound like Pearl Jam.

swissmiss04 06-04-2004 04:55 PM

I'll drink some hot chocolate to that (extra whipped cream, for Deltalum!)

Our campus radio station banned Creed from its playlist back in 99 or 2000.

An alternative radio station in the bay area did the same. They even had ads: Creed free since... (can't remember the date).

Thank goodness they are gone... no more cheesy power ballads with a Pearl Jam feel.

Yeah, Creed: Butt Rock with a 90s feel. And they can't even compare to Pearl Jam. Nor should they have tried.

Like me. I'm a fan of Creed. It's sad they decided to break up, but nothing last forever.

I ran into some 17 year olds on the subway...and they had taken these Good Charlotte patches and safety-pinned them to their plaid kilts...I wanted to lean over and tell them that they weren't punk. That I, in my pearls, headband, and pink twinset, was far more punk than they'd ever be.

But I restrained myself.

SO glad Creed is gone. A guy from my HS was the original bass or guitar player...luckily he jumped off that ship.

adpijonesy 06-05-2004 01:01 PM

being a Tallahassee girl, I should shed a tear... but I won't

There are still old schoolers in this town who are hardcore Creed fans (yes I had friends at the original CD release party), I guess now they'll have to find some other fun.

Sister Havana 06-05-2004 01:15 PM

YAAAAAY! :)

Jill1228 06-05-2004 01:59 PM

I liked them...until they cancelled 2 shows in a row in the Seattle area! Yes I had tickets to see them! Then they got on my isht list!

I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to do this. Good Charlotte opened for New Found Glory at a concert I went to, and there were about 5 bajillion 14-year old girls in "punk" clothes, carrying "I Heart Benji" signs. I wanted to mutilate someone.

ETA- Thank God Creed is gone.

sororitygirl2 06-05-2004 06:29 PM

Thank God they are done. They blow.

GMUBunny 06-05-2004 06:59 PM

Oh how sad....

I'm sorry, but wearing punk clothes at 14 isn't really punk. Carrying "I Heart" anyone signs definitely isn't punk. Maybe it's just a misguided fashion statement? :D

moe.ron 06-06-2004 11:07 AM

If you want to see real punk, make sure you catch Bad Religion.
