A request for my sisters

Sisters--I have been a member of Alpha Gamma Delta for eight years and look forward to the rest of my life with so many wonderful sisters. I need your prayers desperately. My husband and I have been struggling with infertility for four years, although we only started treatments about eight months ago we are quickly running out of money. Please keep us in your thoughts and pray that we will be blessed with a healthy pregnancy soon...we only have a few more tries until we are out of money and the chances that we would conceive naturally are astronomically against us. My husband is a wonderful man and I have spent my entire life wanting to be a mom. Also, my father in law is dying slowly from advanced prostate cancer so please pray for our family in general and him in particular.

I appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.

Loyally!

I don't know the procedures involved but I have no doubt that they are financially and emotionally draining. If you need someone to chat with, just let us know!

Could you tell us what school you went to and/or where you are living now? We have the AGD Roll Call thread if you feel comfortable posting there.

Very good memory Lynn!!!
Ms Hyphenated Lady and I met in 6th grade-- 19years later we are still friends---she was my sis-dot...

Ms Hyphenated would make a great mother--- heck I offer her my kids (or at least one of them) on a weekly basis--she thinks she needs her own!! ;)

AGDLynn 06-05-2004 09:32 AM

I cheated a little although I did remember, I did a search, lol. ;) :D

MereMere21 06-05-2004 10:15 AM

my prayers are with you hon *hugs*

I've never struggled with infertility, but I'm familiar with the pain as several of my friends have. I hope you and your husband are blessed with a bundal of joy very soon!

HyphenatedLady 06-06-2004 09:08 AM

Keep it up!

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers...it may already be helping. I am supposed to go for a blood pregnancy test on Tuesday if Nature hasn't called and so far so good. I keep praying myself that it really happened this time.

And AGDAlum (Wendi) does give me her kids on a regular basis...she has two beautiful boys that I would keep if I could. She couldn't be a better friend, sister or mom.

I too will send good thoughts and prayers your way! Here's hoping for good news on Tuesday!

LIEP,

Dee

HyphenatedLady 06-06-2004 08:06 PM

A little anxious...

I took a home test and it came up positive so I am praying that it was accurate...let's hope that the blood test confirms it and everything works out.

Thank you all for your support...aren't sisters great?

Tina:D

mu_agd 06-06-2004 08:09 PM

congrats on your home test! i'll be keeping fingers and toes crossed that it was 100% accurate!

AGDee 06-06-2004 08:29 PM

Well, I have to say... when I took a home test when I suspected I was pregnant, it was positive. I went to the doctor a couple days later and they did a urine test that was negative. They did a blood test too, since I'd had a positive home test and that one was positive! That home test was more accurate than the doctor's! Blood test will tell for sure though.

Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you!

Dee

HyphenatedLady 06-07-2004 09:32 PM

It was true

Amazing isn't it how life works out...I went to the fertility clinic today and had a blood serum done...it came back positive and my progesterone level looks super so I am really excited. I ask that you all still pray that I have a healthy full term pregnancy.

Thank you all so much.

Okay... so we are all hopeing and praying for one bundle of joy... but we know that having "help" to get just one, normally produces two or three or four...
Good Luck.... I have always wanted twins!

MereMere21 06-08-2004 10:24 AM

congratulations! wishing you a happy & healthy 9 months!

Taualumna 06-08-2004 10:50 AM

Congrats!! :)

HyphenatedLady 06-08-2004 11:12 AM

Thanks Everyone!

Tanks so much for all your messages...yes there is a chance that I will have twins but only about 13%...I would like twins but I am not sure we could afford twins...we will figure it out if we have to though.

Hummmmm.... see that Tina-- yet another mention of QUADS!!!!
Really the quads around the corner from me are really cute, sweet, well behaved kids!!! You'd do well with that many!!!!

--ok, now i am taking the phone off the hook and locking my door, as soon as Tina reads this she will be rushing over here to kill me!!! :)

HyphenatedLady 06-09-2004 04:05 PM

I had IUI!

I had IUI Wendi...as you well know...I have a 13% chance of twins and less than 1/2 of 1% chance of a higher multiple birth number...It isn't like the risk with in-vitro...please don't say triplets or quads...I should know for sure on the 25th...I get to have my first ultrasound!

Thanks (I typed it right this time)!

Tina

AlphaGamDiva 06-10-2004 03:29 AM

this is so exciting!!!! CONGRATS!!! please keep us updated!

GtownGirl98 06-10-2004 09:23 AM

Please educate... what is IUI? I know what the invetro is but what is IUI?

DWAlphaGam 06-10-2004 11:26 AM

Congratulations, Tina! :)

HyphenatedLady 06-11-2004 01:43 PM

IUI

IUI is intrauterine insemination what used to be artificial insemination. They catheterize the cervice and shoot the sperm right into the fallpian tubes. This is combined with chlomid which induces ovulation and internal ultrasounds that show when you will ovulate so everything is optimized.

GtownGirl98 06-14-2004 09:11 AM

Ouch!

HyphenatedLady 06-14-2004 08:03 PM

Definitely!

Ouch is the right word but so far the four months of annoyance has paid off. I am so happy...typical pregnancy so far...tired, sore breasts, indigestion but no morning sickness yet...it should hit this week if it is going to.

Keep praying for us...there is a definite chance of twins...my hormone levels were very high for so early on. We just hope for a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby or babies.

Tina

HyphenatedLady 06-26-2004 09:13 AM

I had my ultrasound yesterday!

I had my ultrasound today and instead of seeing one baby we saw two babies! They both had strong heartbeats. Everything looks good so far. Please keep praying we certainly need it!

Tina

mu_agd 06-26-2004 10:23 AM

Had a scare yesterday and went to the emergency room. On light duty for the moment but both babies still look good. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Update on the Babies

Here are links to their pictures...hope you enjoy. The babies are growing perfectly. They measured exactly the right size and the same size and they had identical heart rates of 156.

The individual pictures look like little teddy bears.

We really appreciate anyone's thoughts and prayers. I am not going to be able to return to work after the babies come and will probably end up on bed rest for several weeks before. We are hoping I can avoid bed rest so we are grateful for your support.

I hear that convention was awesome. I plan to leave the toddlers with my husband the next time around.

Tina

littlebritches 07-26-2004 12:37 PM

Congratulations and best of luck to all of you!!

AGDTink 07-29-2004 09:12 PM

YAY!!! Babies are fun!!! I can't wait until I get married and become a mommy!!!
My prayers are with you in this time, that it will be joyous.

HyphenatedLady 10-21-2004 07:19 PM

It has been a while but I wanted to update

In June and July I kept you all abreast of our struggle with infertility. I found out in June that I was pregnant and in July that it was twins. A few weeks ago we found out that we are having a boy and a girl. This has been confirmed several times now. Our little boy's name is Christian Lukas and our little girl is Patience Lynn. I will be six months pregnant on Saturday and now I am asking that you keep us in your thoughts because carrying twins is high risk. We hope that I can keep working for another 8 weeks (until Christmas break) but I may end up on bedrest before then. So far everything is going well but many twin moms go on bed rest as early as 20 or 24 weeks. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers and pray that the babies don't come before 36 weeks. They are due Valentine's day but twins usually deliver a few weeks early.

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers!

Loyally,

Tina

GtownGirl98 10-22-2004 09:14 AM

I was wondering how things were going the other day... I'm glad you got to posting before I did.

Congrats on the boy and girl (that is what I want and would love to do it all at once!).

Well... keep us updated and if you have to do the whole bedrest thing, let us know... I'm sure we can all help you find ways to occupy your time!
