Steeltrap 06-03-2004 11:55 AM

Lakers. The Pistons are great defenders. But the Lakers have the XXX factor, the megacentre.

I'm going with the Pistons. I think the Lakers have won enough. Let someone else have the glory:)

TonyB06 06-03-2004 12:52 PM

Lakers in 6, possibly 5.

I agree.

hijack: Dennis Rodman was on The View this AM. He says he will return to the NBA next year. He will make his announcement as to which team he will play for around July 16th. :o

rho4life 06-03-2004 01:19 PM

lakers... i just like the name better. pistons are car parts, not a sports team

gamma_girl52 06-03-2004 01:27 PM

prayerfull 06-03-2004 01:55 PM

I can't believe that there is any question - - LAKERS all the way!!!

honeychile 06-03-2004 02:06 PM

Don't like the Lakers, love their coach.

Lakers in seven.

abaici 06-03-2004 02:10 PM

I'm a big-time hater and I have to say...the Lakers.

Everyone knows the Western Conference is superior to the East. WHOEVER came out of the West would beat up on the Eastern winner like they stole their lunch money.

The LakeShow, The LakeShow...

As long as they don't get 3 fouls in the first half and foul out their players before the game is over...

GRITS 06-03-2004 03:56 PM

Lakers!

ambitious1 06-03-2004 04:25 PM

No Ring for Karl and Gary This Year!

The Lakers won't know how to handle Detroit's defense. Detroit hasn't done to bad on thier west coast trips. I guarantee the Pistons in 6.

GO PISTONS!!!!

mulattogyrl 06-04-2004 06:01 PM

PISTONS!

MissMonika 06-05-2004 12:36 PM

ambitious1 06-07-2004 12:45 PM

I was so proud of the way my Pistons played last night. With the expection of a few easy shots they missed, I felt they were very poised and played really comfortable. I can't wait until they come home to the Palace.

A sistah tried to get tickets but they were sold out in 6 mins.

sphinxpoet 06-07-2004 12:48 PM

Reasons I am picking the Pistons

1. Kwame Kilpatrick is Mayor of Detroit( Gotta Support Frat)

2. Defenese, Defense, Defense

3. I can't stand the Lakers right now lol. I feel like 25% of Laker fans are Bull fans from the 90s.

I'm NOT a Bulls fan from the 1990s. I'm a native SoCal.

Meanwhile, I hope that the rest of the team comes to play for the rest of this series. You saw that Shaq, the megacentre, is the XXX factor and the Wallaces can't do s*** against him. But the other members of the Lakers must step up their game.

Bella Pearl 08 06-07-2004 02:22 PM

Whoop! There it is. Pistons in the house.

Bad Boys 2 in effect. We aint never scared!

:p

DETROITTTTTTTTTTTT BASKETBALLLLLLL!!!!! :D :D :D :p

TonyB06 06-14-2004 03:33 PM

Detroit is good and is putting some serious "D-fense" on the Lakers' azz, but IMO, LA is crumbling from the inside out. At least we can end all the asinine Kobe/MJ comparisons now. MJ learned how and when to sublimate his ego for the good of the team. Kobe clearly doesn't.

Shaq, with his heavy, out-of-shape, hooked-on-phonics free-throw shootin' self, is STILL the game's biggest force-- you saw that in the 1st quarter of G4, when he was ganstering baskets like he was Al Capone. Detroit has NO ANSWER, NONE. Why this team, KB, in particular doesn't realize that and consistently feed the guy is beyond me.

It looks like LA will fumble away this title, and Detroit is there to fall on the ball. Enjoy it D-town, and let's see if you can back it up next year. But Shaq-KB's lil season-long cat-fight destroyed this team long before Detroit had anytyhing to do with it.

(as for abaici and 1savvydiva, yall is doing some major-league hating right up in through here.....please stop.)

In the words of that great sage, B-Rad,"Ain't nobody hatin'"

Beware, more Kobe bashing ahead...

Kobe's selfishness has always been an issue. At least for the past three-four years. I mean, his quest for a record (the 30-pint games) cost the Lakers a place in the Finals last year. I mean, he's always making comments in the press. He's a little punk! Kobe has problems following and passing the ball. The Lakers didn't have a chance because he realized too late (and still did it inconsistently) that he needed to pass the ball. But, then again, he's the only one who consistently makes shots. So, here I feel his pain a little bit. The Lakers have to pray that George, Fox, Fish, or *insert player here* shows up!

Gooooo Pistons! The Pistons are the true KobeStoppers (sorry Patterson).

I agree with you on the above points, re: about how the LA Team is "crumbling inside and out", esp. w/ that "previous" feud b/w Shaq and Kobe. My problem with the team now is that while we know everyone wants to end their career w/ a ring, the Lakers have too many Chiefs on thier team (Shaq, Kobe, and now Gary and Karl Malone  )...it won't end pretty (as evidenced by Phil Jackson's being cornered about it last night). Also, I don't think the Lakers are losing simply b/ of their "fumbling"--Detriot has broken down their defense. PERYID :D

The Lakers think they are the isht (and many of their fans are obnoxious--I'll bet they were planning their victory celebration after the Lakers' Game 2 win  )...that's what will cost them in the end...

And I'm not hatin'...just being honest :)

ETA: Steeltrap, no you're not included in the "obnoxious Lakers Fans (i.e. many of whom are old Bulls fans from the MJ Era) category".

Cavs Fan here.

I'm just enjoying every minute of it. can't wait for the finale tomorrow night. :D

Will Phil retire? Or will he get "tha boot". I loves me some Phil Jackson. ( I think he has some of "us" in him :o)

Will Kobe leave? Who will have him? or will he be in jail? Dennis Rodman predicted that he will not get a conviction and will pay damages from a civil suit.

Will Gary and Karl retire? If the Pistons win; it must be meant for these to to NOT have championship rings...THEREFORE, SYTNRHADS....B! :p

Is Phil still uhm, "working out" with Jeanne Buss, the owners daughter? :p How you gon negotiate with the dad by day then err, "negotiate" with his daughter by night? You right, AKA2D, that is some stuh we would do! But I still can't picture Phil with dukie braids?!?

Kobe? dude apparently has to learn the hard way ... go score 40+ a night but get your azz handed to you on a nightly...that is assuming he doesn't wind up in the Colorado penal system.

ok, I didn't/couldn't go to Spelman like abaici :p so what is SYTNRHADS...B!?
