In PA, you have 2 years to get 24 more credits. A Masters is 30 credits. So, for 2 more classes & a dissertation, you can earn a minimum of $1k more a year!

I camethisclose to going for my Masters in Education, but got married instead. Boy, was that a BIG mistake!! ;)

adpialumcsuc 06-03-2004 05:03 PM

I have a B.S. in Biological Conservation and a certificate in Natural Resource Management.
Right now I'm work as a Student Assistant with the Dept of Pesticide Regulation working with the Endangered Species Act. It will give me good experience for my degree. Still looking for a permanent full time job. Hope to be a biologist for the state or federal government. :)

adpi*violet 06-04-2004 08:15 AM

BS in Nursing.
With a minor in music (that absolutely has nothing to do with my job!)
I'm looking at graduate schools for when we move back to the U.S. I don't know if I want to get a Masters in Nursing or in something else though. I guess I have to decide what I really and truly want to "be" when I "grow-up". Other than a mommy of course (when that time comes).

TN-TX ADPi 06-04-2004 10:37 AM

BS in Animal Science from the University of Tennessee at Martin.

Working on my Master's in Beef Cattle Nutrition at Texas A&M University and will be finished December 2005, then I will continue my PhD at A&M.

BTW-- ya'll have some awesome majors! We are such intelligent gals! I am extremely proud of the number of ya'll with Master's degrees.

Adelphean1851 06-10-2004 04:07 AM

December 2005 I will officially have my BSEd in History/ Social Studies Secondary Education degree. I walk May 13 and then student teach. I am hoping I pass my Arizona certification test the first time so I can work. My next degree will probably be my RN and then probably into the Navy as a nurse or a cryptographer.

BS Junior High Education

Just last Monday started my Master's program - Elementary/Middle School Mathematics. The clock is now ticking to see just how long it will take.

kateshort 06-25-2004 10:43 PM

I'm a perpetual student:

Bachelor of Arts, English, Valparaiso University (IN), 1991-1995

Master of Arts, Teaching (English), University of Chicago (IL), 1995-1997

(extra coursework from College of DuPage (IL) in Theater/Drama to round out my teaching certificate, 1999-2000)

Master of Library and Information Science, Dominican University (IL), 2001-2003

I never actually taught English, but did a lot of subbing before hitting my epiphany job of being a librarian for one year before I'd taken courses or ever worked at a library. Liked it so much that I went back to school and landed my current job the next year. I'm a middle school librarian and loving it!

Your grandmother is a very wise woman! I often quote Bob Dylan's "He who is not busy being born is busy dying." Which is basically the same thing!

FirstAndFinest 06-28-2004 09:05 PM

Similar to my favorite line, from Shawshank Redemption : "Better get busy living or get busy dying."

USFAlum 06-29-2004 02:24 AM

Double BA in Political Science and Communication Studies and this Fall I will be at the University of Iowa to persue my PhD in Rhetorical theory. (yeah I know I'm a huge nerd) ;)

jwright25 07-10-2004 11:36 AM

B.S. in Biology with minor in Chemistry from East Tennessee State University.

I put it to good use for a year in Orlando doing research for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Now I run a book publishing company! Isn't it funny how some of us are in completely different fields from our majors! (But I always win at Jeopardy when Biology or Chemistry comes up!) :D
