Favorite Harry Potter Book?

My favorite is Goblet of Fire. i don't know why.

Followed in second place by a tie between book 5 and book 3.

SSS1365 06-01-2004 09:55 PM

Book 3 for me... that's why I'm so excited about the movie coming out this weekend!

abaici 06-01-2004 09:57 PM

Harry Potter and POA by far!

erniegurl00 06-01-2004 10:04 PM

Hands down POA. I liked the 4th, but it just can't beat the 3rd. :D

AUDeltaGam 06-01-2004 10:59 PM

Prisoner of Azkaban! :D Followed by Order of the Phoenix

You read my mind, James.

I love the Tri Wizard Tournament in Goblet of Fire!

This reminds me that I need to re-read 3, so I can go see the movie this weekend!

KillarneyRose 06-01-2004 11:33 PM

Absolutely loved Goblet of Fire!

I think that the style and story improve with each book, so my rankings from favorite to least favorite are 5,4,3,2,1.

polarpi 06-02-2004 01:00 AM

I love the writing in Book 5....I flew through reading Order of the Phoenix, where Goblet of Fire and the others took me a little longer to read (not that I'm complaining!)

But based on the adaptability to the movie, I have loved Books 1&2 since they both had Oliver Wood in them (I can't remember if Book 3 and on do or not  ) and Sean Biggerstaff is yummy :D ;)

ms_gwyn 06-02-2004 01:03 AM

I would also have to say Prizoner of Azkaban with GoF a pretty close second

AOII*Azra-elle 06-02-2004 02:50 AM

Book 5 has to be my favorite....but that's why I am anxiously waiting for book 6. I heard that HP was supposed to die in book 7! That would really suck if he did!

TigerLilly 06-02-2004 03:38 AM

#3 is definitely my favorite. So excited about the movie!

Is there a thread about questioning what we think will happen in books 6 and 7? There should be...

I'm currently re-reading Book 3 to get ready for the movie, and yes... Oliver Wood is in his final year at Hogwarts, so we get to see him one more time :)

Such a shame he's not in the movie. :(

DWAlphaGam 06-02-2004 10:06 AM

My order is 3, 5, 4, 1, 2. I love the backstory that you get in the later books, with Sirius, James, Lily, Lupin, etc. :)

AchtungBaby80 06-02-2004 10:07 AM

Goblet of Fire is my favorite, although it's really tough to beat the first one...that's what got me hooked in the first place.

What's everyone's least favorite? I think mine is Order of the Phoenix...it just didn't live up to the hype, in my opinion. But hey, I'm hard to please. :p

Lady Pi Phi 06-02-2004 10:47 AM

I love all of them but I my favourite right now is The Order of the Phoenix.

But there are still books 6 and 7 to go.

He's NOT???? Who's playing goalie in the Quidditch matches?

And they better find a way to throw in all the Quidditch matches in the 3rd movie... something important happens in all 3 of them.

POA has been my favorite... but I couldn't put OoTP down. And I got really emotionally involved in it too.

I started a speculation thread for the 6th and 7th books.

Awww man, I didn't know that.

Intense1920 06-02-2004 04:55 PM

So far it's PoA. We'll see what happens when I read 4 and 5.

sageofages 06-02-2004 05:37 PM

Goblet of Fire was by far the best book. POA was second. I was dreadfully disappointed in Order of the Phoenix.

What was with Harry being "mad" all the time. I can understand being a teenager and being moody but JKR's interpretation of that mindset was just off base.

abaici 06-02-2004 08:24 PM

Wood and Lucius Malfoy are not in POA

Exactly!!!! How can they not have him (unless there's a different actor playing Wood for this film?) for his last year at Hogwarts, and his last chance to win the Quidditch cup???? (And yes, I just finished rereading Book 3 today in preparation for Friday, too!)

Rio_Kohitsuji 06-02-2004 09:29 PM
