A pet/pets you WISH you had!

There's been pet threads, but me and a friend were talking the other day about pets we wished we had, so I'm starting a thread about it. :)

Me? Oooh, I love pets. I have many cats and one very fat, cute hamster! But if I could have another pet....I think hedgehogs are ADORABLE. I have no idea why I want one, or why I'm so enchanted with them. But they're too cute!

I also want mice! 3 or 4 little female fancy mice would be soooo fun.

KillarneyRose 05-28-2004 07:59 PM

I love Miniature Schnauzers! I would LOVE to have an entire herd of them running around my property :)

Aww... so cute! I like little dogs. But I LOVE big ones!

I would like a Great Dane more than anything. But they are so expensive to feed!

aurora_borealis 05-28-2004 08:04 PM

I currently am in the market for a small dog. Haven't found the right one yet as I live out in the country, and I am working with pounds and rescue societies since I won't buy a puppy. My friends wonder about me because I want to dress it up in sweaters in the winter.

My dream though, is to have a horse. I rode often growing up, and I worked with the horses at summer camp. I'd like to not have to stable a horse out, but have my own stable on my property.

My friend has llamas from her 4-H FFA days. She rescued them and they are a lot of fun. Her family takes them as pack animals on some trips. And they make yarn from their fur as well.

I would love to have a purse dog.

You know the ultra-riche women with purse dogs in their Louis, a 10-carat diamond bracelet to match the dog's collar, and a nice sterling flask filled with gin....

:)

In my experience (I work with mice all day every day), males are generally nicer... but females can be fun too :) My favorite are brown mice because they are so sweet!

I used to want a mouse, but when you see them every day, you quickly get over that :) I have a cat, a dog, a rat, a turtle, and a betta. I want a wallaby, but I'm sure that's not legal ;) And giraffes, if you could genetically engineer them to be small, would be the coolest pets!

I want to be one of those women too!! Without the bling. I wish I had a Maltese or a Tea Cup Poodle to dress. I can't wait to put booties on my dog and watch it walk funny. Some call it torture, I just think it's to die for!!!! :p ;)

Really? Weird! My main reason for wanting a female is that female rodents usually don't smell as bad as the males do.

Glitter650 05-28-2004 11:38 PM

I want a Beagle :D Sadly I can have no pets where I live...

twhrider13 05-28-2004 11:45 PM

I would love to have a cat. I've never had one before, but I don't live anywhere that I could keep one. I'm also super-allergic, and even though I do take shots for it, just petting a cat for a few minutes will give me all kinds of reactions, like sneezing fits and my eyes swelling almost shut. It really sucks. :(

The1calledTKE 05-28-2004 11:55 PM

I would like either

bulldogs
http://www.pets4you.com/pages/images/reynoldscobb1.jpg

Scotties

http://users.techline.com/crummett/images/ScottyP5.jpg

or sharpeis

http://www.dogpages.net/dusoleilevan...s/DSC00049.jpg

A Random DphiE 05-29-2004 12:01 AM

i would DIE for a miniature maltese, or a scottish terrier, but i'll settle for a kitten!

CatStarESP4 05-29-2004 01:26 AM

Cats (long hair and short hair breeds please)
Any 1 of the following dog breeds: Irish Setter, Collie, Cocker Spaniel, Australian Shepherd, Samoyed, Husky or Rhodesian Ridgeback
Rabbits
Tarantula
Koi

AlphaFrog 05-29-2004 10:19 AM

A Samoyed Breed Dog...there the big white ones that you think of as a steriotypical sled dog....

A prarie dog...they're so cute and I've read that they make good pets if they're spayed/nutered

A Horse...yeah...every girl wants her pony...

Ok, I just have to add this...my dad really, REALLY wants a pygmy goat...I have no idea why

PM_Mama00 05-29-2004 10:26 AM

I've been crying to my mom for... um... about 23 years to have a puppy. I'd die for a Yorkie Terrier or any of those little fluffy dogs. Unfortunately, pets that crawl outside of a cage or tank are a no no. Imagine my jealousy when my best friend begged her parents and then got a Bichon Frise.:(

Munchkin03 05-29-2004 10:39 AM

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. When Mr Munch and I finally leave Manhattan--or do well enough to get a bigger place, we'll get one.

PhiPsiRuss 05-29-2004 12:23 PM

A couple of Cairn Terriers, and if I have the space, a Great Dane or two as well.:)

True! But I guess that's true for every species! ;)

I always hated little dogs, because I thought they were all yappers...but I fell in love with this toy chiahuaha on the website he was posted on...he looks exactly like my two rottweilers did when they were puppies, but I can fit him in my purse! He's almost 3 months old now, and I am SO happy I got him...all the way to me from Oklahoma. My fiance flew to pick him up for me, and Riggs sat on his lap on the plane all the way back to seattle. :)

swissmiss04 05-29-2004 04:51 PM

I would like either a Weimeraner or a Maine Coon cat

aggieAXO 05-30-2004 01:08 AM

I would like to have a pet opossum. I just finished raising 4 baby opossums but since they are wild animals that is where they are going-out into the woods :(. I miss them already.

I used to think opossums were cute when I was a kid, but people think I'm nuts when I tell them that.

TheEpitome1920 05-30-2004 07:06 PM

Siberian Husky

They have to be THE cutest dogs on this planet. I've had 2 dogs, both English Mastiffs and now I want a Husky.

I am in LOVE with a 9-week-old Puganese at the store where my fiance works. I want him so badly, but he's $1000 (a bit ridiculous for a non-pedigree dog, I think). But I want him, or another Puganese, so badly! I love Sharpeis, too

RioLambdaAlum 05-31-2004 01:49 AM

I want a Pug!!! I already have his name picked out....Pugsley

aephi alum 05-31-2004 08:04 PM

I want a kitty cat... unfortunately my husband is allergic :(

Rollergirl2001 06-01-2004 08:57 PM

Lapsa Alpsa (sp) The dog with the long hair.

I also want a cat, but my mama is scared of them. I would like a black cat.

ZTAngel 06-01-2004 09:00 PM

I want a Beagle. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time for a dog right now. :(

A puganese? Is that a cross between a pug and a pekinese?

DGqueen17 06-02-2004 06:16 AM

I'd like to have a bull dog named Meatball......or a chinchilla named Peepers.

decadence 06-02-2004 07:39 AM

Iguana.

swissmiss04 06-02-2004 11:18 AM

Iguanas are fun, until they pass gas

chideltjen 06-02-2004 11:48 AM

I really want a beagle... that or a boxer terrier. I'll settle for either cuz they are so cute!

I think I know exactly where he came from.

There's a puppy mill on SH 33 (I think it's on 33) I drive by it when I go to my dentist in Cushing, OK. It's kind of in the Northeastern part of the state.

you could have the Prarie Dog that now has it's home in my parents front yard!! :)

I have a beta, and a dog that is terrier, spaniel, heeler mix...oh so cute! She looks like a mini yellow lab. I would love to have a boxer, or a lab. I love my spoiled little pooch, but I love big dogs. I used to have a dalmation/golden retriever. He was black with just a tad white...wouldn't mind having one of those either.

KellyB369 06-07-2004 04:55 PM

I would love to have a beagle or two pugs - one named Eloise and one named Skipperdee. (If you've read the book Eloise you'll know what I'm talking about.)
I've also always wanted a Chinchilla, but I can't even remember why I started wanting one so long ago. I guess they are kind of ugly...

No, they are the cutest things ever!!!!! :) One of my sisters has one, and they are the BEST PETS. They are soooo so soft, and cute, they grow attached to you, and it's way fun to watch them roll around in their dust baths. :)

sairose 06-07-2004 06:20 PM

I also wish I had many, many more hamsters! For those of you who say they're ugly...how can you not think my Penelope is cute?:

ms_gwyn 06-19-2004 03:36 AM

let see what type of dog I DONT want...

They can be small but they MUST have some gurth (sp?) to them....so

Small Dogs

Pembroke Welsh Corgi (herding group)
http://www.houstonpembrokes.org/images/Pups.jpg

(English) Bulldog (non-sporting)
http://dogsindia.com/images/Bulldog-Lily.jpeg

Medium Size Dogs

Irish Setter (sporting group)
http://www.dogtimes.com.br/imagens/dylan-Corrimeala.jpg

Big Dogs

German Shepherd Dog (herding group)
http://www.german-shepherd.com/images/9_week_puppy.jpg

Irish Wolfhound (hound group)
http://irish-wolfhound-club.ch/Livin...n/image014.jpg

As you can see I really like dogs, for my temperament and the dogs temperament and experience, I would have to say that German Shepherds, Corgi's (Pembroke) and Bulldogs would be the best fit for me.

If I had the big property in the "country" setting the Irish Wolfhound and Setter are the "dream" dogs, in addition to the others. I would have to have other dogs with the German Shepherds because of the separation anxiety is just to great to be alone.

I also want a Ferret but they are illegal in California, sigh
