Second Time Around-UPN
http://wwwimage.upn.com/shows/fall_p...d/main_pic.jpg
SECOND TIME AROUND stars real-life couple Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Parker as Jackson Muse, a handsome, earnest architect, and Ryan Muse, a beautiful, free-spirited artist, who are enjoying a more romantic, fun-filled second marriage to each other. Several adventurous years after their young first marriage ended, the lovers unexpectedly reunited and couldn't resist giving it another heartfelt go. Now, even with old stuff, new stuff and the stuff in between, the Muses are striving for wedded bliss a second time around. Determined to bring a newfound maturity to matrimony, Jackson and Ryan frequently find themselves in funny, awkward situations when old lovers, old arguments and old division of property issues surface. Even after another smooth, successful engagement and wedding, all of the couple's family and friends continue to dispense varied opinions and marriage advice. Jackson's younger brother Nigel (Brian White), a dentist whose practice scarcely covers his lavish lifestyle, and his snobbish fiancée Paula (Danielle Nicolet) are convinced that the twice-baked pair need to join their couples' therapy group. Ryan's gorgeous, spirited best friend Coco (Melissa De Sousa), certain that "leftovers shouldn't be reheated," believes the marriage is a mistake. With a sense of humor and romance, Jackson and Ryan Muse are ready to clip around the thorny past and surrounding skeptics if it finally means a rosy future together. |
Nicole's hair . . . .haaaaaaaaaaaaated it.

I don't have showtime, so I look forward to getting to see Boris Kodjoe every week. :D :D :D
|
Uhhhhhhh....I have a better show idea to pitch to UPN. It's called "Wowsa!" starring Boris Kodjoe. The main premise of the show will be every epside has Boris shirtless with tiny droplets of sweating beading on his bald head and chest and will feature him just staring into the television camera. This show will have ABSOLUTELY NO DIALOGUE....just staring.  :D
Yep....don't nobody try to steal my idea or get a roundhouse kick to the throat. :p |
What does Nicole Ari Parker's hair look like? She needs a new stylist because her wigs are usually a mess. I like Melissa De Sousa. I hope the show lasts.

Even though I don't think that I would feel comfortable about him staring, I think that he should do every episode topless and wearing only Speedos. I'd NEVER miss an episode. :o :D |

I figured you would windmill us. :p :p |

And that Melissa De Sousa. Yes Yes. It will be interesting to watch this Black show where everyone is lighter than Boris Kodjoe. I never thought I'd see that. |

Now I recognize Nicole, Melisa, and Boris...who are those other two people? |
ttt
Thank Goodness for the new shows! :D |
Ohhhh, AKA2D--the guy playing Boris' brother, isn't that Mr. "EA Sports" from "Mr. 3000" ??? I am TELLING you that brotha is wearing MAC NC41. :p :D

Did anyone else know that Nicole is pregnant? Or am I just late in finding that out?

I can definitely watch this show again. Boris and Nicole, nice to see them in comedic roles.

And to add to it, that show stunk........I don't know, maybe I should give it a chance but I didn't like it at all. I'll be back to watching TV Land after Girlfriends.......:o |
I missed this 2. First Girlfriends now this. Why doesn't someone tell me everything that premiered tonight so I can be mad that I missed that 2. What other shows come on this week? so I don't miss anymore
|
I thought the show was booty, it's definitely no Soul Food. All I kept saying last night was I miss Soul Food. Just like previous shows in the past that started off booty for me, I will watch this one as well and hopefully it will get better.
|
LOL.
Let's remember, it's a COMEDY. Soul Food was more of a Drama. I guess this is why they wanted to do this so they won't be "type cast" as only "serious actors". I must say that I "wandered" from the show a bit. I'll probably watch since there isn't anything else on Monday nights (in that time slot) that's worth viewing. |
Yeah I feel ya AKA2D on this is a comedy and not a drama like Soul Food was....but thier comedic timing seemed forced to me..but like you Monday is a U P eople N ight for me.
The dude that was playing his brother, and his girlfriend really sucked. One more thing....all that hair that Nicole is sporting....what is up with that, but like I said I will watch the show, hey if I watched that damn My Wife and Kids when it came out, and I really didn't like that show, I can give this show a chance as well. |
I watched 2nd Time Around last night and I didn't like it. I want to shoot Nicole's stylist. In one outfit she looked like a peacock gone awry. I don't like Boris' brother's fiance. Why does she have to be so materialistic and shallow?? Or is this show just another attempt to show the diversity of Black women??
And am I the last person to know that Kelsey Grammer produces Girlfriends? |
I didn't think Second Time Around was all that bad. It wasn't all that great either, but it could keep my attention for 30 minutes on a Monday night.
I didn't like the outfits chosen for Nicole. The materialistic chic was overdoing it a little for me. I like Melisa as the best friend. I hope the plot gets better over time and we see some good episodes. On the TJ in the Morning Show, Nicole said she is due in March...so that would mean she announced it when she was like 2 months along? Maybe that was a mistake. |

It kept my attention and I did not feel like stabbing myself. The materialistic chick needs to get kicked to the curb BIG TIME. I guess I was just so enthralled every time Boris smiled :D that I did not find the show to be horrible. Funny how at first I was really feeling My Wife and Kids but have not watched it since the 2nd season. Oh and Melissa DeSousa and Omar the artist are nice additions to the cast. |
Is is me, or did Nicole's voice go up in pitch? I found the sound of her voice really irritating. I don't remember her being so high-pitched in Soul Food.
I think that her character is supposed to be really eccentric and zen- thus the weird outfits and hair. I tuned in during the middle of the episode, so I will give it another try next week. |
i just watched "second time around" (DVR is a beautiful thang) and i wasn't too impressed.
it's hard for me to accept her in this eccentric, bohemian role when she's always so serious. and i guess that's why she's doing this show-to show her versatility-but it just wasn't believable. neither is her comedic attempt. but, and i'm not being biased because he looks damn good, boris did a good job at comedy. and whoever said it is soooo right. the brother's makeup was just TOO thick. he had major little richard syndrome! and his fiance was quite annoying. although i didn't really like the first episode, i'll watch if watching means seeing boris dressed in really nice suits all of the time. mmm mmm mmmm...it is something extremely sexy about a handsome brother in a nice suit. * lusting * |

It appears she and Ms. Crack is Whack have been rubbing elbows. |

"Makeup" aside...after seeing him in that towel in "Mr 3000", the boy has an EXCELLENT "resume' ";) :D |
He does have a nice resume. HOWEVER, he needs to lay off the MAKE-UP!
