Don't feel bad if your school isn't on the list -- mine wasn't for a long time.

One more thing, it only allows SCHOOL email addresses to register -- this is how they verify that you actually attend the school you say you do. For alumni, if you have "email for life" -- or, your school automatically forwards your school email to your personal account, that is allowed.

They add new schools every two weeks now, and they seem to be adding a lot lately, so if your school is decent-sized it'll probably be up sooner or later.

Its an interesting site, but not for alumni because you need a yourschool.edu e-mail address.

also partyincollege.com is a website a couple of my guy friends started up while in college. they started with NC State (which now boasts about 12,000 users for a school of 27,000) and they've expanded to many other schools all over the country. :)

Another site that I would guess is pretty similar to that one is collegefacebook.com. It looks like it has close to 100 schools on it, and is the same deal, must have a .edu email addy. I love it, I've found friends from Highschool that I haven't talked to in years on there, its a great way to get back in touch with people! Plus its pretty secure, you can make it so your "profile" is only visible to people from your school, or have nothing on it, or available to everyone.

They just added Hawai`i two weeks ago and my hawaii.edu email address still works!

Man I wish we had stalkerrific sites like these when I was in college!

Elon just got facebook.com. We're all going crazy over it right now. They even put it on our news page :p

It used to be cool because it was only the good schools. Now every bad school is listed on there and Devry is probably in the works.

This has seriously become the new obsession for everyone at my school it seems like.

I swear to you, I was out at the bar on Thursday night and I saw this girl run up to a guy standing right behind me to give him a hug. They hug and then she was like "facebook buddy! how are you?" I thought it was funny, but I was also wasted. I really hope she already knew him IRL and not just through facebook b/c that would be...weird.

Also as H so eloquently put it...there are a LOT of people at my school and they all look better on the internet than in real life. (Myself included ;) )

So I log on the other day, and all of a sudden the not-BF is also on FaceBook, which is kinda weird because he's usually private like that and never goes online.

Then I find out that he never signed up for a FaceBook, and that FB admin must have set one up for him. Weeeeeeeird. They used his football profile pic from the media guide for his FB profile.

I'd be a lil freaked out if somone did that.

At first he was. But not as much as the time when someone started a MySpace page pretending to be him.

I told him he should just go along with it. There's not much on his profile page, but there's really no harm in it.

EEK - but I guess if they (facebook, not the myspace freak) were questioned, they could say that he's considered a public figure.

Our school just got added to facebook. i'm excited. there's one problem though. i registered 2 days ago and i still have not gotten an e mail to comfirm my account. is something wrong or am i just being impatient?

I just registered, too. I haven't received a confirmation e-mail, either.

I am addicted to this. I registered in April, but didn't do anything until yesterday. Now I am hooked.

IT FINALLY CAME! The confirmation email finally got to me. I am now on facebook and I am so loving it! :D

Its ridiculous how many people are on there. My high school graduating class alone has 102 people on facebook!!

i finally got on thefacebook banwagon. i havent added or anything yet. look for me.

We are facebook-less. I think it may be b/c we are so small.
We are on collegefacebook, though. I don't think it is the same.

So, apparently my undergraduate school has jumped on the facebook bandwagon. I've been talking w/ a friendly GCer who advised me that even though I am an alumna, it was possible for me to AI into facebook using my school email addy. My school doesn't let us keep our email addys beyond graduation. :(
