New Chapter
The dates for our colonizing recruitment have been set for North Carolina Delta at NC State. Registration will begin Oct 1 with the colonizing rush to be held Oct 14-17. Women of ALL classes will be considered (this is a great opportunity for juniors and seniors!) A chairman has been named for AAC and I would imagine that an announcement will be made where to send RIFs later this summer.

NC Delta
What great news! I'm right here in Raleigh so I look forward to helping out!
Awesome! I'm hoping a few of my friends from high school will go through even though they're juniors. I've been trying to convince them!! So many kids from my high school go to State... :)
I know from past experience with colonies that it is good to have a range of ages. You want some juniors and even seniors to provide leadership immediately AND so you don't have that huge shock when your charter class graduates! I hope some of your friends are pledged... it is good for a new colony to have "connections" with a variety of chapters.

I love to hear about new Pi Phi chapters. NC State is a great campus and I am sure we will thrive there.
I'm so glad to know that Pi Phi is expanding once again! I hope all goes well there and that we get some wonderful women! :D
hello ladies, i'm a delta gamma at nc state where the new pi phi chapter will be colonized. i went to the presentation that your nationals made and it was very well put together. i was very impressed. we listened to two other sororities (i only saw ya'll and one more) but pi phi was by far the best. i'm so happy ya'll will be coming to NCSU because we need more sororities. we were colonized just about two years ago, so we understand the whole newness situation. we went through formal recruitment for the first time this past fall and it was a very new situation for myself. i graduated this year, so i won't get to see pi phi colonize, but i will definitley visit. i'm sure ya'll will be very successful at state because of all of the support from alumni and your nationals. congratulations and good luck!

thats awesome, ever chapter counts! :) im so glad to say im a part of such a large and amazing sisterhood!
Does anyone know why the new colony will rush almost a month after the rest of the GLO's? apparently, this is standard procedure but I'm wondering why they do it this way?
probably because in formal recruitment you wouldn't have any girls to be rushing, so it would be kind of weird. i know that 2 years ago when delta gamma was colonizing, they had a longer drawn out more informed process. that way, the girls knew what they were getting into. plus they had members of exec come down and do personal interviews with each girl that wanted to rush. it's probably because they might want some older girls who would be willing to take leadership responsibilities rather than having mostly freshmen and sophomores. that's just my guess. also, there's not as much pressure if you don't have to worry about the deadlines of formal recruitment. just a thought. good luck! i love my wolfpack!

Beth- I'm sure you're right, just seemed a bit odd to me but I know that is how DG did it a few years ago. Anyway, thanks and I agree about your Wolfpack! My husband works at NCSU.

Update on the new chapter, the RGC has arrived in Raleigh and the newly formed AAC will meet for the first time on Friday with our new CPP to get more info on the rush plans etc. The local alum club is really excited about helping out!
That is great! Colonizations are so exciting!
Hey- if you're in the Raleigh club, is Sue Campana a member? She was my CPP when I was a chapter officer... |
NC Delta
We made the student newspaper today! they ran the first ad for colonizing recruitment today. Rush starts Oct 14th :)
NC Delta has a website too. I don't know the URL but it is probably linked to the international website.
Yep, you can find the link on the national website.

I am on the webpage with my Pi Phi family (minus the youngest generation)! On the bottom right picture, I am third from left. From left to right you can see my big sister, my little sister, me, my other little sister, and my aunt! |
Keep your fingers crossed ladies, tomorrow is the start of rush for NC Delta!!
How did it go tonight...I'm dying to know!! :)
They did great! we had over 100 PNM and the women of both NC Beta and NC Alpha did an awesome job!
Yay! Keep an old NCSU alumn updated, okay? I'm so excited about your recruitment and for NCSU for getting a chapter of such an awesome sorority! Yay!
I'll keep you updated! Prefs is tomorrow night and bid day is Sunday. We 'old' folks enjoy this sort of thing you know?
Prefs went great, think it was just over 80 women who came through. I'm told interviews went really well yesterday too. The girls pick up their bids at 8:00 tomorrow and pledging is at 10:30.
Fantastic! How many new Angels did Pi Phi end up with today?!
By the way, check out the buddy icon that some of the DG's at NCSU have: http://www.ncsudeltagamma.org/dg/Ima.../pibetaphi.gif |
NC Delta has 72 new angels!
p.s. cute icon whitedaisy! we are so happy to be at NCSU! |
FANTASTIC!!! That's so exciting! DG colonized with right around that number too! It's perfect because it's not tooooo big and it let's the chapter get to practice recruitment with a lil' COB! We were very thankful for not being thrown together with 100 right from the start! I can't wait to start seeing some pictures of the new Pi Phi's!!
yep, I think the number is perfect and they are a beautiful, smart and accomplished group that we know will be a great addition to the greek community! It also includes 3 legacies!
YEAH !!! I am sooo fired up for NC Delta! Tell us about the NMs as soon as you can!
NC Delta has added 5 more angels and 3 more interviews tomorrow! The group now includes 4 legacies, 2 soccer players, 1 swimmer, 1 cheerleader, 1 track and field runner, a woman from the Netherlands, a Latin American, a girl in a rock band, a newspaper reporter, and a senior school senator. They are from all over the country! There are even a few seniors. What a great group!!
Is anyone from Greekchat going to the chapter installation in January?? I'm seriously considering going; right now I'm looking at my schedule to see if there are any conflicts.
I'll be there (or here rather) and everything planned sounds like lots of fun!
Sorry to crash, but I'm dying to know how the new chapter is doing. Since I'm all graduated and everything, I don't hear much about what's going on in the Greek circle? Any news? Houses in the works (I was guessing the old Sigma Alpha Mu house on the court)? Any informal recruitment? Mixers? Socials? I know they have to be doing just awesome, but I'd just like to know! :-)
Well, I must admit I'm a bit out of the loop myself in the past few weeks but last I heard things were going great. They are planning on moving into Delta Zeta's half of the duplex next fall (not sure where DZ is going). I think they've already had a few events, I know the pledge retreat was recently also. They are getting ready to slate officers too. I'm helping with the pledge test next week so I'll know more about them then!
NC Delta!
I am a freshman at NCSU and will be initiated into the NC Delta chapter in January.
Pi Phi is doing AWESOME at NC State. I am so excited to be apart of this wonderful chapter. I know that my fellow members and I can't wait for initiation. So far, we have slated officers, had our new member retreat and semi formal...amongst many other things! I am so proud to be apart of an organization that consists of many diverse and unique individuals and I look forward to my life as a Pi Phi! |
Welcome to greek chat! I bet I met you last week at pledge interviews ;)
yay!!!! welcome to GC and Pi Phi!!! :D
