'Law and Order' Appreciation thread

I LOVE LAW AND ORDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it is just the greatest series ever..

The 'Law and Order' tree

1) "Law and Order"
2) "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit"
3) "Law and Order: Criminal Intent"
4) "Law and Order: Crime and Punishment"

and drumroll please.....

There is a new Law and Order series on the horizon......

"Law and Order: Trial By Jury" ....this one will focus on the jury's part in the courtroom

yay!!!!!

i hope "Law and Order: Crime and Punishment" comes back. did anyone else see this? it was a summer series that showed real life trials. i thought it was so fascinating.

"Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" is defintely the best one.

dick wolf is a genius!!

p.s. i cannot believe that lenny briscoe is leaving "Law and Order" tomorrow. no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:(

i still love my Law and Order shows :)

NOTE: this is an appreciation thread. no negative stuff can be said here!! please

33girl 05-18-2004 04:15 PM

Can I say I hate Elisabeth Rohm? Pleeeeease?

;)

Other than that I'm a fanatic. I miss the old days w/ Logan, Robinette & Ben Stone.

Peaches-n-Cream 05-18-2004 04:18 PM

My mother is in an early episode of the original Law & Order. They were filming in the courthouse, and she was walking in the background. She used to see Chris Noth all the time.

DZHBrown 05-18-2004 04:21 PM

I loooove Law and Order! All of them. It will be sad to see Jerry Orbach (Det. Briscoe) leave tomorrow. :( But at least he'll return on Trial by Jury. I hope he's as much of a smart ass as he is on the series now. I love that USA and TNT have reruns on. If nothing else is on TV, at least I can rely on my L&O reruns. ;)

I also liked Crime and Punishment. Very interesting.

My favorite is SVU,

I saw Jerry Orbach on Broadway in 1967 or 68, the season he won the Tony for Best Actor in a Musical for Promises, Promises. He does play that acerbic wit well, doesn't he?

WCUgirl 05-18-2004 04:41 PM

Hi, my name is Donna, and I'm addicted to Law & Order.

It all started when our teacher would show us excerpts of the show in my Business Law class senior year in high school. Ever since then I just can't get enough of it. I love the spin-offs, and I would willingly bear Jerry Orbach's lovechild. :D

Chris Noth -- The show was/is GREAT with or without him... But, OMG, he's hot and enough reason to give thanks for Law and Order... And, I'll even admit that Sam Waterston (sp?), aka Jack McCoy, is hot for an older man.

I much prefer the original. But, I do watch SVU as well. Criminal Intent sucks as far as I am concerned. It just doesn't do it for me.

i completely agree with you. criminal intent does suck. it is boring. i am honestly surprised it is still on. but i guess with a 'law and order' name, it is hard to go.

and i do also believe that sam waterston is an older man hottie :)

the hottest 'law and order' man is without a doubt.......christopher meloni. holy cow that man is fine. yesterday i saw one of the early episodes of SVU, and he was in nothing but his underwear!! very strange for 'law and order', but i didnt care!!!!

GPhiLlama 05-18-2004 07:08 PM

I prefer the original L&O over the spinoffs.

Oooh, it's on in ten minutes!

The1calledTKE 05-18-2004 07:45 PM

Law and order is good stuff.

PhiPsiRuss 05-18-2004 07:55 PM

I used to watch it a lot. I've seen a few episodes recently, and its still a really well done series. Even with the cast changes, the feel of the show, as well as the quality hasn't diminished.

Does anyone remember the show Homocide: Life on the Streets that was set in Baltimore? They did a few epsiodes with the Law & Order and Homocide characters interwoven, and the Munch character is originally from Homocide.

Homocide, in my opinion, was the best TV show of the 1990s.

smiley21 05-18-2004 08:05 PM

i did like the Homicide series

Jill1228 05-18-2004 08:27 PM

I love me some Law and Order!

Ain't that the truth! He is fine! I love Christopher Meloni from SVU

Jerry Orbach gets the best one-liner on the show.

I watch all three shows and I enjoy them very much.

My toes involuntarily curled with passion when I read this!!! He certainly IS an older hottie!!!

And yes, L&O:CI is the worst of the series, and SVU is the best. I think Maristka Hartigay is seriously hot!!!

The1calledTKE 05-18-2004 08:58 PM

Does anyone remember Sam Waterston as Nick in the Great Gatsbey. He sure was young when he played Nick.

yes i have to comment on just about everything said in here. i LOVE maristka. she is so awesome. ER did her no justice.

edited to add.....'law and order:svu' 2 hour season finale in 15 min!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

33girl 05-18-2004 09:04 PM

I like Criminal Intent, but then again I think Vincent D'Onofrio is hot in it, I like weird intense men. He and that show are something you either love or hate (like blue cheese dressing).

Yes, I remember him in that movie. We wondered if we would ever hear from him again, and sure enough, we did. He's good!!

Seriously, someone should bring back those reruns! That's a great show. I think Richard Belzer is hilarious. My theory is that he is not acting, he's really like that.

With SVU, I can still get my Belzer fix.;)

Those were just on yesterday or today! I am a Law&Order fanatic! :)

Tippiechick 05-18-2004 11:04 PM

I would probably think that Christopher Meloni was hot if the husband hadn't been a fan of OZ. Meloni still gives me the creeps from his performance on that show! He was great in OZ and SVU. But, I can only picture him in the cellblock on that show...

And, for those who don't know, Mariska (pronounced Mar-ish-ka) Hargitay is that daughter of the late Jayne Mansfield. If you're a fan you can also catch her in one of my favorite cheesy movies of all time, "The Perfect Weapon" with super-hottie, yet horribly bad acting Jeff Speakman.

DolphinChicaDDD 05-18-2004 11:06 PM

i LOVE law and order!!
i'm joining the sentiment that CI isn't as great as the others; my issue is the female cop (can't remember her name right now!!) is SUCH a ditz!!! she never figures anything out!

smiley21 05-18-2004 11:20 PM

that svu season finale was awesome but just plain creepy

Jill1228 05-19-2004 12:11 AM

I will be watching it in about an hour! I don't care if I have to work at 645am, I am staying up to watch it!

hottytoddy 05-19-2004 12:58 AM

I am obsessed with this show. I am sad Jerry Orbach is leaving too!

OK I never saw Crime & Punishment---? when was this?

And Is there going to be a new one? Another one? SVU is my favorite. I think Chris Melloni(sp?) is sexy--aka Elliot Stabler.

There is a Law & Order marathon on Memorial day on TNT. :D

DZHBrown 05-19-2004 01:41 AM

I'm jumping on the 'Chris Meloni is sexy' bandwagon. I've tried to block his Oz character out of my mind :) Did you notice how many Law and Order actors were on Oz?

I was watching an SVU re-run tonight on USA and Rev. Al Sharpton was on there! I had never seen that one. I thought it was funny that he was on there.

On Sunday, USA is having an SVU mini-marathon. They'll be showing an SVU movie? I don't remember that ever being on.

CatStarESP4 05-19-2004 01:44 AM

I love Law and Order and watch it whenever I can.

Two years ago, I was at a party with a few friends. I was leaving to go home, when I saw Chris Noth sitting at the bar. I was just a few feet away from him. I only looked and left.

FAB*SpiceySpice 05-19-2004 02:41 AM

I used to absolutely love regular Law & Order, then I started watching Law & Order SVU and now it's all I can watch. I am absolutely OBSESSED with this show, it's my favorite. I have the first season on DVD and it's the greatest thing ever, but now that I have watched all 22 hours of it I want the next season to be released!!! It won't be for a long time though which makes me :(, but at least USA gives me a good fix of SVU everyday. ;)

I think Munch is the coolest guy alive. :)

i believe that it has come on the last two summers. i highly doubt it is coming on this summer

Senusret I 05-19-2004 07:45 AM

SVU is my favorite followed by Crime and Punishment....that show was REALLY engrossing.

jess_pom 05-19-2004 09:27 AM

I don't know what I'm going to do when Jerry Orbach leaves, I don't really like anyone else on that show, especially Jesse-- all the cool people left.

MEMO
To: L&O Actors

Never leave a sure-fire cash cow to "persue other options." Unless your other options are parenthood or retirement, you will probably never be as successful as you were on L & O.

Lady Pi Phi 05-19-2004 09:55 AM

I love Law and Order!

SVU is by far my favourite though.

I had no idea Jerry Orbach was leaving. That's so sad. He was great! I was said when Chris Noth left too. I really liked Logan.

Well I will be sure to watch tonight. I hope they don't kill him off like they did with what's her name...the female ADA.

ETA: I remember in one of the earlier episodes of Law and Order Jery Orbach played a defense attorney.

Co-sign! I think Vincent is so hot, especially when he is intense. Chris Meloni is cute, too. Love reruns on USA and TNT.

butterfly2001nc 05-19-2004 11:16 AM

My favorite is SVU but they are all good!

honeychile 05-19-2004 11:41 AM

Okay, here's a question for the men: which of the female DA's do you think is the cutest/hottest?

no they wont. briscoe is just leaving. he is supposedly having a recurring role on the new law and order series 'trial by jury'

what female ADA are you talking about? the one from SVU? she went into the witness protection program

Not, it's not an ADA from SVU, she was on Law and Order: The Orginal Series.

She was killed in a car accident and Briscoe was in the car with her. She was driving him home because he fell off the wagon and was drunk. It was the season finale. The ADA and Brisoe and Benjamin Bratt (can't remember his characters name) had just witnessed an execution.

33girl 05-19-2004 12:57 PM

Claire Kincaid. She was also having an affair with Jack.
