Vegas Wedding

Hi, guys, I need some advice. I want to renew my vows this summer in Vegas. Ideas on finding a VERY inexpensive chapel that includes photography?

Calling Jill.....

Thanks,
Silver

PlymouthDZ 05-17-2004 11:41 PM

I believe its called The Elvis Chapel... Let me check with my parents. They got the ceremony, the video, the limo, a cake, flowers and certificate I wanna say it was something like $200.

I'll ask tomorrow and get back to you! :)

Jill1228 05-18-2004 01:24 AM

You rang???????? :D

My favorite is of course:
Excalibur (where we got married)
http://www.excalibur.com/images/slideshow/wed-pic1.jpg

The least expensive package was: (we got the next one up...because we didn't want to stay at the hotel) :)

Heart of the Castle $365.00 (under 20 guests)
Package Includes:
Chapel 1/2 Hour
Music
Bouquet*
Boutonniere*
Certificate Holder*
6 - 4" x 6" Photos [Different poses Bride & Groom only] *
1 - 8" x 10" Photos*
Bottle of Excalibur Champagne*

Funny our picture is still up on the TLC wedding photo website :)

More to follow

I have had friends get married at Little Church of the West (up the street from Mandalay Bay)...one of the Dixie Chicks got married there.

My friend Kari got married there and will be renewing her vows there next year

I also had a friend get married at Little Chapel of the Flowers

AOIIsilver 05-18-2004 10:16 AM

Please keep the info coming! :) I knew I count count on my GC sisters!

Do you know about the Little White Wedding Chapel or the Tropicana Island Wedding Chapel?

Jill, did you mention in a post one time that there is a Las Vegas wedding thread somewhere on the web? With pix?
Silver.....

PlymouthDZ,
Jill is everywhere! She knows everything, AND she is an AWESOME lady! :)

PlymouthDZ 05-18-2004 10:49 AM

(I'm on the phone with mom as we speak.. she's getting the info)

phone #: 1-800-452-6081

The Elvis Chapel

Elvis Special

Elvis to Sing 3 Songs
Personal Coordinator
Bouquet of Roses
12 Photos (you receive roll of film)
Video Tape of Ceremony
Personalized Certificate Holder
Complimentary Limousine

$315.00

That's the one my parents got.

Their packages range from $179-415.

This place is really nice. I thought it was going to be WICKED cheesey.. but it was nice. My mom said she "Highly Reccomends" this chapel. She told me to tell you he check it out. :)

The people were really nice, and the guy who impersonates Elvis, sings really well and is a really nice guy. :)

Jill1228 05-18-2004 01:16 PM

Oh no, NOT on a wedding story. They have a gallery of brides and grooms on the TLC website. Mine is posted under October 2002

We were featured in a destination wedding article though on another site:

http://www.getawayweddings.com/artic...ils.asp?ID=132

Also the Wedding channel board has a Vegas bride thread that is pretty good with great advice:

Silver, you are too sweet! :)

I thought it would be the coolest thing to elope to Las Vegas for our wedding, but Mr. KR nixed the idea. He's so traditional and I'm so off-the-cuff that it's amazing we've been happily married so long!

Thanks, everyone!
I narrowed down my list to three! DZPlymouth, I am so glad that you asked your mom. "A Las Vegas Wedding chapel" is on my list, and I think that it also goes by the name of "A Elvis Chapel." I am so glad to hear that it is nice and not cheesy!

So here are my three choices.....

A Las Vegas Wedding Chapel About $215 for what we want including all tips/fees/etc.....
Chapel
Candlelight Service
Music
Single Rose
24 Photo Negatives
Video of Ceremony
Limousine Service
Minister
Wedding Certificate Holder

A Hollywood Wedding Chapel About $225 for what we want including all tips/fees/etc....
Chapel
Music
Rose Bouquet (I belive this is a silk bouquet..)
Boutonniere (Again, I belive this is a silk.)
24 Photo Negatives
Video of Ceremony
Limousine Service
Minister
Bottle of Champagne

Little White Wedding Chapel on the Strip About $265 for a night gazebo wedding and what we want including all tips/fees/etc....
Chapel or Gazebo
Music
12 Pictures (I believe 4x6) taken by a Photographer and negative
Rose Presentation
Boutonniere
Minister

The Little White Wedding Chapel is actually on the strip and very pretty on the outside. The other two are "store front" chapels...so it is a toss-up. What do you think?

I'm partial to this one.. only because my parents had their service there and they were GREAT. Its off the beaten path a bit, so its a lot nicer (so I thought) We did check out a few others.

Kind of funny/mini hijack.. when I called my mom to ask her.. she FREAKED and was all "Are you running away and getting married?!?! TELL ME!" I busted a gut laughing ;)

Besides that, any one you choose, I'm sure it will be a great choice:)

How long have you been married? Do you have kids?

I was my mom's "Maid Of Honor" for her 2nd wedding. Her first wedding, her best friend, conincidentally also named Ann was her MOH. (Not coincidentally, I was named after her :p)

They are the same place :) My mom double checked because she checked it out on the web and then looked at her things, it all of her stuff had both names.

Jill1228 05-18-2004 08:24 PM

Oh I didn't know that! I used to watch the show on the Travel Channel called "2 for Las Vegas" about couples planning their weddings in Vegas. They used the Little White Chapel a lot. If we didn't have 30 guests, we probably would have used one of the stand alone chapels. Most of our guests stayed at the Luxor and we married at the Excalibur.

Oh yes, you MUST take some portraits at the Bellagio! Hire a photog for a couple of hours (or get a friend to do it). We hired a photographer and he did a good job (and was rather inexpensive)

Oh man.. we stayed at the Bellagio when we went a few years back.. you MUST take pictures on the steps and IN the botanical gardens. It is absolutely breathtaking.

I am SO sorry that your mom FREAKED, DZPlymouth! Please thank her for me! :) I talked with the guy from Elvis on the phone, and he was really nice and helpful. I am pretty sure that is it a toss-up between A Elvis Chapel and The Little White Wedding Chapel.
Each really has some NEAT things! I love the idea of the nice photos and kind people at the Elvis, but I also love the idea of a night, lighted gazebo wedding at Little White Wedding Chapel and the super nice lady with whom I spoke there.
:)

DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE ALLADIN? (I just realized that message smacks of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. :))
You all rock! thanks!

^sounds SO romantic!!!

I haven't heard anything bad about the Alladin..but I haven't heard a lot of good stuff.. kind of neutral.

Have you picked out what you're going to wear yet? Do you have an ideas?

I'm so excited FOR YOU for your renewal.. I think I should rethink my intended career as a teacher and go into Wedding Planning! ;)

Much happiness and Thankfulness, Silver

If you were wondering about the Alladin for accomidations.. check out Circus Circus.. they run a LOT of good deals. (I know Sun-Thursday or what-not its something like $50/night) They have some wicked good deal like that.

BAHAHAHAHAHHA! GO FOR IT MR. SILVER!! ELVIS JUMPSUIT..hahahahaha! :) I just cracked up over this though.. mind you.. I work in a university office where MANY people are studying for finals at this very moment [minus me, of course..] Some kid gave me a wicked funny look..
My dad wore a dark grey suit w/ a red tie and my mom wore an off-white w/ gold silk suit. Very nice. 'Tis the season for nice dresses too, for you. (With prom and such)

LOVED IT! I love the idea of getting paid to spend someone ELSE's money ;)

When is this all happenining? If its this summer, you can get some rockin deals at hotels right off the strip..even some good ones on the strip... check out older hotels..they have a tendancy to have good deals and packages. :):p

I wish I would get stories about me in the newspaper. Sometimes I'm such a media whore. I'd probably print it out for everyone and mail it to them on fine paper.

By the way has anyone ever told you that you look like the woman from the view? I don't remember what her name is but anyway, you could do one of those Jenny Jones things where you look like a famous celebrity and make some money off that for fun.

I was a bridesmaid in my friend's Las Vegas wedding in 2003. She had a morning ceremony at the Bellagio, followed by a luncheon. It was a small crowd of about 40 guests. Most of the people flew in for the week and partied in Vegas, seeing shows, exploring, etc. The bride and groom even had a co-bachelor/ette party.

hey ladies - seeing as i live in vegas and frequent las vegas blvd often .. you probably dont want to stay at the aladdin ... its actually closing soon, being bought out and what not - if you want a really nice place but a bit expensive just to STAY - id say THE HOTEL @ mandalay bay ... gorgeous - its all black and white and like classy looking - so nice.
as far as weddings - sorry ladies, i havent gotten THAT far yet ;) ... but the ones inside of the hotels are beautiful. if you like the whole elvis thing - the little white wedding chapel (where britney got married! lol) is so cute. its down the road a little ways in downtown las vegas - but its so cute :)
good luck finding the one you want to renew your vows at! anyone of them would be fun :)

edited because i think faster than i type and forget some random words

I think I want to get married in Vegas in July for the CHIPPENDALES bachorlette party!!

Jill1228 01-26-2005 05:12 AM

Girl, you and I gotta have a GC hookup the next time I go to Vegas. I stayed at the Aladdin in Aug 2003 and had a kick ass room, overlooking the fountains at the Bellagio. It is a damn shame that the hotel went downhill :(

I think the biggest problem with the Aladdin was the architect. They designed the hotel in such a way that the pool is always in the shade  Anyway, it is closing and will re-open as the Hooters Hotel and Casino - no I'm not kidding.

I know someone who got married at Treasure Island and had a luncheon at Postrio in the Venetian. I have heard it was beautiful.

I just got back from Vegas this weekend. We had a great time and stayed at Mandalay Bay, but they did not really impress me. The Hotel there may have. I also wouldn't turn down the 4 Seasons (also at Mandalay Bay).

DEFINITLY! let me know whenever you are in the mood to come down here - one of my friends' friend was getting married so he had his bachelor party out here and they all got a room at the new mandalay bay hotel - CRAZY. absolutley gorgeous! Yeah - it is too bad about the Aladdin - its a very nice place, inside and and out, and its sad thats its going down the way it is :(
But let me know when and if you come here, we'll do the whole GC hook up thing, sounds good to me!
