ThetaPrincess24 05-12-2004 06:44 PM

I had one but the neighbors after a party stole my flag...............in addition to a long container of flowers and a potted aloe plant.......but i mean what kind of dispicable person does one have to be to steal an american flag? :(

DeltAlum 05-12-2004 06:46 PM

GeekyPenguin 05-12-2004 07:20 PM

My parents have had a flag flying at our house since they built it, same at our summer house.

rainbowbrightCS 05-12-2004 11:13 PM

Yes, and we had yellow ribbons all over our house and yard for my brother....

I dont care if I agree with the war or not. I support the troops, they are putting there life on the line for us (maybe not directly).

After trying for weeks to get my lame drill to drill into my brick house to put the flag pole stand in, I gave up and got a garden American flag. I'm still hoping to get the big one up this spring though. I also have a red, white and blue ribbon tied to my shepherd's hook.

My mom had a flag magnet on her car and it got stolen. I don't know who would want to steal such a thing.

I don't have anywhere to fly a flag so I have a flag magnet on my car and I want to get one of those yellow ribbon ones for the troops.

adpialumcsuc 05-13-2004 12:04 PM

Yes we sure do. There are a couple of months in the winter that we couldn't have it up because we would leave the house in the dark and return in the dark and we don't have a light on the flag. Other than that we fly it every day.

ThetaGrrl 05-13-2004 12:08 PM

YES! Everyday!

ajuhdg 05-14-2004 01:01 PM

This thread made me smile!

We dont' have a flag, but just about everyone has banners and ribbons hanging on their windows and cars. Of course, I'm in a military community!

We have a flag flying from our lanai, a huge yellow ribbon tied around a cement pillar in our garage, and yellow ribbon magnets are on every car.

Multiple American Flags around the house and on our cars....

Yea.

It is so nice to turn the corner and see The Stars and Stripes flying from the pole when I turn the corner on my street!

My Adopted Nephew is now in Kuwait. Came from Oakinawa as an Airman, flew to LA, then To DWF, Then To Norfolk, Then To Newfoundland, then To Shannon, then to Bulgaria. Now in Kuwait. Bookems Boy and mine so to speak!

Airforce, attatched to the 1 St Air Cav. Special kind of Kid!

Flag still at the Store. Need to get Yellow Ribbons To put on the Tree in front of the Duplex. His Sister who rents from me has a Star Flag in the window, Damn I want to put one up so bad! But not a True Relitive!

God Bless our Troops!:)

KillarneyRose 05-15-2004 02:42 AM

We have a yardarm (basically a flagpole shaped like a cross with flads on the top three points) at the foot of our dock that flies the American flag in the center, the POW/MIA flag one one side and the Department of the Navy flag on the other side.

We're really flag people, I suppose!

Munchkin03 05-15-2004 08:27 AM

The Grandparents Munchkin fly the American flag.

Keep in mind, there are other ways to support the troops, too! :)

At my family home here in San Diego, we fly the flag on major holidays such as Independence Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Veteran's Day and so on. About 5 of the people on my street have them up daily.

When I moved to England, I took my US flag with me. :D On September 11th, I flew the flag from the window of my flat with a sign that read "Thank you UK, our friends".

I also flew the flag on Independence Day. hehehe...when Neil came home from work on the 4th of July, he pulled up to the curb to see the Stars and Stripes floating aloft. When he came through the door he said to me, "Oh great, now the whole neighbourhood is going to know that I live with a Yankee."

Oddly enough, when I moved back to the States, I returned with my US flag and the flag of Poland. I did not bring home a Union Jack.....go figger.

Yes! I have an American Flag hanging outside of my house. I also have a service flag decal on my car in honor of my boyfriend who is currently serving in Afghanistan.

Colonist 05-16-2004 06:42 PM

Hell yeah!

mmcat 05-17-2004 07:49 AM

yup

Peaches-n-Cream 05-17-2004 12:41 PM

No. I live in an apartment so I don't have a flagpole. We have a flagpole outside of my building where they have flown a flag everyday.

I have noticed that many people have tied yellow ribbons around trees.
