Bush and his "Vacation"
 

I usually don't post, but this made me so mad http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/mad.gif that I had to say something! I was on the internet today and this article about the President came up. After about 7 months of being in office, President Bush is taking a VACATION! And guess what? It is going to be a MONTH vacation!! It is reported that is the longest vacation in presidential history. My question is do you think he deserves it? I don't think he does!!

I saw on CNN today that his vacation and/or rest days have equaled 25% of his entire term so far as president. So one out of every 4 days we don't have a "present president".

I wonder how that 49% of the country that voted for him feal now, maybe one of them can fill in....

When he was addressing the nation, didn't all he had to do was READ off the cue cards? or did he MEMORIZE the speach written FOR him all by himself and that's why he stumbled over so many

Everyone deserves a vacation. A little R&R is always good. Aside from his politics, he's still a human being, geesh!

A LITTLE R&R. But, come on, basically taking every fourth day off when you are the leader (and I use the term loosely) of the most powerful country on the planet is excessive as far as I am concerned. And hisbeing the longest in presidential istory means precedent is not exactly on his side.

Every passing day I hear more and more people who voted for him kicking themselves now that they see the lemon they bought.

Putting personal political ideologies (and bipartisanism) aside...BUSH puts the I-D-I-O-and the T in IDIOT. Maybe when he comes off of his vacation...the government will have overthrown him. I think that we all know that everyone needs a vacation. Presidents, truly, don't really have the luxury of divorcing themselves from the country's agenda, even while on vacation. So, that's something to consider. Not only that, but I think that we all understand that he's not the genuine leader, but a delegator. Now, if those folk went on vacation at the same time as he, then we'd have cause for some unadulterated concern. Just something to ponder.

If it seems that the vacation is a little long, then speak with your representative about putting together a more firm job description.

That is part of the problem- the fact that his vacation should be the thing to distinguish him form other President's is outlandish. And as the President of the United States of America he should do more than merely delegate.. The belief that he is merely delegates is part of how we had the displeasure of ending up with him in office in the first place.

I am a big fan of vacations- BIG FAN- and believe that every job in the world should include one, but that does not negate the fact that for the President to take that extended a vacation is causing concern amongst those he leads shows it is a problem. The last thing Dubya should want to do is undermine the little confidence the country has in him. .

BTW- He would be the one to require a "more firm" job description. It is always the one that just doesn’t get it that cause the need for clarification of something that made perfect sense to everyone else.

And trust that while my representatives do hear form me (I am a politically active sista) I know there are way more pressing issues on the agenda- like preparing for the economic havoc the tax bill is going to create. (the one thing he did get done! DAMN!)

Yeah, come on. Bush is doing a great job and he deserves a little breather. How would you like it if you were in the whitehouse and had to deal with a bunch of whiny democrats all the time, pushing all of their liberal policies?

I would not go so far as to say that Bush is doing a great job in office. He honestly has not done anything of substance yet. (The only thing that he has really done was get that tax bill through both houses. He was lucky to get that through.)

Also, we don't need to give him a break!!!! He takes them constantly.

To be honest, when he's taking his breaks, he needs to bone up on his speaking skills. He's really bad. Putting EVERYTHING else aside, I don't think it's too much to want to have a president who at least APPEARS to be intelligent leading us.

I don't care what anyone else says, the man although president is NOT BRIGHT IN THE LEAST.

He spoke at Yale graduation (his Almamater) and his speech subject was directed at the C students(he was one) and it was titled "You too can be President". Not strive for the best or use your full potential... but be happy with mediocrity.

He spoke at the AIDS summit in Paris about Africa a "nation" in peril. Now last time I checked Africa was a continent, the U.S., Canada, Mexico, those are nations.

He addressed the people of Greece in a speech in Europe as "Grecians", that word doesn't exist... they are "Greeks"

AND ABOVE ALL... the man says "irreguardless" and I can't STAND that!

maybe I am hard on him and picky but first off he's the president, all americans should be picky about the president, secondly I live and breathe poly sci and he makes are system look really BAD. If you think leaders from other "nations" don't laugh at him and find him utterly ridiculous you are sadly mistaken.

Bush was on one of those new mags last night (20/20 I think) He went on and on about how it wasn't really a vacation, but he would be working the entire time. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/rolleyes.gif He took the interviewer in his office and said something like "I'm going to spend some time tomorrow calling some of the leaders of the free world" I was waiting for the laugh track. I am not saying the being the president of the United States is an easy job, but presidents have gone through wars, depression and etc. and still did not take all those days off.
