Also, you can post pics, search for people through common interests, schools, location, even GLO.

I don't get friendster. It seems like a harder to use Orkut. I know Orkut came second, but I think it's a lot better. Especially the communities. Of course it's down right now, but it's a beta, so I guess that's expected.

yea- once i saw this post i decided to try out friendster... but its kind of annoying to navigate... i wasn't too impressed- i'll see if my friends add themselves or not though and i like the idea

I feel so much better now, I thought I was the only person with problems navigating Friendster since it is suppose to be popular. I had joined a couple months ago but never really used it b/c of that. Thanks to WinneythePooh7's invite on the NYCGreek Yahoo list she now gets the proud distinction of being my first official friend on friendster. (I know you probably feel oh so proud - hehe)

I do love orkut though. I posted a message on GC a while ago to see if anyone else was on and if I should start a GC community but no one responded. :-( If its ever up again I'll definitely start one.

I'm on there. It's not a bad site.

I like Friendster too. I found a lot of old friend through that site. I actually just joined My Space and it's a little easier to navigate and you can upload ten pictures instead of just five.

I'll join if you start one. There is already one for members of greek letter organizations, but I think it only has 30 something members right now.

Me and Jess were Friendster buddies since last summer! I rarely check Friendster these days because of MySpace...I'm always on that thing!

i have joined friendster and myspace (what else will i do when i am bored at work), now how the heck do i find people i know!!

you guys should all join orkut... its so much easier to use and i think all the gc'ers would enjoy the community feature unless they have the same thing on friendster and myspace and just haven't figured out how to use them yet.

my space is getting really annoying. everyday i get an email about some sex-starved guy who wants to be my friend! now i need to figure out how to change my options. plus everyone on it seems to be from california.

If you go to your Home, click on Account Settings, from there go into Privacy Options and it'll tell you where to go from there.

I had that same problem too (most from people from the Philippines and Malaysia) but I made it so that people had to know my first and last name or my email address.

It's not just California either. You should see how many Hawaii folks are on there.

You need to be invited. Tell me your email address, and I'll add you as a friend, which will send you an email to let you join.
