Soooooooo, for those of you who are "searching" for information, the website is "down" for an undisclosed amount of time.

I am sure it will be "up and running" in no time, BETTER THAN EVER!

I thought you all would like to know....(FYI)

Yes soror u are right......I saw a note on the website about a week ago and it said that it will be back up on June 1, 2001. The site had a note telling sorors to check back on June 1, 2001 for the new launch of the site...

It's back up and running I am in it now....

OOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPsssss the newest site does not appear to be up and running. Maybe after a certain time of the day perhaps. Anywhichaway I am still in the site, just now the new version.

I am sorry, but I searched under www.aka1908.com, and it's the same webpage that states that the new site will be out in June. The only thing I saw was new was another university's web site. I was under the impression that the headquarters will have a new website. Correct me if I am wrong.

I was under the impression that the SAME website, aka1908.com WAS ONLY BEING UPDATED/UPGRADED, whatever. I never thought that there would be a NEW website.

We have 28 more days left in this month, let's see what happens.

Patiently waiting the arrival of the website...maybe the changes have been made...i know that you can't search for a chapter anymore (unless I just can't find that link http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif)

I think the site has already been updated. The address from the Basileus is a new one, and I noticed that when you drag the mouse over the links the picture changes on the right.. You are correct. The picture did always change. What I wonder is why the site no longer says it will be updated in June? The website address has not been changed has it?

The picture has always changed, at least as far back as I can remember.

UPDATE:

I called headquarters today and I was told that the website is NOT "up and running". So what you see now, is NOT the "new" site.

The Soror said that it POSSIBLY could be ready some time in September.

I really enjoy this forum, I visit frequently but this is my first post. I was excited to find the new website up and running, it is done with class and very informative.

I love the new site! Chapter locator is back :) So that should be fairly easy for interest to get in touch with a chapter (prayerfully they won't bombard the particular chapter of interest).

I'm glad it's back up. It was longly anticipated.

Is anyone else having a problem gaining access to the site this evening? Everytime I try, the "document not found" screen appears. Since index2.html is attached to the site, I wonder if it is still a work in progress to be transferred to www.AKA1908.org mainpage at a later date. If you type the regular address as is without index2.html, the old site appears.

I am having the same problem as Total Elegance. I didn't get to see the new site at all! :(

Maybe it is just me, because it still won't work for me. I have tried Netscape and Explorer. Oh well, I will just keep trying.

At certain times of the day it works fine, then the next time you go to it, it may say document not found. Maybe during those down times, the webmaster is working on the site. The index2.html attachment could be the test page.

Has anybody tried viewing the Macromedia flash presentation of the founders? I can't get it to work.

Soror, I saw it for the first time yesterday and it really is quite different. I think they are still working on it so it sends you back to the old site. It is really nice though.

I had a question about a section of the new site, so I e-mailed headquarters.
The response was that the new site was to be launched Nov. 30.

I am giddy with delight!!! Yes folks it takes very little to make a sista' happy. The website is BEEEEEEUUUUUUTTTTIIFUL!!
It is so informative and it just shows off the wonderful things that this organization has done and continues to do!!!! My favorite part is looking at the pictures of the past presidents and now I am trying to get this Macromedia to work so I can read about the founders some more.

I tell you technology is a wonderful tool. As a prospective I am truly lucky!!!! Ok enough giddiness for now :-D:cool: ;) .

The new Alpha Kappa Alpha website is wonderfully designed! It was absolutely breathtaking. I truly must salute the design team because I know that a lot of worthwhile work went into it.
