So how are things going for our Beta hopefuls and transferees?

I'm in the process of deciding what my next step should be. My hubby and I will be moving in a few weeks, and I can't decide if I should transfer or Friendly Venture. I also don't know just how busy I'm going to be!

Nothing here. I'm hoping it's just a slow time with the end of the "semester," and hopefully I can hear from someone in the autumn.

I got a call yesterday!
 

I got a call from someone in my town - unfortunately, I missed the call and got a message left, but apparrently it's a career chatper that meets once a month. I've called her back today, and hope to be able to attend a meeting soon and meet the other BSP'ers in my area. Wish me luck to see if it's a good fit or not!

I'm going to a meeting on the 13th. A 2nd chapter contacted me and they're having a meeting on the 13th as well, so I told them I wasn't available. The 2nd chapter who got a hold of me is finishing up their year, so I told the VP to keep me in mind for fall. The 1st chapter goes all year 'round. I'm very excited for my meeting!

I heard back from International again last week telling me they had entered me in the prospective member database and sent my information to chapters in my area within a 30 mile radius.

Hopefully I'll hear from a chapter not before too long :)

talked to the chapter president today - and I'm going to go to their meeting next Tuesday nite! She said it's a small chapter, 6-8 women - so I'm curious to see what happens after Tuesday...wish me luck!

Hello there - went to my first Beta meeting last nite...

Chapter was missing two women - so there was a total of 6 present, including me....

A very laid-back chapter, meets monthly at various sisters' houses or at restaurants, does a service project monthly, but doesn't participate in City Council.

I got invited back to the June meeting, but unsure if I can make it yet b/c of work, but I'm definitely still interested....keep your fingers crossed!

I went to my meeting last night and I had a good time. The sisters seemed really nice and friendly. We had a yummy dinner and went through the business meeting. They discussed upcoming socials and service projects. At the end of the meeting, the VP told me she would be in touch with me later this month.

I also emailed the other ROJ chapter I've had contact with asking if I could take them up on their invitation to a meeting. Their next meeting is the last meeting of the sorority year. I would like to see how they run their chapter. I orginally told them to contact me in August, but now that I've seen one chapter, I would like something to compare it to.

I have just been invited to next week's meeting and fun outing following the meeting with the Nu Epsilon chapter in Louisville. I'm so excited! I cant wait to meet the ladies of Nu Epsilon! :)

I will be going to another meeting on the 27th with a different chapter. They will be doing officer installation and secret sister reveal at this meeting, so they asked me to dress up. This chapter is a traditional chapter, so they will not be meeting after the 27th until August. :( The other chapter I met with on the 13th is a career chapter that meets year 'round. I'm really excited for the 27th!

No news here-- but since the traditional year is winding down, I've come to the conclusion that nothing much will happen until at least August, if at all. I just wish there were some sort of a chapter listing at internationals so I'd be able to find a place to start.

I'd love to FV a chapter, but I don't have seven female friends to my name to consider it.

Went to another meeting last night with a different chapter. It was fun, all the ladies seem friendly, but I felt I fit in better with the first chapter I visited. There are things about both chapters I like, I feel kinda confused. I'm waiting for the VP of the first chapter I visited to call, so I'll keep you posted!

I was wondering if there are any updates. I know Measi and ThetaPrincess were possibly visiting chapters a few weeks ago. How did it go?

None here-- I unfortunately was unable to get to the chapter that contacted me (due to work conflicts and the long distance to get there). But I have heard from two other sisters since then-- once from another New Hampshire chapter (who believes there are some around Cape Cod... which is far, but not as far as Seacost area New Hampshire) and one from Jill's UMass chapter. :) All are quiet for the summer... so things are on pause a bit until late August or so- although I do intend to keep in touch with the sisters who emailed me.

Sorry, Erica~ For some stupid reason I keep getting Jill and you mixed up (one of those really idiotic brain things).

But yeah, I'm psyched-- it's a bit far away, but much easier to get to than the seacost NH region (which has members from NH and Maine).

The meeting with the chapter in Louisville ended up being cancelled, but I'm invited to the next one when it gets planned.


On the other hand, I have been invited to a summer picnic from the Beta Psi chapter here in Lexington which I will be attending on July 24th :) I'm quite excited about it :)

No real news to report. I'm not 100% certain yet, but I think I'm going to FV a chapter instead of continuing to look for an existing one. I'll know for certain after I get settled in my new apartment at the end of August. :)

Internationals is sending out my information to all the chapters within a 30 mile radius. I think after I am a member for awhile, I might friendly venture (after my term one semester term of president for my APO chapter). I would like to get more college students involved on my campus.

Well, I went to my second Beta meeting last week - it was at the local Cheesecake Factory restaurant (yummy!). I've been given the opportunity to think about pledging - yay!

Well I met with the Lexington chapter. I liked everyone I met. everyone was so friendly! I even unknowlingly met someone from my bible study group there that I didnt know was a member of Beta Sigma Phi :) I did feel out of place a lil bit at first because with the exception of the chapter president, everyone was married with children---and I'm neither of those things. However they did tell me that meetings or get togethers where the whole family is invited is not something that is often. I plan to meet with them again at a legends baseball game on Aug. 14th and see how that is without the hubby's and the kiddies. they invited me to a dinner outing tonight but I am not able to attend due to the short notice and a previous engagement.


I've also been invited to attend a Bunko party/gettogether with the chapter in louisville on Aug. 15th. This is a younger and newly formed group than the Lexington chapter. I'm planning on meeting with both groups 2 or 3 times to get a feel before I choose which one I like the best. I have been talking to the president of this group online and we do seem to have or experiencing the same things presently(inparticularly with stupid guys). I'm excited to meet this group.

I got my first phone call today. A chapter (ABZ) that encompasses Tampa and Brandon and she invited me to a Bridal shower that they are having on Saturday. Unfortunately I was away and didn't get the phone call until after the message was left. Also I can't make it but it gives me hope that I will start hearing from other chapters.

I called the chapter back and spoke to the VP for 23 minutes. Even though they are at least 10 years older than I am, it seems like I will get along with them pretty well. They also told me how they raised 15 grand not too long ago and that makes me feel proud. Their meeting is on the 13th. I hope to hear from more chapters.

Last night I met with the Lexington chapter again and had a better time than I did at the picnic! They offered me an invitation to join and told me the pledging period/new member program is a year long. I let them know that I had been invited to a get together with the Louisville chapter and would make a decision after I met them. I was invited to and accepted the invitation to a Beginning Day party with a luau theme next week. I'm looking forward to it!

I meet with the Louisville chapter for the first time on Sunday afternoon. I'm excited to meet the ladies of the Louisville chapter :)

How exciting!!! Can't wait to hear about the other chapter, too! Congrats on the invite!! Keep us posted about everything!
