Hey, guys! Sorry to crash but I am a St. Joe's alum and I find all of this very exciting! I didn't even know we were expanding (there were rumor flying back when I graduated that we needed another chapter but it never came to fruition!) so I am thrilled that an organization as wonderful as AOPi will be joining the community!!
|
Thanks A Phi Diva! I know all of us AOIIs are excited about the colonization process! GO AOII! Go St. Joe's!
|
HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love news about expansions. How terrific!

update
Everything is well underway. We have two big events planned before formal recruitment. Formal Recruitment is January 30-February 5.
October 9 - "ExtrAPPLEganza ... to Strike Out Arthritis" and is a Fall Festival type event. The event is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on campus. There are team activities ... all involving apples - apple smashing, apple song and chant, apple toss, scarecrow relays, etc. The teams are not based on organizations, but will be mixed up throughout the competition. November 11 - F.A.I.T.H. presentation for the campus We will be continuing with other PR activites. So far we have a good list of PMs. If you are in the area and can assist with these events, please contact Lori at lbelew@alphaomicronpi.org. "St. Joseph's University... A Tradition Begins" |
HELLO FROM SJU
It's so encouraging to see support for our soon-to-be colony at SJU! I'm the Resident Consultant at St Joe's and will be "Mother Hen" to our wonderful colony of women in January! We have lots of excited women who are going to be fabulous sisters... it's very exciting and it's very encouraging to see so much SJU support on here!
|
Congrats! We're all out here in GC land cheering you on!
Roses for all of the wonderful things you're doing for AOII at St. Joes! |
Welcome to GC! I am glad that things are going so well. Keep us posted.
|
Good Luck to AOII and St. Joe's. Keep us updated on the progress, we all love to read about it!
|
Go St. Joe's! GO AOII!
|
So Far So Good
Lots of buzz still about the ExtrAppleganza!
A second informational dinner was held Sunday night and it was FANTASTIC! The number of women attending TRIPLED that of the first dinner. F.A.I.T.H. will be presented on Thursday night for the campus. Local chapters are sending women to assist as well as the new AAC. FR is in January and then we do our colonization recruitment. |
I'm so happy to hear everything is going well at St. Joe's!
|
Tania-- So glad to hear all is going swimmingly at St. Joe's!!! Keep up the great work :) As a Philly girl, it's always great to hear a new chapter of a sorority at one of our fine institutions of higher learning! Last year it was us at Drexel...this year, you all at St. Joes! :)

I'm so happy to hear it is all going so well! Tania, I have some tee shirts from Nu Beta, can you PM and tell me where to mail those shirts to? They are AOII shirts that are brand new in all sizes and I thought the new girls up there might like them!
GO AOII @ St. Joe's! |
Clean out your box, silly.
|
all cleaned out
|
Good luck to St. Joes! How exciting! :)
|
The colonization parties sound so fun! GOOD LUCK to everyone at St. Joe's!
Isn't it so exciting to know we'll have some brand new AOIIs soon? |
Update
Things are definitely in full swing. Although the first party was cancelled due to weather and had to be rescheduled, the rest of the events went extremely well. Every PM had a blast. It was also good that many of the AAC were there to get the feel for the young women. Personal appointments started yesterday and will continue through out the day.
Since this colonization process is a little different, bids cannot be distributed until FR Bid Day. This way all NMs get their bids on the same day. We'll see how it all turns out. |
Go St. Joe's! I'm so excited to hear it is going well! I know in my heart they will do so well!
|
When is FR bid day? Just so we know when we can celebrate our newest members :D
|
Update
Sorry this is a little late. We have been celebrating (and recuperating from) the Carnival Season!
Anyhoots, we have 40 new pandas! Colonization took place on Feb. 5. They will continue the next several weeks with COR events as CT is 70. Chartering is TBA because I forgot to ask. :o |
Awesome news on St. Joe's. I have the address to send the tee shirts from Nu Beta and I can get that together this weekend! I'm so excited. I wonder what the chapter name will be? I'm so excited to hear they are doing so awesome. :) Roses to everyone on the Extension team and to the alumnae up there who are working hard and to the new members!
