Drunken injuries
 

So last night, me and some friends were drinking and I had a little too much. I woke up thismorning and my right foot is swollen on the right side on the top. I couldn't even walk on it. My friends informed me that I fell off the bed and somehow turned my foot inward and did that. It hurts like hell.

Anyone else had any drunken injuries but didn't remember how the hell they happened? :cool:

Last week I got into a fight with the porcelain pony and the pony won. I went home with cut and gigantic bump on my forehead.

When I studied abroad in Rome, one night we went out and I guess we had too much drink. The next morning, trying to fight the hangover and not, I noticed slashes like whips all over my arms and legs, along with bruses on my knee. So finally, I was told that apparently I have bought a buche (sp?) of roses for cheap price, and gave the roses to every friend that night. As drunk as we were, we walked around the city the whole night and chased one another with the roses and whip them around, gladiator style. And I jumped into the S. Andrea della Valle fountain in Corso Vittorio, followed by one of my good friend. I somewhat remember this, though, since it was a cold fountain. I was convinced with the stories after I saw the pics my friends took that night.

Those dang drunk American students! ;)

Your story reminds me of one similar to my biological sister's. One night we had a party at our house. I have no idea why, but my sister ran outside and in the process kinda twisted her ankle, stepping on the side of her foot. She said it hurt, but shook it off and we all kept partying. The next morning she tried to wake me up telling me I had to take her to the hospital because her foot was extremely swollen and hurt like hell. I think she fractured her foot, but we always laugh about that night.

As for me, I don't have any outrageous stories, just the usual bruises, burns, and the like. There was one night, though, that we were at a fraternity-hosted party at a club. This club has a large outdoors area, complete with ponds, hills, etc. I remember falling seven or eight times that night because of the ground being so uneven and having to walk around so many people. That was a great night.

Once I broke my finger when I was drunk. I was gesticulating madly and smacked my hand down on a table. I only realized it in the morning when my finger was twice its size and I couldn't bend it.

A few summers ago I stepped on a bag full of beer cans and got cuts ALL over my feet.

Also I constantly wake up with bruises, but I feel like everybody does that.

lol i'm the queen of injuries when i'm drunk.. and they aren't alwyas my fault! example:
once- a guy fell down a flight of stairs on top of me- and i still had like 6 more stairs to go... and so once he slid into me- i twisted around- banged my head into the banister- and landed in a crumpled heap and the bottom on my stomach with this dude on top of me.... i had the wind knocked out of me and the bouncers had to carry me out- i bruised 3 ribs very badly and had massive bruises on my knees and head... it sucked!

when i was in rome- i had too much wine with dinner and i was talking to this group of guys and i wasn't paying attention to where i was going and fell off the sidewalk and sprained my ankle in 3 places.... its been 3 weeks and it still kinda hurts! lol

i've fallen down stairs.... fallen up stairs.... smacked my head- slid on beer- ran into things... gotten beaten up by various objects (i relate to the roses story! lol)and i wake up with all kinds of injuries lol
i'm a rambuncious crazy drunk girl.... and i'm like that much of the time :D

I know it's been a damn good night when I wake up with bruises on my legs and I have no idea how they got there.

I sprained my ankle the other night walking in super high heels.
they should outlaw heels and tequila in combination.:)
A couple of years ago I was having a huge birthday party and I managed to slip down the stairs... my butt and legs were really bruised.

One time, I decided that I was The Rock and a Post Box was Triple-H. Triple-H won.

Also, walking home, I decided that I was tired and that a post office box is a horse. Not wanting to walk home, I decided to ride the horse. The horse threw me off.

I definitely broke my toe last year when one of my friends stepped on it when we were drunk. The next morning it was bright purple and I had no clue why it hurt so badly until about an hour later when I remembered it. I just told the doctor at the clinic that I was clumsy :)

I always have remembered it, but I still have a scar on my leg from when I was running after my boyfriend at the tailgate tents and smacked into the stakes in the ground, causing a huge gash.

And, although this isn't an injury, right after my 21st last year, I was crawling up into my bed (I had a loft) and dropped my cell phone on a bunch of wine coolers that were on my floor and cracked the face of it.

My friends and I went to a graduation party after high school graduation. One of my best friends was wasted and due to the amazing power of alcohol as a confidence booster, she started to flirt with this guy who had graduated several years before us. As she walked away from him (totally strutting) to get another drink, she tripped and proceeding to fall face first into about five rose bushes. Luckily, they didn't seriously scratch her but had scratches all over her body for several days. It was hilarious listening to her try to come up with an explanation to her parents!

I refer to these as "MPI's" or Mysterious Party Injuries

When I started dating my bf, I was sitting on his bed and some how I managed to get his fan (one that stands up) that is next to his bed on top of me and stuck to my belly ring. How it happend, no one knows. Only person in the room with me was his best friend who was getting more beer outta the fridge. :confused: After that I passed out after I was freed from the fan. I still stay away from that fan when drunk lol

Besides a few bruises and scratches from falling down stairs or bumping into things, I have not had any major injuries. One of my sorority sisters on the other hand....

She got really drunk one night at a party in our friend's apartment. A bunch of us were out on the balcony and she wanted to join us. She didn't realize that the glass sliding door to the patio was closed. She went plowing right into it and broke her toe. We were all laughing so hard because we heard this huge thud against the glass sliding door and we look over to see her lying on the floor. Glass sliding door took her out! She had a fun time trying to explain that one to the doctors and her parents the next day. :)

Another time, my friend fell off the bar and broke her ankle. I think I talked about that on here in the drunk thread.

I pulled something in my knee one night while dancing. The guy picke me up & spun me around & I kicked something--pulling something in my knee. It hurt like hell for like 2 weeks.

Lastnight I dropped my cell phone in the toilet at the bar.

Not me, but when I was in college, I attended a party to celebrate the initiation of the new brothers. Two of the brothers were drunk and celebrating initiation by head butting each other. So they got drunker and drunker laughing each time they head butted each other until they cracked each others' heads open. There was blood everywhere! These two geniuses thought it was hilariously funny even as they were being rushed to the emergency room to get stitches.

I woke up one Saturday morning with a huge bruise and scrapes all over my right cheek and zero idea as to what happened. My boyfriend and my friends informed me that the previous night at one of the frat lodges (we don't have houses), I was trying to go out onto the back porch, but I cut the corner too quickly and walked right into the brick wall.

My two favorite injury stories are from my sorority roomie - she likes to tell people she was drunk, but she wasn't.

Her first one - she's chilling at the Gamma Phi house the semester before I moved in, and she's just relaxing on the porch. We had a little side porch built off the house, raised about 2 feet off the ground. Well, Sarah decides to get a CD or something out of her car, gets up out of her lawn chair, and walks right off the porch. She sprained her ankle so badly she was on crutches for like six weeks.

Number two - it's the night we're moving into the house for second semester. I'm in our room, chilling out, and I'm starting to wonder where she is since classes start the next day. I call her up and she tells me she isn't coming back for a few hours, her fiancee is driving her back because she broke her wrist. I was like "haha, funny, where are you?"

Turns out she definitely did break her wrist - they were going ice fishing and she took one step on the ice and KA-BOOM.

My favorite drunk injury was one of our sisters walking through the screen door onto the aforementioned porch, knocking it out of the track, tripping over the door on the porch, and then falling off the porch. She wasn't hurt, but we were barbecuing with the SigEps and she got laughed at.

My worst drunk injury was either getting attacked by the chains on my boyfriend's loft as I tried to climb into it, or getting JACKED in the face by a sandal during a round of sandal golf.

My Sophmore year and friend and I thought it would be a great idea to jump into the freezing pool in November. We had so much frun the first time that we decided to do it again. After we jumped in the pool the second time I forgot to open the gate and Ran right into it. Unfortunately my foot slid underneath the bars and slit open the top of my foot from ankle to toe. I felt nothing until the cold of my foot was warmed by the blood. I ended up with 26 stitches, crutches and foot the was so purple I could step on it if I wanted to.

i usually end up with huge bruises on my shins or cuts on my hands from scraping up against bars or something. I bruise easily so this happens often...

My ID fell in the toilet more than once. When I was in school we didn't carry purses to the bar so we put our IDs in pants pockets or jacket pockets or cigarette packs.

I still have a scar on my left knee from falling down in front of my little's house during senior walk - oy vey.

I still have a scar on my knee from a drunken college injury. I met this dreamy guy at a bar and he offered me a ride on his Vespa. I was so drunk when I tried to get on the Vespa, I sort of overshot and ended up on the ground, scraping the hell out of my knee. It was a disgusting bloody mess but I didn't even notice it or that it hurt until the next day, but the guy was really dreamy.

Okay, Donna was really really drunk one night at the Lambda Chi house. She decides she's had too much to drink and needs to go home. So, off she goes in search of a DD. She just so happens to be on the top level of the house. Well, to get to the bottom level she has to go down one flight of stairs, and then turn and go down another flight of stairs. So, she grabs brother Joe's hand and says, "Help me walk down the stairs!" So, he does, and as she gets to the bottom of the first flight of stairs, she falls and busts her butt big time. She stands up, laughs, and waits for Joe to catch up to her. "That sucked." she says. So, they turn to go down the next flight of stairs.....when she falls AGAIN! Yes folks, I fell down a flight of stairs twice in a row the Thursday night before spring break....so when I got home and was laying on the beach 2 days later it looked like my boyfriend beat me. I was bruised all over on my legs and my arms!!!

ETA: I was still hungover 2 days later...I was pretty sloshed. :rolleyes:

One of my pledge sisters fell down a flight of stairs at the Pi Kapp house and broke her jaw. She wasn't drunk though!

At Lambda Chi Alpha's Pumpkinfest this year, we were a bit intoxicated. One of my sisters dropped her phone in the toilet as she was flushing it, getting it stuck. Everyone ran around for awhile trying to find a plunger. The funniest thing was our president sticking her arm up the toilet (that the guys use and rarely clean, mind you) trying to get the phone out. She finally just got a new phone.

we used to have parties at my house. the living room and kitchen were upstairs. so people would go up the dark stairwell and trip over the steps ALL the time! it was the kind that goes up some steps, goes to a landing, then up in the other direction. but on the landing, there was another step in the middle which is where everyone would fall. you'd be in the hallway or something, and hear a big THUNK, and then hear some people laugh. i thought it was hillarious. some people even fell down the stairs in front of the police!

We had a toga party my freshman year with Phi Mu on the second floor of a bar downtown. I was the DD and sober and my big sis was anything but and under 21. She picked a fight with a bouncer who pulled a policeman over and while I tried to convince the cop just to let me take her home she kept fighting with him. It ended with both of us being escorted out of the bar by about 4 cops. I was walking in front of my big as we went down the stairs, my big tripped and took out like 2 huge policemen and me as she tumbled down the stairs, we landed in a big crumpled heap at the bottom of like 15 stairs. She ended up with only a warning and the cops let me take her home, but needless to say we were both extremely brusied the next morning and I am sure the cops were too!

Every Wednesday night at D&B the Sunset Lanai gets turned into a club. Happy hour (which includes every liqueur HALF OFF) is also in effect.

The boy had to come and save me because I was too messed up to drive home. We pulled into the garage, I got out of the car, tried to walk up by myself, but I ended up EATING IT BIG TIME because a) my shoes were too high and b) it was Happy Hour at D&B's fault.

I have a swollen ankle and a few scrapes on my elbow now. :o

Um, I got wasted off three drinks last night due to Jules' self-inflicted rehab for the past month.

I have this GIGANTIC purple/green bruise on my forehead, and no idea how it got there :( I also don't know how I got home, but I'm more worried about the bruise.

My husband was tailgating and got completely wasted...when they were playing catch with a football he slipped on some wet grass on a golf course and broke his wrist.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, I did this last summer and I'm still getting crap about it. Even last night, I was in the bathroom (at the same bar) and some random girl was saying, "I lost my phone," and one of my friends blurts out, "Don't feel bad, she dropped hers in a toilet here once."

I'm so clumsy when I'm sober that adding alcohol to the situation pretty much seals the deal for random bruises and accidents. Last New Year's, I was leaving the party we were at and there wasn't any snow, so how I twisted my ankle and got grass stains on my khakis. Didn't even hurt until the next day when I woke up.

Another night I was wearing shoes that had no traction, walking down some wet steps, when my phone rang. Apparently my answering it caused me to loose my balance because as I said hello to my friend I fell and had two large bruises on my leg and rear end for about a month.

Hmmm, a week and 2 days after my drunken injury...and my foot is STILL swollen and hurts like a mother. I'm going to the doctor today.

I've been noticing more and more brusies on my legs which can either come from druken injuries or knocking into kid sized furniture at work. Either way the huge yellow/brown/purple marks on my legs are NOT cool!
I fall down so easily sober, like the time I fell off the curb at the dorm circle, it's no wonder I get drunken injuries like no tomorrow

Oh, I have had a few drunken injuries!
The worst was about 2 years ago when I was way drunk at Hole in the Wall(CHEESY Atlanta bar) and was climbing up to dance with a friend on one of the little level things and somehow managed to slice the HELL out of my toe. Blood is everywhere and the carry me to the bathroom, have me up on the sink counter with my foot in the sink and me not feeling ANYTHING. I woke up the next morning with all of this toilet paper wrapped around my toe, secured by duct tape. I seriously should have gotten stitches and I still have a scar.
Then, a few weeks ago, I was leaving the Braves game and trying to find a cab with some friends and these guys a little bit down the road yell that they will share a cab with us, so my drunk ass goes hauling towards that cab and in the process, does a HEADER over a potted plant. Luckily, I landed on my tummy and not my head but everyone was DYING! The guys did end up paying for our cab, though, because they said I was some great entertaiment. I had skinned palms and bruised knee's for at least a week!

Just sprained my foot yesterday when I was drunk... I've never heard of anyone spraining their foot before. I do know its tremendously swollen and I can barely walk. Oops.

So I was at a function where I'd had about 10 drinks too many, went mattress sledding, bumped into about 30 tables, you know, standard classy GP behavior...no bruises.

Fast forward to this year where I'm at another function and I'd only had 4-5 drinks too many, my date talked me out of mattress sledding, I didn't crash into anything - I had a HUGE bruise on my thigh for a few weeks and nobody has any idea how it got there.

Well, two of my sisters and I were walking down the four flights of stairs from our dorm rooms to leave the building before a function. Stairs + drunk girls always leads to injuries, the funny part is each of us fell at seperate times and made sure to laugh at each other each time. Then the next morning we had initation and we only had to walk across a small parking lot and down some stairs to get where we need to be, and all three of us being sober and sore from falling the night before fell down the stairs again only the stairs were outside this time!!
