I will be going this year...

I am a level 4 graduate of the Impact Leadership program so I will be going to help IHQ and hopefully run a workshop or two...

And also to pick up some awards ;)

I hope to be going (if work works out and all) along with 3 to 4 guys from the Toronto chapter.... I'm an alumn now, so I haven't decided whether or not to show up for Impact or not (depends on whether or not the actives will be).

SGill4613 04-30-2004 02:56 PM

I'll be going and will hopefully be doing Impact Leadership Level IV. We're looking to send about 6. Last summer we sent 9, the largest ever from Iota Phi.

Matt

jbn566 05-02-2004 04:41 AM

wow that's cool that your chapter is sending so many people to GA and to Impact....

...I can't say enough how awesome I think the Impact Leadership program is, it has helped me alot.. Not a day goes by where I don't use something I learned from the Impact program...

...I wish my chapter will make it an unwritten rule where only members who have at least attended Impact Level I to be even considered for a High Zeta position... It helps sooooo much with the leadership skills and in turn helps manage and run the chapter that much more

I'm there. Bought my plane ticket last week. Were (me and the Alpha and Theta from the colony I advise) are arriving on Wednesday afternoon. It didnt make sense for the colony or them to drop $500 (registration for impact, addtl hotel stay) for them both to attend IMPACT 2 up there when for half that we can have someone from HQ come down and facilitate Level 2 for the entire colony this fall. They can all go through level 3 at RLC in the spring and have a bunch apply to go through level 4 next summer.

Anyway, I'll be there as a High Pi (for the first time as an alumni) but my 3rd General Assembly. I am hoping against all hope that I can get on the 'alumni delegation' or 'board of governors' as the constitution calls it. Its the 1/3 of the voting body at GA made up of alums. They pick at the Alumni reception. I'm going to let it be known that I want on. Since my guys as a colony dont have vote, at least that can sort of have a vote. Someone with a vote will be advocating for them....

Anyway, it should be cool. I was at the '94 GA in Indy and it was cool.

Tom Earp 05-03-2004 03:40 PM

Brother Andy, High Pi has a nice ring to it for you!

Wish I could be there especially from what you PMed me! Will be interesting!

Dont go kitso on the Brothers at UIW, lead them well!:D ;)

jbn566 05-04-2004 01:31 AM

school need not required

Hey Chip,

I am not sure if you have to be an undergrad to take part in the Impact Leadership.... but I will check out the details for you....

...i just assumed if you are a brother of Lambda Chi, and you are willing to go to GA then you can sign up for the Imact Leadership program....

Great now we are communiating with each other outside our emails and listserver... this is getting out of hand... :)

You can be an alum and go through the impact program. I went through Level I in February. I already did all 4 levels of LEAP (IMPACT's predacesor). Its a good experience tho. Most of the stuff in IMPACT 1 is stuff you learned in the professional world probably already.

Talk to HQ. Flash some cash and you can write your own ticket, lol.

boz130 05-04-2004 06:53 AM

I'll be in Indy...my bride will be coming along, too. She likes to visit the museums, zoos, etc. while I'm playing alumnus.

ZAX,
Bill F.

JonoBN41 05-13-2004 11:55 PM

I'm looking forward to it - signed up last month. Aside from the alumni seminars, banquet, and exemplification I'd like to tour IHQ and see some of the memorabilia there and trust it will be open.

I stopped by a GA in 1992, but have not really participated in one since 1973. As current president of our alumni association, I hope to pick up some valuable ideas that will help our organization grow and be more effective in dealing with the alumni and actives.

It appears that quite a few veteran greek chat brothers will be there, and I can't wait to meet you all in person! (I'll be the short fat bald guy with the ruddy complexion and a name tag saying "Jono")

After all the daytime heady learning stuff is over however, a proper chopper brings out his axe and mine is purple, green and gold. A little quiet music is always the perfect ending to the perfect day.

I'll see you there.

SGill4613 05-14-2004 12:43 AM

I was thinking...we need a way to identify each other (other than our nametags). Any suggestions?

Oh yeah, is anyone else going to be applying for level IV along with me?

JonoBN41 05-14-2004 01:27 AM

Well Matt, you could drag Tom Robinson with ya - or Brandon English. The former I used to know; the latter I'd love to meet along with you.

High Point rocks!!!

ZAX,
Jono

SGill4613 05-14-2004 12:24 PM

Yeah, Brandon and I go to the same school.

boz130 05-14-2004 12:45 PM

At various conventions I've been to (AFA/NIC, MGCA), they have message boards that allow people to place notes about hospitality suites, personal memos, etc. We could set up a sheet on the board so that all of the GCers could "sign in".

Since I'm in touch w/people in Indy every week about various chapters, I'll blow a call in & see if that'll be set up @ the Hyatt. I'll let you know what I find out.

ZAX,
BF

EM1843 05-14-2004 05:48 PM

Just letting everyone who is going know, look forward to seeing me on stage for IRT, and thank you very much Tom for your letter. I'll see you all there.

JonoBN41 05-16-2004 12:21 AM

Matt, very impressive that you will be on the IRT. Congratulations!!! I hope to see you - the last time, they wouldn't let me in (haha - just kidding). Em or PM me what you will be doing.

Tyrolian elf, huh Tom? Maybe you should go - and I can teach you a thing or two!

It's all good, but G.A. seems too far off. I can't wait.

In ZAX,
Jono

lifesaver 05-16-2004 04:15 AM

They still have spots available for IRT. I got a call asking if one of the guys from the colony I advise wants to participate. I'd love nothing more, but they have no $$ for the airfare. If I could raise the cash, we'd send someone for IRT.

At anyrate, I'll be there.

MattJackson5 05-18-2004 03:44 AM

General Assembly

GA is a great experience! I had the privilege of being on the 2002 IRT and it was great. Good luck to any and all who have applied for it!

In ZAX,

Matt

crmdogg03 05-18-2004 09:19 AM

Tom Earp 05-18-2004 04:54 PM

Someone mentioned a Letter Board there and about meeting Greek Chat LXs.

I have mentioned this to the Brothers of LX Z.

I hope someone takes the initiative and trys to get it placed there.

God, I so wish I could be there to see two of the Brothers that I have met and the many that I have talked with and Emailed or PMed.

I cannot wait for it to happen to see what the interactions were and what went on!

Just look for the Tall (EM1843) and the short, (BN41)!

Both are two of the finest Brothers that I have had the pleasure to meet!

jarodholt 05-22-2004 03:00 PM

Regrets ...

I regret that I will be unable to attend. I have mom at home and it is quite difficult for me to get away overnight. The High Pi conference last February was a handful and a half for me and the GA is a longer trip still. Looks like it will be a non-starter.

If I were to attend, the nominating committee would be a good one, as would chapter standards.

EM1843 06-02-2004 06:44 PM

UF now has 2 members on IRT. Our beta will be doing the Phi part for the AM ceremony. Look forward to seeing everone there.

lifesaver 06-03-2004 04:31 PM

The Colony at UIW is sending 3 undergraduates and their High Pi (me).

One of the undergraduates is also on IRT doing the AM ceremony. I dont know what part tho.

3 guys representing a brand new colony thats halfway across the country is pretty cool.

Tom Earp 06-03-2004 05:07 PM

Careful with the back pattong life, you may hurt something, after all, you are getting older!:D

Andy, that is really Great for Your New Brothers at UIW!

Pass along a Job Well Done to These New young Brothers!

aggiepunk83 06-07-2004 09:33 PM

I'm going also. It's going to be my first time so I'm really excited about the whole thing!!! We are a Colony also, Colony 332!!

boz130 06-08-2004 02:07 PM

Hey, gang--I just got word from Kip Zurcher that there will be a message board near the GA registration desk. As noted before, we should try to get all of the GCers together for a group photo.

Let's do some brainstorming to figure out how this will be accomplished.

ZAX,
Bill F.

Tom Earp 06-08-2004 03:25 PM

aggiepunk, first off, welcome to G C!

Secondly, congratulations on going to GA!

You had better look of some of the G C Brothers while you are there. They are a Great Group to be with and around!

Brothers like Jono, Matt, Andy, Folz, and others.

I am guessing your Colony is at Tx A&M, correct!:D

Fill us in on how it is going down in Texas. By the way, lifesaver (Andy) is from UT SA and High Pi Of Incarnet Word also in S A along with St. Marys! The only City that has that many Zetas!

Right Andy!

aggiepunk83 06-08-2004 09:37 PM

Thanks Tom. Actually we are NC A&T State located in the city of Greensboro...but A&M and A&T are both Aggies...I would love to get up with the GC guys at the GA.

How close is this to Charlotte? I'll be there 6/26-7/1 for a convention....

JonoBN41 06-18-2004 08:06 PM

Did you pull out of the lack of membership?

Huh? What does this mean? Lenox, are you going to G.A.?

aggiepunk83 06-21-2004 09:26 PM

There were many reasons why some of our guys couldn't go through...but the decisions were not for us to decide, we take it as just one of the many struggles we have to face being new to the campus. In the end all the struggles that we endure will be worth it!

Tom Earp 06-21-2004 09:50 PM

aggiepunk, keep an eye out for email!:)

RACooper 06-25-2004 05:24 PM

Unfortunately I won't be able to attend this year's GA... the dates conflicted with my annual hospital apointment.

Hopefully I'll be able to make the next one.... as I was really looking forward to going to this one.
