Another funny ebay listing...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...343&category=6
this had 1.19 million hits last I looked! |
Thank you, thank you, thank you for the great laugh!!!! :D
|
this is crazy, but VERY VERY funny, i'm just mad the bid is 5K, is someone REALLY gonna pay that much for it?
|
It's at $9,100 now
|
It's up to 160k. Someone has to be joking on these bids.
-Mark |
It just shot up to 11,000,100.00
ETA: 12,400,000.00 |
They retracted some bids and it's back at 17,000.00 now. Still nuts!
|
It's up to $331,000!!! Are they seriously going to pay that for this dress? |
It's only at $25,100 right now.... but look at some of the stuff these bidders have bought. Lots of crap.
|
This was all over The Knot yesterday. The other brides-to-be and myself had a good chuckle over it. Ebay is getting involved with the false bids and is trying to clean up the mess. Probably not such a bad-looking gown in real life :p
|
Our favorite ebay seller was on CNBC tonight wearing the dress. He says he's had over 5 million hits. There were 15 minutes left on the auction when "Bullseye" aired and the high bid was $6300. Who knew? ;)
|
|
Now that's pretty funny!! Kind of like the ad in the classifieds:
For Sale: Wedding Gown Worn once by mistake ;) |

bidding ended at a little over $3800!
 You can see the long list of bid cancellations as well. |
The guy's name is Larry Star. He's in a band called The Buzz Cuts based out of Seattle. He's got a website now: www.weddingdressguy.com. I just signed up for eBay, and someone interviewed him on eBay's radio station (?). The auction site had about 6 million hits, definitely a record. He said he found the gloves that went with the dress--be on the lookout!

Several people whose bids were cancelled are no longer registered members. Most are well-established ebayers. Could their accounts have been cancelled for placing these bogus bids??
|
Your account sure can be cancelled for placing bogus bids... it says your bid is a contract when you bid... no matter how good you are if you bid and don't buy they take it seriously over there. My friend was a SERIOUS super star E bay person... we bought lots of expensive tickets to concerts, she once purchased an expensive camera... basically she was addicted to E bay... but she always paid ,had only positive feedback... paid with speed... well she bid on something recently, forgot about it and won, didn't pay and now she's cancelled and had to create a new account and start all over. so yeah they take it seriously when you place a bid you don't intend to keep.

Unfortunately, the winning bid was bogus and Larry is stuck with the dress... I think the bidder should be forced to pay for it. That's what you get when you enter a serious auction. Poor guy... maybe he can try again when he auctions off the gloves :D

I WISH that ebayers would be gone after one non-pay.... would make my life as an ebay business person a heck of a lot easier. I HATE people who bid and don't pay. Unfortunately I get a lot of those... my guess is that many of the people who buy my auctions are young, college kids, who either have no money or just think it's kind of a game and they don't have to pay. |
