Are you, or are you not
...a good person? What to YOU defines being a good person?
How can you support your case? Side note-I just finished watching Denzel Washington in John Q. That is the reason for this question. |
What to YOU defines being a good person?
Treating OTHERS with respect and being selfless, regardless if you get that in return or not. Being humble and trustworthy. According to my standards, I need improvement, especially when I'm around those whom I dislike. |
Above all else sweet Dionysus, you are an honest human being.
Ironic on the surface, but true in the deepest sense. (Know what I mean?) |
Well, I try.
|
I like to think that I am. People I don't like probably don't think I am. I don't always hide it real well.
|
I used to think I was .. . I am too flawed to be a good person. But I try to mostly act like a good person.
|
I'm a good person in the sense that I am extremely loyal and will do absolutely anything for someone I care about. I am also willing to give new people the benefit of the doubt. I have never "gone after" a person unless he or she first messed with me or one of my friends.
On the flip side, though, if a person hurts me or someone I care about I could (according to an acquaintance) "see them dying by the side of the road, step over them and continue on my way". If someone crosses me, I tend not to forget it and I'm not very good at setting boundaries on my behavior if I'm pi$$ed off. So, I guess, at least I'm *half* good! :) And do I get points for at least being aware that I'm not always an angel? |

I am a good person. I am nice and sweet, too.
IF you hurt me, then you are permanently deleted from my life. I don't get revenge, I just weed out people who hurt me. I have done that so many times. |

I try to be a good person as much as my understanding of what makes a good person allows. |
I'm good in bed, does that count?

I usually have good intentions. But dotn feel like I am a good person usually. I strive to live my ritual, but most often, fall far short.

I think that is called Wheat and Chaff, the Chaff being ignored!:) There have been several great responses on here, Garth, FGAB*Spicey, and lifesaver, but how many people realy understand it, this? |

For myself, I honestly try very hard to be a good person, but then it occurs to me, if I really WAS that "good", why would I have to try??? It should be more natural than something I "attempt" to be. I've known some really good people. I feel ashamed sometimes because I pale in comparison. It's like a sin of omission... I feel guilty when people assume I'm a "good person". "Who knows what lurks in the hearts of men?" I think part of it is being selfless or perhaps more aware of the feelings and needs of others. I need some work. No, I need a LOT of work. |
