Who was the East Coast family? Was it a band or a bunch of bands comming together. Wasn't Kris Kros in that video? I also remmember the wanna be New Kids band in the video. Who were they?

East Coast Family = Boyz II Men, ABC and BBD.

I did a dance to that song at summer camp. Ah! The memories!

No, Kris Kross wasn't in the video as far as I remember. You might be thinking of ABC. The East Coast family was : ABC, BBD, and Boyz II Men. The three groups were all connected through Michael Bivens (the Biv in BBD and also a member of New Edition). He discovered both ABC and BIIM and was their manager at one point in time.

I can't remember any other bubblegum boyband out at the time of New Kids.

There was a trio of young guys called Perfect Gentlemen. THey used to open for NKOTB.

Really?? I don't remember them at all. And I went to 2 NKOTB concerts.

They were a trio made up of 3 black guys who were a good 10 years younger than the NKOTB and often toured along with a girl group called Sweet Sensation. I've never been to a NKOTB concert (I wasn't allowed to go to concerts until I was 12), but that's what a friend of mine told me

They toured with Sweet Sensation? That's funny, because Sweet Sensation was older than the guys and they totally appealed to another type of crowd (not the teenybopping crowd I belonged to). I saw NKOTB live twice, I don't think SS was their opening act.

Still, "Sincerely Yours" and "If Wishes Came True" were my favorite Sweet Sensation songs during the Summer of 1990.

I do, however, remember Perfect Gentlemen. They sang "Ooooh La La....Ooooh La La...I can't get over Yo-o-o-o-u". One of the guys in PG was the son of NKOTB's then producer, Maurice Starr.
