Why do you think men do not watch the Bachelor, American Idol, The Swan and the like?
 

I'm talking about most men. I think the reason why is because many men would rather watch sports rather than a dating show. Besides, men are bored with chick shows like the Bachelor(ette), Forever Eden, etc. Also, men would rather watch Dog Eat Dog, which is degrading to women, in my opinion.

The only show you've mentioned that I watch is the Bachelor -- I've never watched any of the others. Mr. valkyrie doesn't watch tv unless I'm watching it -- he's just not into tv.

because, i dont want to watch a show where i know that dude is a bigger stud than me. all the chicks will drool over this quarterback guy and i'll be like, uhhh hi, i'm here!

Actually I got addicted to Paradise Hotel last year because a guy told me how "cool" it was.

And my brother watches AI. Tho... most guys I talk to don't watch it.

I am home early on Tuesday's and Wednesdays, so whatever is showing on those days I get to watch. On the other days, I get caught up with ESPN, late sport games that is still on, and CNN news.

Because they don't really care about dating/makeover shows? :confused:

Because we are less gossipy and less up into other people's business.

These shows are basically bad drama and gossip . . think soap opera.

We would watch if you put in some nudity though . . .

I don't watch any of that garbage, it's a waste of my time.

If there was a nude pillow fight, I'll watch.

I only like watching American Idol for the performances, the whole tryout thing that takes up the first 10 episodes sucks to me.

The bachelor and stuff like that is just too long winded with not enough action, and yes it is like a soap opera.

Oh and also Sportscenter is always on. Girls dont appreciate sports for how awesome they are. Sports are different every time and the drama is real.

I'm a girl and I'd rather watch SportsCenter all day long than any of those stupid shows (aside from the Bachelor because for some stupid reason I'm addicted).

Here here! I'll certainly raise my glass and toast to that. Colossal waste of time.......

My boyfriend doesn't like them because they are over-dramatic. I agree that men just aren't into the drama like women are. Too soap opera like.

And for the record, I have cut back my reality TV intake by half of what it used to be. :D

I was stuck on watching Dream Job on ESPN... Not only was it entertaining, but the guy who won... Went to Mizzou and I've known for a very long time.. Good for him!

But I guess you're right.. men would rather watch sports..

That's not ture. As a girl, I love watching sports. I don't watch AI, The Bachelor, The Swan, etc because they are trash. Although I do watch survivor, but I know a lot of guys that watch that one.

Girls are interested in sports. You're just hanging out with the wrong girls.

On some occasion, I have watch Forever Eden, The Swan and Average Joe when I get a chance. It was all right. But If I want to get my laugh on watching a dating show, I'll watch Elimidate, the 5th Wheel, and EXtreme Dating. But you all have to agree with me that there's not much to watch on T.V.

I like "The Bachelor" but the other shows are just boring, predictable and CHEESY. Especially "The Swan." It is on TV right now and I am watching it for the first time... the psycho-babble is sickening. I think they are brainwashing these women and they don't even make them look like better versions of themselves, they convince them that they need to look like entirely different people. It's gross - they don't even teach them to just be happy about their transformation, they have failed if they don't make it to the "pageant."

i hate ALL dating reality shows. i only watched 'american idol' auditions. if you want me to watch a reality show, i have to see some action- otherwise i get bored. i like to watch Fear Factor and Dog Eat Dog ( i actually do not think that Dog Eat Dog is degrading to women- i can think of things that are far worse)

I hate the show "Swan" with a passion. Everytime I flip through the channels and I see it I start feeling like Tony Soprano having a panic attack. Shows like that make me wonder waaaayyyyy too much. Ever since that show came on everytime I see a hot chick I wonder if she was once an ugly ass whoe. I've caught myself looking to see if her nose looks like it was chopped or if her lips look like she's got collegen shot in them......it just makes me wonder some times. :mad:

my bf will watch the shows sometimes. he watched the swan tonight and will watch other makeover shows like that. he also LOVES dating shows like elimdate, blind date, and those kinds of dating shows. i don't know why :rolleyes:

i think the guys that do watch the shoes just want to see hot chicks. and with elimidate and those dating shows, it's for the hope of seeing strip downs and hot tub stuff. lol.

i don't like some dating shows cause the main person is scamming on other people right in front of everyones eyes. let that happen in real life... a guy you are talking to is trying to hookup with other chicks at the same time. hell nooooo!!!!

Hey, I watch Sportscenter.....in addition to some of the "girl shows". :cool:

By the way, I'm addicted to elimiDATE and The 5th Wheel. I would watch sports and lots of it. I think that the only time that most girls would watch ESPN or TSN is that when gymnastics or cheerleading or figure skating or softball is on.
